  1. Im not having a go at you or your product and I didnt mean it to sound that way at all... but I did say 'rejigged to get consistency' not better results whether you like it or not your car that you post up results from using your turbos is your demo car... and we've all read how you've set it up to be a normal reliable skyline that any run of the mill owner may have, and I thinks thats great. but I still prefer the HKS turbo, no if or buts, I like what it does and I dont mind paying for what it offers, and no one can put forward and figures or controversy to say Im wrong in my opinion....
  2. yeah for sure, if you can seal the valley cover then that'll stop the water pooling in that area. if you dont mind all the other parts getting wet which just makes a mess of the engine bay then its all sweet... I just found I didnt like the look of the engine bay with corrosion or watermarks on everything when I opened the bonnet so I didnt bother waterproofing the valley cover. plus 290rwkw in the wet really isnt heaps of fun and since its not my daily I just wait for dry days to drive it.
  3. Im not saying the dyno is being happy for you or anything like that, but your setup has obviously been gone over so many times and rejigged to get consistency its better to see results from people who have chosen a turbo, installed it and got it tuned so thats its totally not biased and a real world example, like were not grabbing results from the HKS demo car are we imagine the argument we would have if we did... no here is saying anything bad about HG turbos themselves... just laying out the differences between the choice in turbo selection and whats involved to get the setups right.
  4. ahhh I see, so to the drags we go then eh... or better still option video style touge battle RB25 - HG vs 2835ProS...Hei!!!
  5. Ive had problems if its parked in the rain, Im not using the valley cover but it was only keep ing some water out, not all... the most annoying part was the water all over the parts, I like a clean engine bay and the water makes everything dirty, corrodes alloy (alternator, head etc...) makes your steel fan belt pullies have surface rust form. no really a problem when your driving, the problem is when your parked, I wash the car with the bonnet up and dont park in the open when its raining or I cover the engine under the bonnet with a tarp...
  6. I do have a vented bonnet, the vents are in a similar position as the ztune and Ive been looking for a ztune in CF to replace my current bonnet...
  7. ^^^^^ +1 to everything Dave said, shame HKS doesnt have a formal representative on these forums...
  8. I got some -AN adapters from G J Drivelines, good price easy transaction via email, tell him what you need and he'll help you out... cheapest price I found on earl's adapters too... http://gjdrivelines.com.au/Earls.html
  9. love has no cost Harey
  10. Hang on a sec, your saying a front facing plenum and an aftermarket air intake is maybe allowing me to make more power... huh there are heaps of thread on SAU saying these mods make no more power... so which is it???
  11. enough talk, overlay the dyno plots.... lets see which has more under the curve... and not using some demo car thats been tweaked to get a curve.
  12. huh???? are you saying my tuner is falsifying my dyno readouts as well...??? wtf
  13. 245rwkw @ 11psi...??? I want to see the graph
  14. how can you not have a alloy corrosion issue with water and heat and alloy all in the same location.... no troubles??? was your valley cover waterproof? otherwise how did the water get out of your valley area? unless the vent in your bonnet wasnt over the engine?
  15. 289rwkw for mine on full load.. rounded down 0.3 waiting on E85 though.... and to the OP, this whole 300rwkw thing that people want for a street car, its simply overkill, I reckon 270rwkw is a heap enough in rwd street setup
  16. x3 for 2835 ProS... the expense means nothing once you drive it, it performs great, no mucking around trying to make it put out the numbers looks trick sounds boss... /end
  17. yes you should be concerned... rain on an eb engine aint great, the spark plug valley fills with water and you get bad missfire, the water has nowhere to go so you have to remove it manually using a hose and some good ol fashion suction... best to get a bonnet that has a plate that can block the vents or atleast redirect the water so it doesnt go on the engine... the genuine nismo ztune bonnet has this... plus there are alot of alloy parts in the engine bay so with water and some heat they will corrode/rust not the best look to a nice engine bay, I dont really drive in the rain anymore, but Im looking for a new bonnet in Cf that has vent blocking plates or I'll get something made that is removeable for dry or wet days...
  18. yep agreed, just do it and report back with pics... most of us are illegal already anyways...
  19. I recommend you get someone to do all the work for you with warranty, otherwise I reckon we'll be soon reading another thread titled 'fresh engine installed, but still having problems'
  20. yeah bummed there is no r33 gtst discs in the sale
  21. you can just knock the stud out the back of the hub. search on here in the DIY thread Im pretty sure there is a tutorial for it or possibly somewhere else on the forums... but yeah you can just knock them out, will need a good couple of hits to move it... just dont do that to studs you want to reuse it'll squash the first few threads...
  22. well if your considering buying new ones you may as well have a crack at fixing these by perhaps opening them up and seeing what you can do... and of course report back here to let us know how you went...
  23. are these hairline cracks only visible when the lights are on???
  24. no the brakes wont be fine... no the diff wont be fine... then you'll probably find the suspension will be sloppy so there's another upgrade needed... so not worth it... buy a turbo model
