    Gtr R35

why did it have to be a weekday
  2. I would only run 10psi if you don't want any chance of the turbo dying, if you don't mind replacing it then run more

    R34 Cas

    bump
  4. I had to replace mine, O'Briens did it and it took them only a few days to get one up from Melbourne & the seal from Nissan..
  5. so nearly a month after al my problems started im suspecting my CAS is faulty. the symptoms are: missing sometimes (not always) after 4000rpm missing on idle (quite bad sometimes) stalled once going from reverse to drive (auto) knocking when under load (not always) gave error for CAS when obd was checked have done all the usual checks: changed plugs checked coils afm etc the guys that have been looking into my probs are a very reputable workshop..they suspected the sitc I had installed was causing the error code and misfire possibly so that was disconnected but its still missing and now knocking also..im taking it back 2day to see if the error code is back. but in the mean time..by the sounds of the symptoms could the CAS be a real possibility? anyone else who's had one die/ be faulty have any similar problems? I've spent a lot of money trying to find the problem and I don't want to jump into buying a new cas from nissan unless im pretty sure that's the fix. they want 700 for one..

anyone have one or know where I can get one? (besides nissan)
  7. The AVCR pressure sensor is all hooked up correctly. and its only spiking 1psi (is set to 8psi) but got it to 9psi the other night where it still started to miss. the AVCR seems like its set up correctly now (vacuum lines etc)
  8. This is going along with my other thread trying to determine what could be causing my misfire issues. (not spark plugs or coil packs) shouldn't be R&R because I have an SAFCII and SITC to compensate for that. So I was checking over the AVCR install the other day and I noticed a few things done wrong according to the manual. In the first picture I've drawn in a couple of things, firsty the red line is a vacuum line that was still connected up and also the other nipple on the standard solenoid was not capped off. Could this have been causing a vacuum leak? And also the coupler (ECU) connection was still connected..which I think would have been causing major problems with the standard solenoid still trying to communicate to the ECU? Correct me if I'm wrong.. So I fixed up all those problems and pushed the car to boost to 9psi and it sill started to miss however I'm thinking that could be because the SAFC & ITC have been tuned with the vacuum leak? The things that make me think it would have been these mistakes in the install are the fact that the car misses on idle, not just higher in the rpms.. Opinions on whether these would have caused problems? Would vacuum have been leaking? Would the coupler connection cause problems? (I've only driven the car a couple of times since fixing these things and it hasn't had a miss on idle like it did before and also when it was having its miss when it reached 9psi it didn't seem as harsh as it was before..that could be hopeful thinking though)
  9. That's what I thought it would be but they should have been able to tune it out with the SAFC & SITC if thats what it was?
  10. Might be a stupid question, but I need to rule out problems with my AVCR & the install so is it possible to put in a bleed valve while the AVCR is installed? Can I just change the settings in the AVCR to off in the boost settings part and then fit the bleed valve..?
  11. It was making 180rwkw without raising the boost & just a full 3" exhaust so I have no doubt he was able to get 195 on 10psi while also tuning the safc & sitc..
  12. I just checked the coil packs and it doesn't appear to be them so can cross that one off the list.. Next to check is the AVCR.. after that I'm stuffed for ideas..
  13. I didn't think Nissan's had boost cut as such, don't they just hit R&R when too much boost is being fed? But I figure it's not that because they had the SAFC & SITC to work around R&R if that was it. Oh yeah, not sure whether this makes any difference or not but I was told when he was trying to get it to run at 10psi it was making 195rwkw..could this amount of power be triggering something..? like something reaching max..injectors, afm?
  14. and the story goes on.. Everytime the boost gets raised to 10psi or above the car starts missing at around 4000rpm. I've got everything I need & more to get it running at 12psi which is all I want from it. FMIC, full 3" exhaust, 040 fuel pump, SAFC II, SITC & AVCR controlling the boost. The plugs have been changed and gapped down to .8 When I got the full exhaust on it would boost up to 10psi and everything ran fine..but ever since the AVCR has been installed there's been nothing but troubles. and it has also developed a miss at idle...(which the plugs didn't fix) I suggested coil packs but they seemed to think it wouldn't be them because the miss at high revs is extremely aggressive.. Has anyone else had similar problems... I really can't think of anything else it could be apart from the coil packs..
  15. yeah,I've got an safc ii installed and a sitc ready to go. I als forgot to mention..the car isn't running rich with the boost on only 6psi but its missing on idle. just looking for some ideas..I get what ur saying about getting it all tuned and then see
  16. I had my avcr installed last week and since then have only had problems with my car. it was running perfectly beforehand and never skipped a beat. the car has an ARC fmic, 3" exhaust, pod..the usual basics. the car used too boost to 10psi with the full exhaust on and never had any troubles..was nice & quick. now for the problems, the boost was set on 10psi through the avcr because when they tried 2 go any higher it would start missing..was told to change the spark plugs. whenever the car is pushed past 4k the boost would spike to 11psi and start missing. when I filled up with fuel I worked out I lost approx 100kms of driving with the amount of fuel used. I instantly thought its hitting R&R. so I have set the avcr to allow the actuator to control the boost until I get it fixed up. it stopped missing high in the rev range but now its started missing on idle. opinions on what the problem/s is/are? plugs, coil packs, R&R?? also the avcr should be able to hold 10psi without spiking to 11psi right?
  17. I'm getting an AVC-R fitted tomorrow and I just realised that I should probably be taking along a fuel pump.. I'm just wondering how many rwkw's the standard R34 GTT fuel pump can handle? I know it's been asked before, I searched but couldn't find..
  18. Didn't see you Dave..damn rain..
  19. I saw you first off at the lights turning into Metroplex and thought how close. I take the Gateway, I don't know how we don't manage to see eachother..
  20. ahhh hey! I wanted to get a closer look
  21. I thought it was you...I was gonna wave but then I chickened out..next time.. I'm sure I'll see you around again seeing as we work in the same complex and live in the same area
  22. Not trying to be disrespectful or anything but are these coming from the same guys that are selling them on ebay for like $70 delivered..? It's just that they popped up only in the last couple of days too..
  23. Yeah, I thought they only came in +34 too, but I'm thinking now they might come in a couple of different offsets cause another friend has +38 on either 8" or 9" (can't remember which one..) anyway, the guy I'm buying them off is gonna put them on right then and there and if there's any issues I get a refund so hopefully should be all good..
