Yeah not really expecting the roads to be empty. So for anyone thats interested: Meet Point: Macca's cnr of Springvale Road and Maroondah Hwy: Time: 9:40 meet for 10am departure. Destination: Via black spur, either going to the famous buxton burgers at the igloo or parmas up at Alexandra.

Racking up quite the tab there dezz. Most people record both business & private trips in their log book. It's from this you work out your business usage percentage. Otherwise shortcut is to just record business travels. Total that up over the total KM's over the period and you get your %.

Theres a few United 100ron petrol stations near Sandown as well so should be easy

Alot of united places now sell 100ron. Can't say you will notice a difference unless you car is tuned for it? You might get lower knock levels perhaps?

Alex is correcto. Don't need to keep the receipts for fuel. A reasonable estimation of fuel costs based on the business KM is sufficient

Oh man lol Purpose of a Log book is to figure out the business use %. This business use percentage is then multiplied by the 'actual costs that you incur' Cents per Km method is just a set rate x Km's you travel. Up to a max of 5,000km

You can claim approximately 75 cents a kilometer up to 5,000 business km. i.e. If you did for the 2012 financial year 7,0000 Business Km's Spent $6,500 on receipts Had a log book showing 80% You could either: a. Cents per Km method = $3,750 B. Log book method = $5,200 You know what I mean?
