  1. it may just be me being picking but having your 'cold air intake' right over the exhaust manifold cant be a good thing. do you really need an oil catch can?
  2. I wouldnt get a whole car wrap done as its expensive to produce and install and it would be printed vinyl which doesnt last as long as colour cut vinyl... Find a sign shop near you that can cut random camo type shapes in black and gray and you can install yourself... I can produce the camo design for you and sell you the digital file that could be supplied to your local sign shop if required.
  3. cool, Im interested to see how your custom timing belt cover goes, I need to do something like this as well since Im using the rb26 cam and belt covers but dont want to just cut a hole for the vct pulley... are both covers alloy??? I guess they must be
  4. definitely keep going with your project, but please just get some half decent tools and stay safe, use better jack points
  5. ^^^ dont do it, the stuff has a texture to it, I reckon it would get mega annoying to wash... matt or gloss colour not a worry, but unless you can find a smooth CF vinyl or plan on storing youcar in a garage and its only a weekend driver dont do it...
  6. but you do need the high pressure EFI fuel line dont you??? I know thats what I use...
  7. ummm there's no actual price on the receipt... thats not really a receipt if there is no price...
  8. its quite annoying, here I was thinking mine were just getting old and dirty... do the dyno dynamics injectors tick loudly as well....
  9. I reckon just get a fabricator to to make up a couple in sheet metal... look cooler, they can be welded on rather than the rivet and blend method and will be more sturdy which will help avoid cracking around the blended in bits... if I ever do a wide body this is what I'll be doing I reckon... just do some good measurements first and make up some in cardboard first to see what they look like and to give the fabricator something to go off...
  10. no receipt also means he's doing a cash in hand job, no tax to paid by him... let me guess he usually does insurance repair work right??? I reckon he wont be impressed if you ask for a receipt or he'll throw his end away cause he knows you arnt going to claim it on tax.... get a receipt for sure, first thing before anything else...
  11. how wide??? have you googled, cause thats all I did, http://www.topstage.com/shopping/ http://www.aeroimagegarage.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=&product_id=70&category_id=&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=2 you could try driftshop as well...
  12. yep that sucks and your not unique in your troubles of finding decent businesses to do work on your car. I needed a brand new fibreglass bonnet painted, it took me three goes of attempting to pick it up, each time finding obvious problems, first was runs in the paint, second was a thumb print right in the middle at the front and third was they then sanded right back to the undercoat and didnt notice, eventually they got it ok. but the thought of walking in there and having to tell them there was still a problem was aweful, especially because they started treating me like I was a problem customer, when all I wanted was for the paint to be done professionally. Another time different painter, getting rims painted, it took me another three times to attempt to pick them up, each time the guys getting more and more annoyed with me for picking up obvious problems... and yet another time, and again different painter, a different set of rims, the painter thought it was ok to have a matt sandpaper finish, ummm no I did actually want a gloss finish... another two times to drive all the way out to his workshop to have him and his biker mates glare angrily at me as though I was again being utterly pedantic, no I just wanted glossy finish which I thought was a fairly obvious thing to ask for... So no, your not alone, and I have yet another painter Im going to try, this time my front bar, Ive seen his work, he seems nice, please just let this one be decent... Yours can be fixed, dont loose hope, you just need to find the right guy, then never loose his number and dont date his daughter...
  13. you could easily run 18x11 +15 check out http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp
  14. I reckon you could almost spend 1.5k on maintenance, all fluids and filters (gearbox, diff, engine, coolant, brake fluid), wiper rubbers, new suspension bushes, tyres. then if you have left over funds sway bars...
  15. AFM plugged in properly? check vacuum hoses? what are boostpipes & dump valve?
  16. way off topic but where abouts is that photo taken..?
  17. 'Splitfires were just a cheap replica' - no actually they are a more expensive replica... and you also stated 'OEM units aren't "as good" they are simply better' I agree they both do the same job. Ive never reduce the gap on my plugs and I still make more power, sooner than you with your OEM coilpacks and supposedly large spark gap...
  18. I agree Hanaldo... but unfortunately not everyone thinks that way... sargerx8 has stated 'can say that these OEM ones are better than my old splitfires' 'OEM units aren't "as good" they are simply better. Splitfires were just a cheap replica' with no actual fact to go with the statement just personal experience which is flimsy at beast to be honest
  19. Ive used a fair few HP and Dell's and not had any major build or quality issues... whatever one you get though get an extended warranty of atleast 3 years.... I currently have a DV7 6014tx
  20. woah, 'My turbo on 20psi will flow more air than your turbo on 21psi' where do you get that crap from???? Why bother running larger gap on your plug? what benefit is there? power made is power made, people dont say oh my car can do 0-100kph in 4secs with a plug gap of 1mm, who cares what plug gap you use, its the torque the engine makes thats important.... OEM coil packs are possibly just fine, but splitfires seem to be just as good from most peoples experience, my have lasted over 4.5years with no signs of problems...
  21. He was using yellowjackets.. and still running less power than I do with splitfires... where is the performance increase... I havnt found any problems with splitfire coil packs, OEMs are possibly just as good, but I dont see many thread saying splitfires arnt as good as OEM... either way, coil pack cover off with stock bonnet is fine...
  22. hmm I have splitfire coil packs and run 21psi and NEVER miss... sound better than your rarely miss... I dont run a coil pack cover, I do have a vented bonnet but I would never let water get in the coil pack valley, thats just asking for trouble Ive read your with yellowjackets sargerx8, but seriously they are know not to be consistent... I bet you have actually never used splitfires.... your just sayin what you have is the best right solution right??? yellowjackets are just another cheap part solution...
  23. oh and you bent up part of your chassis rail by the looks of it in the jacking up process. find better lift points
  24. you need some decent tools and some experience, it seems your doing more damage than good... so far, youve ruined a piece of perspex for no gain as far as I can tell, and it looks pretty crap you have bent the strut brace mount metal then you rounded off the nut holding your front upright onto the tower perhaps start by washing the car and give it a polish and measure the before and after reflections (shinyness and effectiveness of the washing process) of your car. surely nothing can go wrong in that test.
