I am thinking about buying a few import vids - can anyone recommend any particularly good ones (more skylines the better) ? Where is the best + cheapest place to buy them from? Pit stop charges about 39.95 for all the ones I have seen cheers..

tilting the lights down does very little as HID throws light out in all directions.. when I tried to get mine levelled, it came up with a blank reading.. i think a special headlight assembly is required, but not 100% sure

I just recently installed HID in my R33. Highbeams work fine. Have been past many cops and haven't been picked up yet. The only attention I get is from other cars and pedestrians due to superiority of light compared to the halogen. Make the car look really cool at night.. It would be interesting to know the legalities as they are pretty damn bright!

Will th eabove make much of a difference for a N/A in terms of performance? How expensive are they? ta

It may be an idea to get the supplier in Japan to hide any expensive detachable stuff in the car....boot/behind panels etc I had my expensive gear mailed seperately - I didn't grudge paying $100 postage for $2 grand worth of gear.

what is RAC? - I think you guys call them the RMNA or something like that. The guys that you call when you break down. I have an aftermarket Bosch kit with H1 8000k Bulbs - the kit was on my car when i bought it from Japan, but unfortunately one of the HID bulbs was blown. It took extensive searching (6 months) and alot of dosh ($300 for 2 bulbs/globes) to get the replacements. I DID NOT use a different headlight assembly - just fitted it in the normal assembly. They initially appeared to be too bright, but now that I have had them in for a while, I think it is more of a case of the light being different and superior rather than illegal. I would like to hear from anyone who has HID Xenon kits in their cars and if they have encountered any problems at all... CHEERS

Is your mates kit on the Civic roadworthy? ie doesn't blind other drivers? Did he have to get it re-adjusted or any special housing assembly put in? Thanks

I have put an aftermarket HID Kit in my R33 - just got it checked by the RAC who have verified that it is OK for road use. HOWEVER, the lights are still pretty bright while driving - I suspect that a different headlight assembly may be needed ....? Any one with an aftermarket HID Kit in their Skyline please PM me..

Cheers - I don't think many people in Perth have aftermarket HID Kits....?... If anyone has a HID Kit in their car, please PM me? Does the headlight need to be adjusted as they are pretty damn bright..
