Hey dudes!!! Sorry to hack up this old thread but am looking at putting in a very basic system into the ceffie soon. My 'retro' cassette double din head unit really doesnt cut it...lol....and the speakers are F&*Ked. I know some 6x9's are easily mount with a bit of mdf fitted or spacers but what size front speakers fit without any modification??? 4"? 5"? Just simply wanna but the speakers, fit em in and be done with it........ big doof doof need no apply here...lol Cheers in advance guys! Ando

Nick - Mate i have NFI whether they have spacers of not. I dont think so as it would of been apparent when they did the tyre swap down at kirrawee. The tyres i am running atm are 205/60/15 so maybe a smaller profile may make the diff. I also am thinking that it couls be something to do with a stuffed spring / shock etc on front left as that is the only side that is scrubbing! James - Will see what i can do.....need to see what finances are like after i drive the ceffie away from the mechanics....will be in touch! Ando
-
MYS013 - Champ i have NFI why my 15" are scrubbing......i really haven't had a good look but my guess for a quick analysis, is that it is to do with some serious camber and also spacers....don't quote me on this thou......am picking her up from mechanics hopefully Friday and will taking her straight to a wheel place to get it checked out......also any speed over 80km/hr causes the steering wheel to shake like a black booteh...me thinks the alignment is way out aswell..... So yeah maybe after this is rectified, might be fine with fitting bigger rims under it!
-
Godamn if i didnt just pay for a new gearbox today i would of been so so keen! Althou my 15" scrub bad enuff hate to see what 16" would do! If you have no joy selling them over the next few weeks or so let me know. I might be able to afford a bit later down the track & had the guards rolled. P.S. What size are tyres on em? All i can see is 205 in one of the pics! 205/60/16? Cheers, Ando

What does the "POWER" dash light mean?
S13Deviat replied to BenA31's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Its definately to do with the auto transmission....as mentioned, i for some reason still have the switch that would of been used to activate/deactivate this power option. It has 3 setting...snow/normal/power....obviously snow would retard the revs, normal well yeah normal, and power makin the gears rev longer. When i flick this switch to power, it lights up on the dash, flick it back to normal and it goes....... When i catch up with you sometime CC i'll show you. I really think it is just a feature thats is useless once the manual conversion is done.... -
yes yes yes....very much drool factor......wouldn't mind knowing how bigger job it was to do the close off the rear doors?! Me thinks is too much effort, but it looks oh so so hot!
-
CC - mate i got same prob.......the seat belts wont retract properly........if u find out a good fix can u let me know! I'll have a hunt around myself...maybe its just the retractor thingy (my technical term ) has given up the ghost! Mate just go the 5 point harness..... u got the seat for it lol Ando

What does the "POWER" dash light mean?
S13Deviat replied to BenA31's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Mate mine does that to. Flashes for a few seconds then turns off. I think it has something to do with the fact that it's no longer auto (assuming u had the auto-manual converstion). You should have a button on the center console, behind the handbrake, that has the different 'power' options. If you flick it to 'power' option it will light up the power option on ur dash. Pretty much, when it was an auto this option would hold the gear longer before the auto transmission would select the next gear, giving u more power. Since it is no longer auto, this feature is no longer valid, thus I THINK why it flashes, stating it isn't working. Once again don't quote me on this, i am a newbie when it comes to these thing, only had the cefiro since Friday. Also i think it is the same deal with the HICAS light which is below the dash to left of steering wheel. Mine is constantly ON, due to the fact that the HICAS has been disabled....... My 2 cents Ando -
p.s. nick, yes it wasn't ur car blowing smoke...that GTR is SO clean, i believe the smoke was coming from ur ears in frustration as i would't get the cefiro sideways!!!! ahahahahaha
-
lol thanks nick! yes she is an interesting package.........will be a few weeks before i am happy with it all.......especially re-colouring the interior and fixing up a few odds and sods that need doing! Most importantly, a good wash, polish, then wash then polish, once thats done...a wash, polish then wax lol......she is quite dirty!!! Oh yeah and rolling the guards....every bump, turn, brake all u can here is zzzzzzzzzzzz, zzzzzzzzzzzz, zzzzzzzzzz tyre on guard action lol.
-
Funny that, i happened to see a Silver R33 GTR blowing smoke, and bunny hop all the way home.......oh and i may be wrong, but i swear it was Blitz behind the wheel... lol Yes yes, the baby is finally in my hands! Definatly needs some work but a few $$$$ and a bit of TLC and she will be all good! Will get some piccys up once i get em! Hopefully see u guys around soon!

Sky80 - Mate a ppreciate the pointer.....thats why i mentioned them as u recommended them! What sort of timeframe will it take em to do all 4 guards?? Is it a in-out job couple of hours or am i gonna have book it in? P.S. Just called em and they said $35 per guard. Did they give u mates rates or something sky80???? They said they could do all 4 in about an hour...that sound about right to you? -
A Cefiro Few Questions!! Help Please!!!!
S13Deviat replied to S13Deviat's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks for the feedback so far guys!!! I am sticking with CC's attitude that i want to register it as i want it to be. So i am having it rego'd as a 2 door coupe, etc. As for the guards i may look at getting some 185's for the fronts and see if it does the trick!! CC- Mate i'll be on the phone to u as soon as i get the ceffie in my hands!!! -
Hey fellow Cefiro owners, I am picking up my cefiro this Saturday and need to get some facts clarified so i can keep the boys in blue happy, and also get some advise......any feedback / answers would be greatly appreciated!!!!! :uh-huh: 1. Roll Cages - The car has a cage in it which runs thru the front to the back. Now as far as i can gather and researched, the rules with a cage is that - * No cage frontwards of the most rear position of the drivers seat? * Rear seats, belt stalks, 'everything' has to be removed * Has to be rego'd as a 2 door coupe * Cage has to be engineered Now if the engineering part is correct, does anyone know where i can take it to get this done (in syd) and what costs??? 2. Rolling Of the Guards - As i briefly mentioned in another thread, the front tyres are rubbing like biatches on the guards, whenever i turn, brake, bumps, anything. It currently has 205/60/15's all around, aswell i think the rims have to have some form of spacers on them as the rims sit out VERY wide, thus why i think they are scraping...ddduurrrrr. Anyways trying to locate a place to roll the guards......i have advised of 7 Day Tyres in Granville, but was wondering if anyone knew anyone who could do it more around my area. Chatswood area. Also has anyone had this done to their ceffie? Wont it cause the paint to stress and 'crack'??? Or do they do it slowly enuff that its all good???? 3. Lastly but not least....... things u recommend to get done once u pickup the car....IE. change oil, oil filter, etc......... Sorry dudes about the questions......just a newbie to the import stuff and just need to make sure everything goes okay!!!! Thanks in advance for all the feedback!!!! Ando

The center thing is quite ugly.......got like a cerated tooth looking tubeular thingy...lol...great description.....

Heya nissaner - Mate sorry but i was struggling enuff to get the trade plate off the dude, let alone ask him questions......there was literally a line up of customers. Am talking to em this week so will pop the question then. Ando -
Hey DC......nice ride dude! Another cefiro to grace the land of Oz. Just noticed a couple of things......i think u got the same rims as mine...( see pic below ) urs 4 stud? Also as i insepected mine today, i noticed something...being that most cefiros, have had a auto - manual conversion such as mine and urs......there are those 2 buttons on the center console, 1 for the aerial and 2nd for the automatic power selection ie power/normal/snow. You can see them in your interior pic, just to the left of the handbrake. Obviously this 'power' button is useless, dduuurrrrr, but was wondering if anyone knows where the wiring runs to as the button could come in useful for other applications......boost, fogs, omg NEONS...fully......lol etc. BTW DC does ur electric aerial button work?? lol mine doesnt ahahaha anyways......top stuff!! Ando
