seems excessive though to spend $1200-2000 on a clutch for the sort of power were talking about here... any suggestions for better clutches then that dont go over $1K
-
not sure... I know they work, or you can spend another $1200 on top of their price and get a fancy one...
-
so you could getaway with NSK-7056HHDB for $691 Power Holding Capability (At Flywheel): 499hp / 372kw
-
Exedy Extra Extra Heavy Duty Button Clutch Kit (NSK-7056HHHDB) is supposed to hold 700hp
-
its actually rated alot higher than that, the extra extra HD holds 330, this will hold alot more... Hamish is abusing it on his 325rwkw ProS setup, been using it a while too... But I'll look into the NPC clutch too thanks...
-
I got quoted the same amount (including flywheel machining) and Im on the Central Coast NSW.... that was from a brake and clutch place though... so I'll do it myself I reckon... its just heavy, everything else is straight forward. How much power are you running to want to choose from those expensive clutches? Im running 290rwkw soon to have E85 and jump to about 320rwkw.. Im looking at running Exedy extra extra extra heavy duty clutch $738 abouts...

Hanaldo's R34 Gt(T) Skyline Build
75coupe replied to Hanaldo's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations

get plasmaman to send you a 25mm long 4mm walled alloy tube to use as a spacer, easiest solution -

34Geeteetee Daily / Track Project
75coupe replied to 34GeeTeeTee's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
enjoy the lumpy idle... haha when I get time to install the parts... Ive been saying that a while now and all the parts are sitting there waiting, just need lines and fittings... was waiting to see how hanaldo went with sourcing and installing his lines etc... so I guess I should order the lines and fittings and get to it... but I also have a rebuilt gearbox to install too, so clutch and box install before more power and another tune may be a good idea too... so Im in training to bench press an rb25 box into my car whilst laying on the garage floor... lol... -
ok but have you searched SAU to see what others have done...? Pls tell us your not wanting 600hp? 3071 or 3076 or kando or hypergear or get something really nice like a HKS 2835 ProS search those terms for pricing and your done... look through kando and hypergear threads on here for the models and stuff I dont know the models for those brands...

what do you want from your car?
-
cause Im bored at work and this thread made me laugh, I had to express my laugh in words somehow... I chose sarcasm
-
because your looking for a turbo to buy the wrong way... yes learn, like when you build a computer, you dont search for parts you know nothing about, you research then select parts based on gain knowledge and then build you say Im building a gaming machine, what makes a good gaming machine? or I need a business computer what makes a good business computer? or I net a net browsing computer for my grandma what will make it good for her? same with modifying your car, I want a drifter or I want a street car, or I want a car that runs good at the drag stip or I want to do some circuit work... so dont choose a turbo based on a power figure or price tag, but one that does what you need it for... What do you want from your car? your searching for a turbo before you have the knowledge, thats whats annoying... there is a heap of info on here from people building cars for all sorts of purposes, they have been there and done it... sort of like a recipe book for skylines...
-
you do realise the thread title and your question is relative to posting 'How do I go about a sex change?' on a neo nazi forum...
-
yep paranoid, or you could also say that stuff does bugger all... ghost the sys drive and re-format on a scheduled clock from your home server setup once a month... oh what you dont have a home server??? seriously defrag and healths checks are so 12yr old student in 1999 kinda stuff.... you would be better off running benchmarks and when you see a major change in results you know there is a prob, quicker than a defrag or health checks... plus why defrag an SSD? what you dont have SSD??? back to the 600hp turbo... Dont worry about finding a turbo to buy, goto an expensive workshop and go with whatever they recommend after you tell them what you want in terms of power and the cars usage... Im actually serious, because as you say your not into cars that much but you want something faster by the sounds of it, so let a professional choose the turbo and gear they can give you a good result with...

75coupe replied to 34GeeTeeTee's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Id be waiting to install the cams when you have the rest ready, springs etc... if its just needed for daily duties for the the time being... you'll only need to install them again later on, sounds like doubling handling for no reason to me... -
wow are you seriously saying that an 'IT Technician' is recommending having history off and clearing the cache on your browser cause he is scared of what might happen to his computer... really???.. anyways... about this 600hp turbo... have you heard of google? cause the first 2 pages are loaded with '600hp turbo for rb25' results some of which come from hypergear Im guessing you dont know what your getting yourself into car wise yeah....

Removing Bolt On Spacer
75coupe replied to sky017's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Cause u can probably use the studs that currently hd the wheels on If you cut the the spacer you cut those studs as well Us i dont think i would enjoy cutting thru it with cutting wheel on a grinder -

75coupe replied to sky017's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Straight down the middle of the stud Cut studs flush with face Centre punch middle of end of stids Dril with smallish dril first Dril again in same hole with drill larger than stud Use decent metal drills ones for hardened steel would make it a heap easier, dont overheat your drill bit, some drilling compound wil help too -

Removing Bolt On Spacer
75coupe replied to sky017's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Im thinking if youve tried - soaking of WD40 a few times - good whack of the hammer directly onto those flat nut things... - jamming something in one of those holes and the slam of hammer on the end of that with still no joy, it maybe time to look at drilling the bolts out. the good parts is you dont need to accurate, you can just slaughter them... remember of course to cut the bolts down flsuh and drill from there... Im not sure it would be easy to cut straight through the whole face with a cutting disc.. if you have an oxy hand might be easier just to blow a hole and stick an old chisel down the side of those pesky nuts while its still hot... either way your gonna have fun... -
Should I Install A New Clutch By Myself?
75coupe replied to 75coupe's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hmmm, the plan was with one trolley jack under the box with rachet straps, car up on blocks back and front... just goto find the balance point for the box to strap onto the trolley jack nicely, could be just asking for the box to fall on me though... -
