  1. Was good in '02, great in '03 - we'll be there.
  2. Nissan one screws straight into the factory bracket (if you still have it, see pictures). I didn't have much luck with aftermarket ones, Pulsar ones from 2000-2001 (I think...) are cheap and fit fine.
  3. The CBD is 50km/h (unless otherwise stated).
  4. The R33 GTS (2.5L not the 2L) is a great car. Had one for the best part of 2 years and unless you're driving around with Ts or Rs you won't notice it's power shortfalls. The driving position/handling/dynamics of the car are very good and you cannot beat the insurance discount for the younger drivers. I highly recommend one if a) it's your first Skyline B) young driver c) can't throw too much cash at it (initially and ongoing). I borrowed an R33 GTR recently (8-10 months after having my N/A written off and driving around in a fairmont) - everything was still second-nature. So go for the N/A drive it around for a couple of years and then buy a GTR.
  5. Biggest thing is to set a realistic price! Work out what you want and then knock a grand or two off it.
  6. I don't think this story will get you far in court...unfortunately.
  7. Throw as much as you can at CPU/RAM for what you're doing. I don't believe the HD speeds are going to make a cost effective difference, and today's IDE/SATA drives are pretty good with a decent CPU behind them. I would definitely set up RAID, not sure which way would be best for you though - fault tolerance or throughput, or both if you don't mind using 4 disks (minimum for 0+1). Once you've worked out your parts list send me a PM as I reckon I can compete with MSY, and my firm sponsored the SAU team at Autosalon...keep it in the family!

  9. Fellas, do you reckon you could thumbnail your photos? Dial-uppers are going to love this thread...

    New Toy

Me too...I always found it fascinating until I stumbled on to a car advertisement shoot. The mount is currently under "modification" however so I'll putting up some much nicer photos in the coming weeks - just have to find a nice, dark Skyline this time.
  11. Damn...
  12. Great day, very good turnout and the weather was fine (except the sunburn). Here are some photos... -Greg.

    New Toy

Shots were taken at 200 ISO (lowest possible) for 4-6 seconds. Madsens Cameras & Imaging (NSW, www.madsens.com.au) is where I got the mount (among other things), can't recommend them enough.
  14. Tested the new camera mount out tonight... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=54256
  15. Just drive down it. From memory it's further towards the Eastern Freeway end.

    New Toy

Bought myself a new toy last week - a Manfrotto suction-based camera mount. Took a whole heap of photos tonight (the light was fantastic!) but here are a couple of "test" shots using the new mount. Yet to perfect the angles/placing etc. but the mighty EL Fairmont comes up alright if do say so myself. -Greg.
  17. What about spectators parking? (I've never been to Sandown)
  18. I don't like the sound of this "wang drinking"...
  19. Fantastic day for us. Thanks heaps to Snowy for driving us up to Marysville and a massive thankyou to James for letting me take Golgo home! Best 3 tanks of fuel I've ever bought...
  20. I'm looking for pics but all I can hear is crickets chirping... (I only have a couple as I left early, to be put up once I've looked through them).
  21. I have several different tripods/mounts including a nice new Manfrotto suction-based mount which I'll be trialing in (and on) Golgo this weekend. If I make it down to Sandown I'm willing to let you guys borrow some stuff as I tend to handhold my still shots, and I don't care much for video.
  22. Congratulations on the new camera, a very capable beast. Here's my critique (as a fellow photography enthusiast)... * Exposure - notice how the sky is mostly blown out and the shadows casted from the body are harsh? There is a lot of haze/glare in the shot, even on the subject. This could have come out spectacularly a few hours later when the sun was going down or gone. * Composition & Angle - I would have liked to of seen more of the rear of the car. Perhaps even the whole rear by shifting the entire shot along to the left but still leaving a third of the shot with the bay in it. * Post-production - every shot taken from a digital camera can benefit from a little work in Photoshop (or whatever tool you use). Attached - I've set the black & white points, brought back the highlights a little, saturated & sharpened. But anyway... hope to see some more of your work soon. -Greg.
  23. We gotta talk about this...
  24. If that comic book doesn't win it there's something wrong. We had enough of that "grungy/scratched/dirty/arty" stuff last month.
