  1. Hi peoples, sorry to return to the pages of SAU with such bad info (I've had a rather busy 6 or so months fixing 2 cars), but my friends R34 was stolen from around Kilburn last night. It's a Black GT-T coupe & had 18 inch chrome 5 spoke wheels on the front & stock rims on the rear (no not for burnouts 18's were worn out & he's been a bit strapped for cash), mirror tinting on the front windows, DVD player with flip out screen & somewhat more unique a Towbar! The vehicles rego is XOS-369. Anyone with any info on it please let the cops or us know. Thanks
  2. My old man received a phone call at home from the Cops tonight. The Loaner was found a burnt out shell, no doubt after being used to commit some sought of criminal act. As far as insurance goes, yes Mike does loan them out to customers for free, but there is a $500 excess I will have to cover + I've lost several hundred dollars worth of clothing etc. that was in the car (from staying at the girlfriends). Whatever I take to work now (if I decide to keep working in said shit hole) is going to be an excessively secured shitbox so no one bothers touching it
  3. Already thought of that. Had it planned to get some. Now I wish I'd had them already! Bit of a worry 2 times it a fortnight, almost wonder if it's the same guy, which if the cops had done their f*@%ing job would have been locked up by now. I'm going to be causing a major storm at work tomorrow too believe me!
  4. I still can't really believe I'm writing this, but I turned up at the end of work today to the car park to find my loan car (courtesy of Doyles) has been flogged. Full tank of fuel too. If anyone see's a white '89 EA Fairmont registration UYU 678 (& Doyle crash advertisement) please call the cops. Thanks
  5. Yes all this stuff it what I was on about hey. I do understand that people need a second chance in life, but not a dozen chances & this is the problem. It also stems back to the penalties that younger people receive for committing crimes. They know they can get away with it, without any real penalty & by the time they are penalised for their crimes when they get older, it's already too late & they will always be criminals regardless of what kind of rehabilitation they are put though. Some people just go beyond the point of no return. Having said that the penalties are no where near harsh enough & that means there is no incentive to stop committing crimes too. I've heard the term several times, 'all humans should have basic rights' well these crims in jail seem to have a hell of a lot more than 'basic' rights. What human should have the right to watch TV or play Playstation, when they've made someone else's life a living hell. I also think they should be made to work a certain amout while they are in jail to contribute back to the public what they've taken, & until they've completed that required amount of work (whatever it may be) they don't get let out. Maybe then they'd have an appreciation for how hard some people work to get what they want, rather than try to take shortcuts. On another note, I'm definitely not going to be taking my car to work again. Rang the crash repairer today & it's already up to over $3600 in parts that I require, a lot more than I was expecting. Time for a daily me thinks, not real happy about it as I'd rather drive my Skyline all the time, but it's just not worth it now with so many 'too soft to do the hard yards' people out there.
  6. Was wondering about that, guess the crims want one of them for the same reasons I would. Do have some alternatives so I guess I'll have to look around. Cheers
  7. I'm not keen to say what I had in the thing yet, but it wasn't a cheap system & fitted by a supposedly 'reputable' installer. They made quick work of it & I have a feeling they've stuffed it, whether or not they would have known what to do to get it going is another story, but I won't elaborate too much there. Going to be contacting the guys that did install it though & see what they have to say. No offence Steve, but if you don't make a statement & say that it's not ok to be doing this stuff, they'll just keep doing it, & that's exactly the signal that the government is sending out by allowing this stuff to keep happening. If you keep bending over, you'll keep getting reemed. Unless I start stealing things from people that spend endless hours of blood sweat & tears on their pride & joy I will never be as low as the assholes that try to steal our cars. It's not just a car, it's MY CAR & I've spent a lot of time & hard earned dosh getting it to where it is now. I will now have to SPEND all my overtime money I've earnt so far this year & was saving for a good frontmount on fixing/replacing things on the car as it will not be worth claiming on insurance. Hardly seems like justice to me. Don't think I'll be able to enjoy driving my car to work every day anymore, it's just not worth the risk. It's not just posessions they take away. It's part of our lives too.
  8. Appreciate the offer mate, I've managed to score some other wheels to get by on until I get it fixed so I'm all good there. As far as security goes, my alarm system just hasn't cut the mustard by the looks of it as it was completely dead when I got to the car, so they managed to kill the siren pretty easy. I think I'm going to seriously up the stakes as far as the security goes on it now. May even consider satellite tracking. I'm also seriously thinking I may buy another car to communte to work in (something like maybe an R31) & keep the 33 at home. Our security chief at work was very surprised the cops didn't turn up as they had been there before for previous break-ins. The system just seems to be getting worse. Personaly as far as I'm concerned if someone is being disrespectful or trying to steal your property you should be allowed to do whatever the hell it takes to stop them, & if that means killing the assholes then so be it. People who try to gain out of life by taking things away from others who work hard for what they get are scum & we'd be better off without them.
  9. Not the best of starts to the weekend. Got a call at work today to say my car had been broken into. Went out to the car park to find that my drivers window had been smashed & then looked closer to find the covers on my steering column, lower dash panel & kick panel had been ripped off & wires were dangling everywhere. Drivers door trim had been damaged & I later noticed that the controller for my monitoring interface has been ripped out too, only thing that they stole in the car. Not that they didn't look in the boot for stuff too. Rang the cops etc. & even though there was a witness & a glove left behind in the car (plus some foot prints on the bonnet from them jumping the fence) they weren't going to bother even turning up to the scene. Apparently this happens too often now for them to bother. What chance to we have when the law is next to useless I ask? Penalties for these assholes just are not great enough, I'm now looking at at least $1500 in damages, but it's probably not going to be worth claiming on insurance. I will say this much though. Car theives, look out, because if I'm the bastard that catches you I WILL make it the worst day of your life, regardless of if it's my car or not. If the cops aren't going to start doing anything about theft I damn well will. I'm so furious right now.
  10. Doyle is usually pretty quick once he's working on a car. Wouldn't expect it to be much longer than a week for him to fix it. You should either see if you can get the manifold fixed first or try & get a loan car from Mike. What insurance company are you with? 3 weeks is pathetic. Shannons had me sorted in no time & you don't have to worry about quotes . I'll be sticking with them for a long time yet, they've looked after me pretty well.
  11. Thanks again guys for another good night out. Those Mega Schnitzels are nasty, going to remember not to touch the salad bar first if I have one of them again I think I spent the next day digesting that thing! Nearly got duped out of my free beer by one of the waitresses who wanted to take my plate when I had 1 measly piece of meat left. Was good to see you all, cheers
  12. Do these wheels sit on the hub correctly? Ie when you put the wheel on the car does it sit centrally or drop onto the studs? I had problems with my rims vibrating/coming loose as the hub centre on them was too large. Got some hub locators made up (CNC'd from marine grade aluminium) from a local wheel specialist. Fitted them too the wheels & problem was solved . Was still worth it in my case as I got the rims 2nd hand really cheap.
  13. They do require an aftermarket BOV, but it can easily be made plumb back. I'm sure if you told them you wanted it plumb back they could make the required pipe you need as the vehicles they show their kits on have plumback BOV's fitted with hard pipes.
  14. Well I've got my tune pretty close to nailed now. Only running a target boost of 10 PSI at the moment, but I found that if I wound the gain down to 9 with the target set at 10PSI, I get very minimal variation in boost & there is absolutely no issues with Rich & Retard. Having the SBC I-Color I can do RPM based boost mapping so I'm now running a dual map with Gain set to 20 up until about 3750RPM & then down to 9 above that. This set up gives me both a snappy bottom end (full boost as low as 2100rpm!) while maintaining acceleration throughout the rev range. Boost graph is almost dead flat apart from a couple small dips of less than 1psi. I think it could be even better yet & I may go as far as making 3 or 4 settings for different parts of the rev range. However before I do this I am going to try a similar set up with Manual mode.
  15. I am considering this kit, but don't have enough peso's for that one yet. Also unsure about getting the full kit due to the height of the core (340mm as opposed to the regular 300mm most cross-flow frontmounts use). If it hangs too low I won't get it up the driveway. We had to ad some plates at the bottom of the drive because my front bar was missing by only a couple of mm just crawling (stock ride height & front bar). Also I could purchase the plenum in the future once I've done several other performance mods. Thanks for the info. I'll look into this further Yeah I know your car makes big power, didn't quite get to the dyno day in time to see yours in action dammit! I guess it's just a matter of how far ASE would be willing to go as well. Was already looking to them for a custom catch tank, but thought their design for the frontmount wasn't anything special, only looked online though. Wouldn't mind having a squizz under the bonnet of yours actually. I know you don't live far from me Will check them out. Appreciate all the responses so far. Cheers
  16. As stated previously my long term goal is at least 300 RWKW. As far as the cheap kits go I won't touch one. Anything that requires excess chopping (which it seems most cheap kits in my research need) & has questionable quality of fitment, appearance & performance is just not going to cut it. Kits like Blitz, HKS, ARC & ARE are others I am considering, but nothing less end of story. I like my quality & I'm willing to pay for it. Call that arrogant if you will, but my ride is pretty clean so I want to keep it that way. The main reasons I like the Plazmaman are the pipework design & presentation. So I'm really just questioning if they have the performance to match. If I can get that confirmed I will be getting one.
  17. Hello there peoples, This has been a lot longer coming than I would have liked, but I'm just about ready to invest in a frontmount for my Series II R33 GTS-T. Of course if I just wanted a cheap Chinese kit I would have had one ages ago, but that's not my style. I'm after the best quality, best performing & best looking intercooler kit I can buy & so far that has lead me to the Plazmaman Kits. While I really like the quality & the appearance of these kits, I am yet to find any opinions on how well they perform. Doing a search on here surprisingly turned up very little apart from the fact they are meant to fit really well. The pipework is clearly a good design so I have no issues as far as the layout of it is concerned. I have considered going for the larger kit, which has a much bigger 680x340 (as opposed to a 600x300) core, but have reservations as to if this is practical for a street car as far as ground clearance is concerned. I do have long term ambitions of making the car quite a bit more powerful (at least 300 RWKW), but the larger core may be overkill anyway. I have looked at the Blitz ARE & ARC kits that have been recommended in other threads & while they're probably up to the job the Plazaman Kits have the edge presentation wise. They make some pretty bold claims on their website, so I would just really like to know that they live up to the hype. All opinions welcome, cheers Jared
  18. I'm running the SBC i-Color myself. I'm running it in auto mode at the moment & just setting the target boost level & gain. There is a lot of settings on the thing so I've still got a bit of playing around to do. I'm surprised yours feels flat when you turn the gain up. Mine gave a solid kick in the ass when I had it up at 20 (probably a bit high for a stock turbo but didn't spike) but the boost level was starting to run away when you hit 4000rpm & peaks at roughly 4800 (the graphing function on this thing is gold). I'm running a target boost of about 10psi & I've turned the gain down to 12 but it's still not quite right yet. Raises boost by about half a psi in the same rev range still, which is just enough for the R&R to kick in. I'll also add I'm still running the side mount intercooler, which seems to be affecting my boost levels depending on the ambient temp quite a bit. May take me a little while to sought out 100% yet, but I'll post up what I find is reliable as a basic setup.
  19. I'm having the same issue with my blitz SBC but it's nothing new to me as I had the same problem before. You've probably got a tune on your SBC that's too aggressive. Have you checked your boost graphs at all? I get the dreaded rich & retard (not boost cut, that's a full momentary shutdown) at about 4800rpm due to there being a boost spike to do witht the cam kicking over. I've wound back the gain & it has suppressed the spike, but it is boosting slightly too high still at that point. A bit more fine tuning & it should be soughted.
  20. These are what you call pintle caps. All those caps do is retain the O-Ring seal on the front of the injector as. Older injectors these were essential as they protected the exposed valve pintle (tip of the valve that influenced the spray pattern) from being broken off. The plate on the end of these injectors protects the pintle as well as determine the spray pattern so it's no big deal. You can get them replaced if you really desire (they cost bugger all anyway) but all the tags are is a reference for how far the cap needs to be pushed on. Unless they are cracking down the side I would worry too much, but hey if you have them out it could be worth while for the sake of a few bucks. Whoever you get to clean your injectors should have all the required parts. Cheers
  21. Sounds good to me, been a while since I played down there. Count me in
  22. Try looking in something like the Forced Induction thread. I'm sure there's plenty of info there
  23. I'll put my hand up for a ride in that case too Andrew . Didn't think it was running right at all from what had been said. I was very happy with my result, just wish I had a front mount, car suffers badly in with power in the heat. Yet to dyno the thing on a cool day.
  24. I'll be in for another social meet for sure. Add me too
  25. Thanks very much to Joel & his missus for organizing & orchestrating the day. As well as the guys at Boostworx for hosting & running the event. I think enough has been said about Mr Soarer already, but he is a TOOL. Thanks for making the vid too typevu, was got to see a couple of cars I missed due to being late arriving. Was still fitting the EBC that morning & then found out my indicators weren't working when I went to come down. Got there in the end though
