What Torque Setting For Wheel Nuts?
75coupe replied to nsta's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have neen using BSA alloy open ended nuts, which fit in the 23mm holes on the rims... very tight fit if you wanted to use a socket... Been to all tyre and car accessories places around, people just look at me weird, (like more than normal)... I ended up going direct to BSA to get em... But I cracked one, and don't want to drill another aftermarket longer than standard wheel stud... they are hard to drill and not cheap... Any suggestions? -

Keeping The Rear Bumper Clean From Exhaust Fumes

Its no special sponge, when washing the car I can usually wipe a fair bit off with my hand even... -
Leave the coil pack cover off, lets your valley have some fresh air, cools your coil packs down... then you can see your investment of splitfire coils...

The Most Stubborn Oil Stains I Have Ever Seen

I wouldn't be using acetone or sandpaper thats for sure... vinegar and newspaper to clean your windows... or to remove crap use some metho... I clean glass and panels with metho before applying vinyl graphics to be sure the surface is free from oil, dust & grease... -
Just a tip don't follow fads... it just makes you look sheepish... Just make modifications to your car on a needs basis... Does your number plate interfere in the air flow to your intercooler or radiator, if yes move it, if no don't... easy

I still don't understand why people insist on asking for other peoples opinions about their new wheels or their new kit asking for opinions...? How about next time you say, "Hey everyone check out my new wheels", rather than "What do you think". If you ask for an opinion you will always get soneone saying nah they suck then you get all defensive or as we have seen in past threads then the person sells them cause they listen to other opinions... I love seeing what people do to their cars, I don't have to like it to be interested, but if you ask for an opinion you will get one, and usually not what you were hoping for... Getting people to like your choice is just a unnecessary validation... Oh yeah the rims, nup don't like em, too heavy, average slivr or chrome... you will blend into the scenery...

I would definitely be forming a theme so the graphics blend in with the cars overall style and colour scheme, rims, window tint, body kit and even brake caliper colour all play a part in deciding on graphics that suit... And yes stencils for painters can be done.... I have even had people rather surprised when I tell them no thats just vinyl on my car, they honestly don't believe me until they actually feel the edges... You could always try a design out in vinyl before getting it painted on, usually even with graphic design I leave a piece hanging somewhere for a day or two too see if it grates on me or not... you soon know if you like it or not... and vinyl is way way cheaper than airbrushed art....

Or you can just go all out and do something that is different to what has been in seen in some movie... Just stay away from tacky, the less is more approach works if the style ideas you have are lame, but you can do something that looks great and stylish without limiting the impact.... Of course I'm gonna say do vinyl, since then if you don't like the design you can change it every now and again and you don't need a respray to remove it. www.metal-ink.net What colours were you thinking? What style, race show, glamour, harcore... some of my newer deesigns I'm doing for myself include blood splatters and slaughter scenes... hehehehe

So does v-spec still stand for "Victory Spec" in celebration of a JGTC championship win, as when the 32, 33 & 34gtrs won the championship, they bought out v-spec versions, just like when they bought out a nur spec... the 35 hasn't won a championship as yet so, no v-spec 35 until it does...?

How do these covers attached?

you just need to waterproof your engine and clean it more often.... coil pack cover is the main area of worry and the pulleys as water equals corrosion

citric based adhesive remover will soften it up...

There are quite a few places in Australia, USA and UK that you can get complete computer systems specifically for cars... A Complete ready made system works out cheaper and easier at the end of the day, but you can save money by building and sourcing parts yourself but not that much and that is a heap to do to catch up to the specifically made car pc systems out there, in built everything... http://www.incarcomputers.com.au http://www.in-carpc.co.uk http://www.gizmosis.com.au/ http://www.mini-box.com - complete bare bones systems including internal car specific power supplies http://www.downtown.com.au/hpc1013.htm http://carcpu.com/ http://www.xenarc.com/product/index-pc.html http://www.cappuccinopc.com/ - just mini pc cases and systems http://www.cartft.com/ - Car Computer Parts & software - A system builder matrix - Best layout and most complete systems...

The painting of bonnets black was a racing thing done in matt black to stop reflected shine from the bonnet to your eyes... If the only thing on your car to be black is bonnet I wouldn't do it, I have painted my bonnet black cause I have a silver car with black rims, graphics, wing, dark windows, eyelids and mesh covering the FMIC, so a black bonnet works with the theme.... But to have only the bonnet in black wouldn't look as good as tying it into other parts of the car.... Maybe you need some graphics? Keep in mind that spraying your bonnet will cost at least $250... and it doesn't make you go any faster...
