  1. What about Federal SS595 tyres? Theyre cheap also. I got quoted $148 for 235/45-17. Federal also make a semi slick track day tyre 595RS 235/45-17 $330

  4. Im suprised ACL dont make any pistons for RB20's. I spoke to ACL tech dept today, he said most ACL pistons are of a 'utectic' style piston, the race series are just a little lighter and have a lighter pin. Ill find out tomorrow if the Hypatec brand is available for RB20's.

  6. I priced genuine Nissan +0.50mm pistons at $74 ea and rings $174 (trade). $618 and 2 weeks ex Japan. I imagine std size would be around the same price. Im interested if there are any aftermarket Hypatec type pistons available for these engines.....

  10. Use a genuine Nissan filter, they are cheap, better than ryco rubbish!
  11. Iridiums would be the go. Most iridiums arent long life like platinum plugs but are longer than copper. Go to your local Toyota dealer and get them to look up in their Denso catalogue and cross reference a set of iridiums, about $19ea.
  12. Thanks Sydneykid, fuel rails aren't my thing so I knew someone would have some info. Got me wondering now.......might be just fuel pump or a dodgy injector, no. 1 has had a hammering over time. I forgot you had a new fuel rail Tim! Yeah somewhere around 200RWKW, 17psi, std 270cc injectors and 070 fuel pump
  13. Ive just spent hours last night looking at pics of high powered GTR's and most seem to feed in each end and out in the centre, so looks like i'll give it a go this way. Thanks for your thoughts.
  14. I just want to get an even fuel delivery to all cylinders. Ive had no. 1 piston detonate and know a few others with the same problem and we think it's due to that cylinder being the last in the rail. WRX's have this problem too. Isn't it common for GTR's to have a dual feed or centre feed rail?!
  15. I want to make a custom alloy twin feed fuel rail for my RB. Does anyone know what is the best position for the inlet/outlet hoses? I was thinking an inlet on each end with a centre return? Or is it better to have a centre feed and returns on each end? Please help! Matt
  16. *For R32/R33 with VCT blocked off: Sydneykid says use a 2.0mm restrictor and block the other one off. Cubes wants to use 2x 1.5mm holes If the RB30 has 2x 1.8mm holes, I wonder if only 1x1.8mm hole was used whether it would be enough??? *For R33 with VCT working: Sydneykid uses 1x 1.5mm hole and the standard VCT port MonstaS4 uses 2x 1.5mm holes and the standard VCT port All that happens if you dont use them is more (too much?) oil gets pumped into the head than is needed when it is better off in the sump!
  17. I have an old EMS dual sport on my RB20DET. Have had no problems with it and it runs well. An EMS stinger or Microtech would be good also.
  18. I didnt have any trouble getting my balancer off with a puller but the lower timing bely gear is a different story......

  20. I read this whole tread a few weeks ago but but didnt bother to read the VCT info. Now I have a few questions as im now looking into an R33 head..... 1. After plugging up the VCT hold and redrilling it and making an external oil feed line etc, where do most people attach it to the block? 2. do aftermarket cams work with VCT? 3. Does the R32 RB25 head need extra bits welded on it to give more metal around the coolant galleries or is this just the R33 VCT? Thanks, Matt

  25. I have complete wiring loom, coils, ignitor etc for a R32 GTSt, you could use with one of your engines and just get a gearbox?? $250 lot
