R33TOM replied to benl1981's topic in General Automotive Discussion
that interior sure looks comfy, benl1981, could you hear the turbo spooling up? or is it like dead quiet and you cant hear crap from the cabin? -

i guess most of these cars they have is for their weekend cruising, for the young ppl its for weekend and night drifiting on the mountains, majority of population use public transport commuting to work, with such an efficient public transport system why wouldnt you use it?

Yep i bought my car from Joel as well, hes the man to go to for a skyline, the cars he sells are in top shape. Vey clean looking and most of them has a bunch of quality mods on them. Hes prices are hard to beat for a fresh import. Im so jealous of your nismo bodykit, i want it on mine damn it!!

your posting on a skyline forum, where 99% cars on here are turbo, your gonna get a pretty biased answer. Get the turbo! Maybe you should go for a test drive in one. You just have to drive it once and watch that smile come on your face. I had similar dilemma before buying my skyline that is before i took a test drive and bought it on the spot.

Ex-ftoer Needs Some Advice
R33TOM replied to Tailchaser's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i purchased my 1997 Series II R33 GTST from aussie car compliance, www.aussiecarcompliance.com.au the price i got it for was very good indeed, joel the owner of the compliance shop was pretty cool, he did a really good job compliancing the car, new tyres, full service also regassed the air con, condition of the car was immaculate! for a 9 year old car it was in really good condition have a look on hes website, hes just got a few series II's in, give him a ring and organise a test drive, hes more than happy to let you take the car for a spin, and if you get the chance, let him take you for a spin haha did over 130km/h on victoria road castle hill, hes a crazy driver if your planning to do the modding, i highly recommend getting a fresh import thats either stock, or only had minor mods on it, they have less mileage on them than the ones sold here and will most likely has less problems, a few members on here purchased their cars from him, and they were all pretty happy with their cars, ill stay away from envy imports, the sales ppl are rude and arrogant, i originally was going to get my car from them, for the same price i would have goten a 94 series 1 skyline that would have alot more mileage and less mods than the one i got, their prices are way over inflated, same again with the dealers on parra road, they just put some new chromies on the cars and give it a fresh coat of paint and jack the price up another 3 - 4k than what the the car is worth shop around and do alot of research on prices as they vary alot on skylines, i spent over 2 months going through dealers online ads etc before i settled on buying my car from joel hope that helps -
used car dealers, they're all the same, how else do you think they make their money, i wouldnt believe it if its not true. why would you think they're so happy to take your car and sell it for you, they rip you off and they rip the car buyer off,

no the magnet doesnt have to be slim, theres heaps of room in the doors, plus the magnets on 6inch speakers are not big, your have no prob at all fitting 6inch speakers
-
who cares about fuel economy, you drive a skyline not a toyota echo, if i want fuel economy i wouldnt be driving a skyline, enjoy it while petrol is still affordable, theres less and less oil in the world, in 10 years time we'll prob be paying $2- $3 a litre
-
nope they got taken over by another company or person, just ring their head office and your get someone, i rang them 2 weeks ago to have one installed it was $575 with central locking, alarm + 3 point immob, if you want i can give you the contractors name that installed mine, he knows the in's and out's of a skyline, and you can cut out the middle man and save yourself some money send me a pm if you want the guys name and number

i think alan installs brant alarms? www.brant.com.au
-
if the amp doesnt get enough current it would cut out, what size power cable your using? should be no smaller than 8 gauge cable for amps
-
kenwood makes some good 7X10's very bassy, recommend getting a good amp for them
-
whats the best alarm? its a bit like asking whats the best car? everyone has their own opionions on which ones the best, it really depends on how the installer installs the alarm, alot of ppl had a brant nemesis installed, which is over a grand, you get a keypad start, again depends on how the installer installs it, i just had a standard brant one installed for $500, i just called brant headquarters and booked it through them they do mobile installs so it was quiet convenient, the guy knew the in's and out's of my R33, he does so many of them he had all the wiring and everything all ready to go before he even came to my house, the install was very professional, i highly recommend them
-
what the hell, what has this world come to, they even steal air con units?? who could you sell that to? its not as if you can put it into another car besides a skyline
-
get some window cleaning spray, should take it right off, or try some turps, did it fix the window problem though?

R33TOM replied to sky88's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
yeah, its such a waste wrecking such a nice car, have you exhausted your options on getting complianced? maybe try another state? im pretty sure theres a compliance shop that can get you compliance, -
the tyres came with my car, so i got no idea where the tyres were originally purchased, its odd to think a good brand like bridgestone can make dodgee tyres, ill prob keep an eye on it next few weeks and see if anymore pieces come of it,

What Does The Power Button Do?
R33TOM replied to R33TOM's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
ah cool thanks for the reply guys, so the button is a bit like the econ buttons on the ford falcons, where you can turn it on to stop it from holding onto the gear for too long, hence increases fuel economy, while the power button is the reverse, it will allow you to get more power out of the engine, currently i noticed if you plant your foot down, the engine still revs to 7k, what will be different if power is switched on?
