hmmm turbos in same price range... 3071, 3076, 2835proS (had to put that one in).... then look at the kando and possibly hypergear threads for cheaper alternatives
-
you already have a PFC and boost control kit? if not consider a different ecu for future proofing I would expect most 3037 users would go an external wastegate setup... yep learn about wastegates for sure... consider flex fuel setup now or atleast keep it in mind for later down the track... because a 3037 will make a truck load of power for a std engine... that will be a matter of opinion and you'll get lots of opinions... what tyres? new clutch will mean a stronger clutch pivot, $60 for a nismo item, its stronger... then your pedal bracket may break, so perhaps weld it up first, depending on your clutch choice...
-
do all upgrades at the same time, then get tuned. dont run that turbo on the std ecu, not worth the problems it may cause... have you thought of boost control? what wastegate? Why a 3037? Running E85 or 98? with that turbo I would be thinking you want to rebuild your engine, if its still internally std, in the next year or so? have you done suspension & brake upgrades? and include a new clutch in the your list of parts to buy, as well as new pivot and new tyres...
-
get some sparco NT or NTII they are the best in the world ever, every other suggestion or opinion from here on is worthless... or it could be that everyone has different taste...
-
well they are around just fewer, and they arnt the same low price/performance as a HG or VG30 highflow, but if the OP wanted real info it could just do a search... standard ecu and turbo upgrade, I rest my case

when people give you replies to the questions your asking, its only an opinion and may not be the solution for 'you' This is why its best to research for yourself to see what would work for you and your taste, and why I dont like these types of threads, you will end up with all sorts of advice and you'll either have more questions to confirm which is the 'best' advice or you'll go with the setup that sounds good, may not work for you but oh well... if you want to go E85 for 'more power' think ahead, but it will all get much more expensive, different ECU, different fuel setup, and if going flex fuel a more indepth tune plus ethanol sensors etc... the flex fuel is min $2.5K by itself.. lots of people using nistune on rb25det not just neo as far as Im aware, but nistune wont support enthanol sensor feedback for flex setup. use bosch fuel pumps, garrett or hks turbos, thats just another opinion, mine. do you want cheap or do you want good... most of the time people do the cheap method and then it will cost you more in the end stuffing around with bits and pieces, and it all adds up... it'll cost way more than $4K ecu $1-1.7K, turbo $900-1.7K, clutch $800, injectors $800 fuel pump $200, this is really MINIMUM pricing and will already cost $4K and that using the cheap ass parts, then plus all the other bits, shipping, fluids, tuning, then factor in problems along the way and then plus labour if your not doing it yourself, $1500 plusssss++++ for labour so my comments about you researching and learning yourself through reading the forum properly is actually the best advice in this whole thread.

say no to highflows.. 2835proS ftw

cracks usually do show themselves once it gets hot...
-
oh, well in that case I wish I had another head to give you...
-
dont you hate it when workshops pull you up on what gets said online in public space in the free world... I just wish I still had the lower section sitting in my garage that I could send over to you...
-
what two 115mm tips on two 180mm rear cannons? enough space?
-
the collector section should be easy to find for sale... I gave the one off my car away for free...

did you use a torque wrench of sorts when you did up the bolts? Im thinking if the sealant used was uneven it could of created pressure on that part. if there was more sealant near cylinder 2,3,4 then that would create a lump or see-saw that cylinder 1 bolt (the flange part that broke) had more pressure on it. could of been like bolting it up to a warped flange. I dont think its clear who or what has broken that part. Still damn annoying that they charged for the tune considering it couldnt be complete, I guess its still time spent working on it though.

Central Coast Old Pacific Hwy Cruise! 3/6/12

Pretty sure I'll be working Saturday till 5.30, oh well, I may just have to play 'catch up' on the old pac... -
I cant see how they justify the cost when the full tune really hasnt been done. Do they expect you to come back to complere the task? Or are they saying once the 'leak' has been fixed its ready to drive?
-
wow there's already a few threads to cover your last question... one is particularly long and full of info... but you've already that, right? RIGHT? nah you didnt, you havnt read or researched much at all have you... the people answering your questions will eventually get sick of answering the same ol questions time and time again, such as I am apparantly.
-
this doesnt sound good at all... Ive got an idea why the motor is loosing compression on the power run... ^^^ how do/did you get a hole in the collector? one would definitely know when they did that...

Hypergear is a company that highflows and supplies affordable turbos in Australia. HKS is company that builds great turbos and so does Garrett You have so much to read and learn, all the info is either on this forum or on the net, how is it you need to be spoon fed? Not trying to be rude (though it may come across harsh) but the knowledge is all here, you just need to take some time and read. You only joined the forum 6months ago, I joined years ago and have been learning ever since... I rarely have to ask any questions, because its all here I just search and read.

wait a sec, what do you want from your car? What do you want it to do? Maybe dont even go down the power path and just go for a better handling setup and just drive and get to track days. seriously once the power bug bites and you start doing power mods, you'll never drive it, it will be forever getting built and tuned and modified again, just drive it at the power it has, get some sways bars, a decent suspension setup and decent brakes and tyres and drive... Sounds like you havnt been into performance cars very long so get used to driving one and then see where that leads you...

I went with the concours 900 and mezerna kit from waxit, i spoke to them and they put together pads to suit my car, apparantly jap paint is softer than euro and usa paint so u can ise less abrasive pads. He was really helpful, no replies via email contact but easy to get a hold of by phone

well what do you think makes white smoke come out your exhaust? There is only a few things it can be and its not petrol thats being burnt...
-
elvis, fonzi I knew it was kind of 'slick' name... I love to do my roof in matt black plasti dip... Im starting to really hate the Import tax from USA to Australia,,, cars are so cheap over there brand new, like almost half price in some cases...
-
all these questions have been answered before with various opinions as well, have a read of the dyno thread for what power mods you'll need, 35r is too big, walbro not my preference... As for cost read through the countless other threads titled 'need some advice' or similar, people all seem to ask the same questions, at the end of it if you need to ask, you need to learn by reading and researching. 400rwhp you dont need a forged 25 35r is too big Authentic bosch 040 fuel pump preferred (larger for E85) 500cc+ injectors, (750cc+ for E85) Get a full ECU like vipec, link G4 or Haltech Have fun getting a engineers cert.. someone else will come in and say nah the 35r will be fine, nah the walbro will be fine, nah the nistune will be fine etc... and then you'll still be left with no direct answer and probably still buy the wrong the parts for 'your' pref and application

hmm white smoke isnt a good thing too see out the back... Its not fuel, has to be oil or water

Nikk_666 is doing vinyl wrap not plasti dip... I havnt done plasti dip myself, but it does look the shit... I lot easier to remove than vinyl too. check out some of the you tube video with this guy Elvis installing and testing it, its pretty cool stuff. If only I knew where to get the spray gun and materials easily...
