  5. when you have such an awesome engine you dont really want to change too much of it, just minor improvements each model change, if it aint broke dont fix it, same as the SR20DET that engines been around for awhile as well,
  6. just wandering what setting people have their coilovers set to, like damper and height? for australian roads currently my cars running TIEN coilovers and i think the dampers are set too hard, the ride is extremely bumpy, the car came directly from japan and i think the dampers were adjusted for their roads or it was adjusted for track use, the car handles like a go-cart and it feels like your sitting in one as well, i live on the northern beaches and the roads are pretty shit with potholes and cracks everywhere, also is it best to take it to a suspension specialist to get them to adjust it or you can do it yourself?
  7. nah no burnouts, i did take it for a long drive up to palm beach the other day, the road was extremely crap and the road was extremely uneven, could have happen on that road, i wasnt exactly going slow either, but still to have big chunks taken out of it, looked as if i ran over something metal and it was sharp enough to dig into the tyres
  8. Hi all just realised today on the front left tyre on my car has chunks missing, its on the outer edge of the tyre, i got no idea how that happen, it couldnt have been the tyre hitting the guards since the suspension is extremely stiff, its running TIEN coilovers, could running over a sharp concrete edge could have cause this? these are brand new bridgestone tyres now theres big chunks taken of the tyre, whats odd is its just the front left the rest are fine, theres no scratches on the rims and i havent been hitting any gutters anyone had similar thing happen to their tyre?
  9. depends how you drive your car, you can get less than 200km out of a tank if your hitting full boost everytime you put your foot down, or drive like a granny and avoid hitting boost at all you can get over 400km out of a tank,
  10. Hi everyone for the ppl that live on the northern beaches, any suggestion of a good mechanic to take your car to get serviced? Im after a decent a garage that knows their stuff with skylines, i really dont want to take my car out to unique autosports every time i need to get it services, any recommentations would be greatly appreciated : )
  11. I know this topic might have been covered before, try searching but cant find exactly what im after, as you can see from the topic its about different brands of fuels, I just purchased my R33 skyline not long ago, i noticed it runs quite horrible on Vortex98 fuel for some reason, that fuel isnt cheap either, Ive filled it up with optimax and noticed immediately a big improvement, car now idles very smooth and more torque, Is caltex fuel not up to par with Shell fuel? when i purchased the car originally it was running normal shell ULP, the car ran better with that than the vortex98 stuff, could it possibly a bad batch, what is everyones opinion on vortex98 and optimax?
