  1. Im just finishing off a heap of changes on my rb25, and was thinking the briaded lines feeding my new turbo could use some protecting maybe, Ive got the exhaust housing ceramic coated, and the dump and front pipe heat wrapped already Am I being overly pedantic to want to use heat resistant or flame proof insulation on the braided lines? Ive seen other turbo installs using braided lines with no ceramic coating and no hose protection and the owners seem ok with running like that, but would it be recommended to use some protecting sleeves on the lines? As for General Cooling Im running a vented bonnet, a HKS oil cooler, a ARC super induction box with air feed from bonnet, and of course a Greddy FMIC & radiator air guide along with a RIPS front facing plenum, all in the name of response and cooling... I was thinking of making a front undertray/splitter with air guides to the front brakes & oil cooler located in front of passenger wheel.. would making it out of alloy sheet be ok or does anyone have other suggestions? it would possibly be out past the front bar by 3inches or so, it may be only track friendly. Any other cooling suggestions?
  2. Does it have a Meister R logo on it, generally their parts have branding on the underside.

    I Wonder Why...

I agreee^^^ but no the OP had to come on here and spout, Oh Oh but Im heaps cooler than them, like who cares... dont worry if people judge you with their looks... They might be thinking they dont like the colour of your car or your music who the hell knows and who the hell cares. And ummm R35 is not my dream car... if its like stock standard you can get a stock standard car anywhere...
  4. I had RDA slotteds on my 33 and they didnt handle the track days very well at all... maybe Im just hard on my brakes... DBAs next time, and if I munch them Project Mu
  5. well done, I reckon your've installed a fair bit of vinyl in your time by the looks of it....
  6. I dont think you will have that much problem with stone chips really, you could always do gloss black lip acccent on the front bar so you have two layers there or a even just a clear gloss layer, you know that paint protection film... Have you done the wing mirrors yet? Im keen to hear how you got on with them as they are really round it will really test the stretching application technique...
  7. NSW 2262 postage price?... make me second in line if BNCR33 doesnt take it...
  8. I reckon a couple of grand at least to cover a car like this, remember its not material its labour that is expensive... Thanks for the reply Rush... Is that new quick release material coloured is it??? Ive used chrome with a laminate over the top but wrapping a car with that would really be hard if not impossible to make it look good, the the two layers together dont stretch too well... Anyway I think the any vinyl will outlast the print that is on it due to fading etc... thats why I always used vinyl cut coloured vinyls, the colour lasts for years and takes a beating and it doesnt mind being polished, whereas the matt wont like gritty car washes etc.. maybe Im getting too pedantic... Im sure no one looks that close except the one who owns it and the person it designed the vinyl yeah.... Keeps us updated on this for sure, you'll be stoked once its finished, I reckon definitely do a gloss black design over the top, even just something subtle to really give it that wow factor...
  9. That will end up looking nice man good work... Just be careful and Im sure you probably know this already but it can mark rather easily and it will be the sun that effects it most... I cant wait to see it finished it will look cool... Are you doing the door jams as well, they would be the areas I would most dread doing, so many curves.... For anyone considering doing it, it would be the labout that would make it an expensive option, if you can install yourself go for it, but it is alot harder than covering small to medium pieces.... I havnt seen the car wrap vinyl with the air release system in colours other than white as yet, I was hoping to see chrome so that printing on the chrome would become basically a anodized look... Anyone seen any materials like that around yet? I can think of some great designs for that type of material... id you consider leaving any white glossy accents or designs anywhere on your car?
  10. you can try creating a small black hole in the tip of your exhaust Im fairly sure I remember reading that nothing escapes a black hole not even sound.... Other than that, no, not on this short notice...
  11. part number perhaps? just to be sure which ones they are
  12. well dont do them in crappy fibreglass and they wont crack will they, metal all the way welded on right, the paint wont crack, it could be done, in fact I want to try it now and some crappy 4 door just to see how hard it would be
  13. yeah which CAS are they to suit? early or late R33 series 2?
  14. Any way you can think of doing it will be hard on a 4 door, unless you can weld and do some simply sheet metal fabbing, fab up some rear guards then once tacked on you would have to cut them at the door line and weld in the sheet to finish it off where the door finishes, if you can weld give it a go... it would be an ungodly cost to get it done professionally... but to just get the spraying done to finish it off, wouldnt cost nowhere near as much,... But really let me guess, you wanted to have the most dish, so you found some rims that you could afford and now you want to make em fit, its really not a great way to go about it unless you really think it though first...
  15. lol maybe its reading the RPMs right??? I initially thought nah calibrated wrong, but the head gasket did blow after doing something...
  16. That is cool... What colour loctite did you use?
  17. what exactly were they adjusting? there is no way I can see of actually tuning it other than timing? Turning boost up until it runs lean I guess
  18. Im guessin gold coast unfortunately for me...
  19. So I gather that when you say coilover you are wanting something adjustable because thats supposedly the good stuff right? just get a decent shock and good spec springs and you have your coilover, if you dont have huge amounts to spend look for decent brands in good secondhand condition, but just keep in mind that just because a mate has 'awesome' adjustable coilovers that are all shiny doesnt mean he will have the right spring spec or have them on the right damper/height settings for the car... most times they dont... adjustable doesnt always mean good... they may be great for track or racing, but for street with no DIY alignment system and no real suspension setup experience its just not practical... see what what the people in the motorsport section are running and why.
  20. I watch for sale threads, a bit of ebay and some word of mouth, its definitely just alot of patience, I didnt find all the parts at once, I had to collect them over months and then do installs once I acquire everything I need, but I dont like paying shelf prices... I recently scored a pretty much brand new ARC airbox with a very good condition filter $440 delivered rrp $700+ delivered, a brand new HKS 2835pros $1600 rrp $2300+ and a R.I.P.S intake plenum for $400... you just have to search and then wait and then search some more....
  21. having adjustable coilers may sounds really cool, but whenever you change the height wouldnt you need to get an alignment done to sort out the camber change associated with changing the geometry by lowering, right....? I got a set of brand new bilsteins for $650 delivered and found some 6month old king springs for $150 lowered the car by 25mm roughly, got brand new whiteline F&R adjustable sways ($150 each with linkage) and brand new bushes all round ($60 each front & rear), brand new whiteline pineapples ($40 delivered) and then alignment from Selby, best thing ever... If your patient you can find bargins here and there, save yourself heaps and get good products too... then install everything yourself, save more money and enjoy the fruits of your labour... Im the bargin finder king...
  22. has this seriously been going for 4 pages... just turn down the boost... youve basically got a standard gtst there. want more power spend more money, its pretty straight forward I would of thought...
  23. well its made for the gtr bar, and you can see those tab bit at the back of it in the centre, they are made to fit into the gtr bar so it could fit but your bar would need modification and then you need a good way to make it a solid mount... but if you do it let us know how you go...
  24. I have an r33 S2 fuel pump I have just removed to upgrade if your interested...?
  25. that really sucks... imagine how bad it could of been though, it could of hit you...
