Blue tint would look alright on a Red car to me. Was more on about the durability & effectiveness of the tint itself. The only reason I will be going to Tint-A-Car is for this tint, didn't really think much of their customer service when I called them. The guys at Autoperfection when I called where friendlier & more helpful that way. Only thing is I haven't become a club member yet to get the discount.... Do need to do something about that.

This is actually encouraging, I'd rather have to wait around another hour, for them to do the job properly than get a shit job done on time. This will be the cars third lot of tint so I want it to be right! Hmmm funnily enough I wear polaroids, Bolle's no less! Almost sounds like the tinting itself is polarised, which would help explan such issues. Face 2 polarised surfaces 90 degrees from each other & all you will see absolutely nothing through them.

Didn't actually find anything about Manta on the Bilstein websites, but will give them a shot

His group buys are long gone & his business went into liquidation, hence I am looking elsewhere

So not to overcomplicate one thread for people who may search these later I thought I should keep this subject separate. Also while I have my interior stripped I am going to get the windows retinted as I have a damaged rear demister from the last mob that did it (I will name them if I'm allowed to!). Specifically they somehow managed to cut all but about 2 or 3 of the bars, so I am going to have to get the tinting steam removed first, repair the damage to the demister & then when I am satisfied it's fixed, have the windows retinted. I also need this done due to scrape marks on the door windows & the drivers door glass having been replaced. Anyhow from reading I've done, there appears to be 2 places that are the go for re-tint, Autoperfection & Tint a Car. Tint a car appears to be the only one that sells Bolle tinting from what I have seen so far & they are asking a significant premium for it ($50 more than their next best & at least 100 more than Autoperfections best product). The big claim to fame with the Bolle tinting was that it is rated to reflect 90% of heat, where as all others are all only about 70%, which is a 2/3rd reduction, so quite significant. Has anyone on here tried the Bolle Tint and able to give a reasonable opinion on it? I am quite curious about this, but not sure if it's worth the extra coin. Cheers

Hello again peoples, After saving a significant amount of cash for a Plazmaman FMIC kit, I have realised since getting my line back on the road that the part I'm least satisfied with is the suspension. I am now considering a set of Springs & Bilstein shocks especially now that I have stripped out the back half of the interior (which needs to be done to access the rear strut towers) to improve the ride & handing & maybe stop me hitting my head on the roof when I come across a bumpy road! I have called Car Torque for a quote on the Bilsteins & some King springs, which all up came to $1290 (940 for shocks & 350 for the springs), which sounds reasonable for such a set up. Does anyone recommend anywhere else I could get these parts? I did a search, but didn't turn up much. Also would like to know if there is a suspension shop in Adelaide that people recommend (I don't know if people still recommend action suspension just going on previous threads), primarily if I bite the bullet & go get adjustable bushes as well. Going to need to find someone with a 10 tonne press before I get carried away there though..... All comments welcome, cheers

Nope they won't do that, & I doubt they have a supplier that would. Have to have some pretty precise equipment to do it. All the flow rate is limited & also angled by is the four tiny little holes on the outlet. Only ever saw it done once. It worked, but flow rates were a bit variable & so were the spray patterns. If the holes aren't made precisely the correct size & position they will all flow different & may not spray straight into the ports like the should, as well as the chance of poor atomisation of fuel.

I will say it again. I personally use Allneeds computers. Wayyyyyyy better service for the same price or just a bit more (and even sometimes less) & if you have a warranty issue they WILL help you out. Just try & do the same thing at some of the MSY stores & see what happens...... I've actually had CS for nearly a year now, never actually updated it, suppose I should have though. Ran a lot smoother once I OC'd my i7 to 3.2GHz, but with Direct X 10.1 switched on, it still struggles with heavily detailed active scenes with things like heavy rain, looks spectacularly realistic though.

Thanks for this guys. Didn't know about Static Ice, has given me renewed hope. May even call Allneeds just to see if they can still get them, if not these are priced reasonably & will give me the killer performance I am after. The main game I've got at the moment that struggles is Stalker Clearsky. Would be a lot more fun with 2 cards on the go There's a snag with the Antec 300 case, it only comes with one fan, so if you want it to cool sufficiently you need to spend extra on another fan for the front at least.

This is the major issue now. No one has any 4800 series cards anymore, just when I was ready to buy my second card they dissapeared off of the shelf in prepariation for the 5800 series cards. I actually got my HIS card from Allneeds as MSY didn't sell this card (also an OC job 770MHz instead of 750, not quite as big a gain that way, but the price difference wasn't that great), and they also have much better service with still competitive prices. Also went for this because the equivalent Zalman fanned Gigabyte model was actually quite noisy unlike the 4850 version.

2x 5850's will KILL a 5870. The difference between the two types isn't that great. A 5850 is basically a cut down version of a 5870, with about 70-80% of the processing power. Put 2 of them together & you do the math.... Same goes for 2x 4850's vs a 4870 or a 4890. In fact I think I read reacently on Toms Hardware that they were about the same performance wise as 5850. There's nothing wrong with the system you have, should be able to make it last a bit longer yet.

Actually for 3 way SLI it works out to be 16x8x8. It splits the second lot of 16 lanes over the lower 2 cards in 3 way SLI. Completely useless though unless you happen to own a super expensive hi-res +30 inch monitor. 2 slots is pleanty 2x 5850's would be awsome, but still rather pricey at the moment & a bit overkill IMO. If I can get a second one of these cards it will be by far the best bang for my buck at the moment, just going to have to keep an eye out. 2x 4850's should see some pretty good performance, probably starting to push the limit of your CPU.

Running a Core i7 920 clocked at 3.2GHz on a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 motherboard. Can run 2 cards at full 16x speed. If I end up making the jump to a 5870 it won't be until they have halved in price. Not going to happen for a while though, especially since Nvidia is yet to release their competitor. I have a feeling they've been caught with their pants down & weren't expecting ATi to improve as much as it has in the last couple years. Either that or they're looking to make something that will totally dominate, though they may run out of development funds if they don't look out.....

Most 4870 cards are a bit noisy, trying to keep my system as quiet as possible. 2 4870's also give more performance than one 5870 so worth the relatively small investment 5850 would be good enough by itself, but don't really want to spend that much. 4800 & 5800 series cards are also not compatible: http://game.amd.com/us-en/content/images/c...combo_chart.jpg

After a HIS 4870 IceQ4+ Turbo 1GB graphics card. If any of you just happen to have one they want to sell PM me. Before anyone asks, the reason I'm after one of these cards is I want to run it with the one I have already in Crossfire. Cheers

^^ Agreed & going to give you more power potential too. Also if you get a second hand pump, don't be surprised if you have to pull that bugger out again only 12 months (or 12 minutes) later because it was already nearly worn out.

Yes generally Japan has never sent over the driver with the best talent rather the biggest budget. Even when the only reason there's a Jap in the car in the first place is that a Japanese team/engine supplier, has insisted that they have a one of their countrymen in the (ahem) 'second' team car, they'd still pick for the size of the wallet & not the talent. I have been watching F1 a long time, but never remember seeing this incident. Not going to forget it now either!

May have to get my GF to whip up something for us.

1 coil pack failing won't stop the car, should start but will run rough as 1 cylinder will be dead. Cas or Cam Angle Sensor is mounted on the front of the engine, though you won't be able to see anything wrong with it even if you pull it off. Requires specialist equipment to diagnose. If you want to check that your timing belt isn't broken pull the oil filler cap off & get someone to briefly try to start the car, if the cam isn't turning there's your problem. Could be any one of a hundred different things though, even a blown fuse. Wouldn't hurt to check them. If you need a workshop (and by the sound of it you almost certainly will) start by telling us what area you are in.

I am personally very interested to see how Kobayashi will go this year. Save a couple Rookie mistakes, he did very well in the couple of F1 races he competed in last year, possibly the best driver to come out of Japan in a very long time.

The main problem for Ferrari the last couple years has been the amount key people that have changed/left the team. Schumacher, Brawn, Tolt for starters.... Every team wants to win, it's just a matter of if they have the know how & the budget to follow through. The addition of Alonso should be an added strength, although if Massa proves to be too competitive (which is a good chance) it could be a repeat of the problems at McLaren. Unless that is Alonso has learnt from that..... So who knows, I'm not going to be making bets either way that's for sure. I'll still want Webber to win anyway

In a nutshell any deacent trans fluid will do. Doesn't have to be Dextron. Running Penrite 10 tenths in mine, probably a bit overkill
-
Could also be a problem with the contacts on the switch that the stalk connects to. Had to change that assembly on a friends R31 once. He had no left headlight until I changed it. Try what other suggestions have been put up here as well first. If you really get stuck & are in the western suburbs I'd be happy to offer help. I'm an electronics tech & have done more than my fair share of wiring work on cars lately....

Apologies, got a little carried away

^^ Is ****actually still running the place, last I knew he'd been off work for quite a while. And as for *****do yourself a favour & go elsewhere, if you don't have something expensive like a Ferrari or a Mercedes they don't give a toss. I've still got problems left over from their work 4 years on & I found a spot of rust on the edge of my boot lid the other day where they had to cut it back too damn far from being lumpy. Not happy Jan
