  1. Howdy All, Well we are fast approaching Texi "Skidz" Day and i thought what better time to bring back an old favorite tradition of mine!! Pub night at the Great Northern!! For you new members, this is most probably the easiest, most relaxed way to come and meet all the SAU'ers you see posting on here. These nights have always attracted members from all parts of Sydney with at least 20-30 peeps! For all the SAU'ers who have been to one of these before... well you know how it all goes With Texi coming up and a lot of new faces, this is a great opportuinty to meet, put faces to everyone and double check you are set to go before the day!! The place itself is a great location, with epic food, cook your own meat and plenty of space for everyone to mingle and enjoy some lazy bevvies I would strongly encourage everyone to come along and say hi, we are all a friendly bunch. Now for the Kicker.... we all know Stevo (N1GTR) is being tighter than a nut with revealing the courses for Texi.... well he has agreed to bring along 1 copy ONLY for everyone to get a sneek peek at the courses So for the details: LOCATION: Great Northern Hotel - Chatswood Corner of Pacific Hwy & Mowbray Rd Plenty of safe parking available in surrounding streets!! DATE: Friday 21st August TIME: 6pm onwards So be there or be unprepared Cheers, ANDO
  2. Uber awesome way to entice people to give this entry level motorsport a go, then to shoot people down for querying regs...... I believe in corrective criticisim but that 'frustrated outburst' was just a little uncalled for. I know you mean well but not all will see your posts as positive. Remember Brad, not all 'entrants' are in luxurious position of having the funds/mechanical knowledge to run and build mulitple cars with a 'carefree attitude'. Believe me i wish i had your knowledge, but ke sera sera, if i have a incident, i purely have to hand the car and money over to someone to fix it. I for one appreciate what your trying to say but dude, it's just not exactly the perfect persona to lay down to 'new comers'. Anywho... i will be out there giving it a go, and i will certainly be concerned about my car, but that wont stop me having fun and giving it a go.
  3. Well cage wont go in mine till xmas period anyway due to funds. So for now its harness and seat, then its till cage and external engine cut off last... still got to decide where to put that. Thinking just going the pull cord method instead of switch saves cutting holes.
  4. ya i know.... time to take a cement pill and start hacking at the interior.... not fussed about panel rubbing, look forward to a little car to car 'Morse code' You can pick up S13 panels for cheap cheap
  5. LOL i never doubted you uncle Dunc Okay dash cutting it is... do i want to hack up this silvia... hhhmmmmm mebe
  6. Well if Dunc is correct we should be able to get away with a cage as per your pic andrew... check below guidelines for full cage. One bend only coming down infront of dash should be ok..... SHOULD BE...
  7. Yeah we are tyring to ascertain if we can run the front roll cage down the front and curved around the dash. BUT reading the above info i found it would suggest a front roll cage has to follow the A pillar all the way to the floor without deviating more than 70mm from the pillar.....
  8. Doh good point i missed that too, i have single layer suit so i need these fireproof underwear.... oh sexy!!! Oh and i need boots.... FFS lol there goes the budget blow out ROFL
  9. I know Harry who would of predicted it........ Bozman behind the wheel of his own car... have to wait and see if he still drives it like its stolen Anywho, has anyone been able to confirm 110% the rollcage requirements for MRA? I have already started buying up on seat, harness, kill swtich, etc to suffice requirements. But over xmas period looking at getting cage done. Just need to know if i can go half cage or need full cage. If full cage can the front half be simply bolt in?!? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?
  10. Exactly my thoughts..... those 2 phrases just dont go together... like combining a proton with a neutron... it just aint right But that said, someone in the game (as Brad is) who has feeler on the market all the time could source and build good parts for a tightISH budget Never the less still uber keen to get out and see this Boz180 in full flight..... oh and scope out ideas
  11. Don't think about it...... DO IT Best fun you can have for $40..........
  12. LOL im still not happy with the 1:09 either... i reackon she has a 1:08 in her in current form. Throw a cage and strip her out, good alignment, full slicks (just bought woot), get the guts to flick it into high boost (180rwkw (L) vs 215rwkw (H))and she will be ready to roll Allan Muir from Bond??
  13. Yep 2010 is the year i cage up the failvia and get myself to this MRA thingy people are going on about Until then, its SSCC all teh way
  14. Bolted = Yes Cable Tied = I'll let an official organiser / scrutineer answer that. Any motorsport i partake in, cable ties wouldnt suffice.
  15. Needs to be installed and not loose..... some options are to use a pre existing bolt point, or remove passanger seat and use some mounting points from that...
  16. Now thats more like it!!! Come on kiddies, dont be shy this event is going to be pure awesomeness x11ty!!! If you arent book in then DO IT!!
  17. Im even entering the Failvia.... no excuses. Chubbeh where are you with the MX5!?!?!?!?!
  18. I see GET53T almost every morning doing the commute from Rydalmere area over to the hills area I do the same sort of commute but in reverse... so no im not a stalker LOL
  19. Approx $1500, depends if you have friends in the industry who can do mates rates. Also depends on what kind of setup you run. Wireless, hard wired, back to base, door/window sensors, motion sensors etc etc.... My 3 bedroom town house runs 4 motion sensors (including garage) plus usual window & door sensors.... my old 1 bedroom apartment ran 1 motion sensor and door/window sensors... obvisouly apartment was a lot cheaper (less than $900) to setup. Worth every cent IMO
  20. Awesome John appreciate that! Will see if can get the seller to look into the details and post up!! Kenoath Brad! I can't let you and Greg have all the fun!! LOL mate i have NO chance of 'playing' with u 2! I am fully aware that it will bump me into 4D thou. I am just in the market for some rubber as my RE55's are fubar'd and these popped up! So i can get these for about half the cost of new semis.... Also the chance to shave a couple more seconds off my time is quite appealing Dunno if full slicks will be worth any time though in reality? Is it roughly same rule of thumb? Minus a couple of seconds going from streets to semis, then same again from semi's to slicks?? If i can get the Silvia under 1:20 on OP GP and sub 50 on OP South before it closes then i will be a happy chappy.... this is also a goal for getting the slicks, call it a last dash for glory before the developers move in and take away a beautiful track
  21. Just to clarify i live in the same area Eug and have had first hand experience with these fckers and have a strong opinion on who and why it is happening to our area. But as stated above, will keep it off a public forum!
  22. I have a few opinions on this but due to popular demand will keep it to myself You could say that the good ol' G.F.C can cause al lot of people to resort to these kinds of ways.... Meh anywho my 2c
  23. Awesome track indeed!! As TMB stated, if your interested in being quick, not the track for heavy cars, if ur just out to dorri dorri then is great. I really rate this track, with such a technical aspect, rewarding guts and precision! My only concern is the lack of run off for the newbies getting a little too much go go pedal happy... this track is nothing like Wakefield where you have room for off's... i would suggest to all new timers to go out and give it 80% and not much more! But that aside the staff are absolutely brilliant and the canteen food is actually bloody great!!!! Great to see another little track pop up giving some hope to NSW motorsport! Marulan DTC gets Ando's 2 thumbs up!!
  24. Stu u were only slightly pulling away from me down the straight and i was topping 190km/h... so yeah i think Pete is pretty on the money with 200km/h.... seemed only about 10km/h difference...
