  1. To be dead honest here, a bigger dump pipe will only give you around 2-3 extra rwkw if youre lucky. I've had first hand experience. With a catback and a pod, it made 173.xx rwkw. I changed to the split dump and got exactly the same. Ok i MIGHT have seen .5kw extra i dont know. But when i changed to a Tomei Dump($500) i got 175rwkw. I only saw a tiny increase in torque and maybe .5psi. However it did have an angrier growl at WOT compared to the split/stock dump. My tuner laughed at me and said "Told you so". Reason why i changed the dump was ONLY because i heard people saying it will do this and that to your car. So i learnt my lesson and upgraded the FMIC and splitfires. I havent had it back on the dyno yet but my tuner reckons it should easily crack 190rwkw judging by the way it pulled. So yeh all im saying is Yes, changing the dump will be beneficial, however the gains arent that much. If you had a bigger turbo, then yeh it will make a big diffy. I wish i had kept my stock dump. There are more benefits to upgrading to a fmic rather then a bigger dump pipe on the stock snail.
  2. U mean to say that they thrashed the car after the alignment? Anyway, they dont need to drive the car anyway. Idle hunting could be a simple fix - aac valve and other things. Ur running a series 2 rb25det? The clunk could be a million things. Hows the oil pressure? does it boost ok? any funny sound at idle? What mods have you got? EDIT - sorry i re read your post and figured you have an rb26 not rb25.
  3. IMHO - stick with the stock dump. Save the money, buy and ebc and increase the boost. a bigger dump will increase torque by a little bit and might give you .5psi extra. But hey, thats just my opinion.
  4. rofl. follow through?
  5. I once had just a catback exh. I decided to upgrade the dump/front/cat. Once i upgraded it all, im not sure whether it was just me or that i lost a little bit of responsiveness HOWEVER the boost hit ALOT harder and the exh had an angrier growl to it(no cats/reso's etc). It pulled ALOT harder throughout the rev range. Have to be careful tho as you might get boost creep, which an ebc might be needed for then.
  6. a bit off topic here but my dads old rd28, we ran it without the thermo fan for a lil while and it seemed to rev alot easier. more responsive, even tho it was diesel. Iv heard that the gains are offset by the power electric fans use, so go figure. Of course i dont have dyno sheets to prove but only for 2-4 kw its not worth it imo.
  7. I kinda had a similar issue when i bought my car. It has Potenza lowered suspension. In the wet, it would go hairy everywhere, even in 3rd gear turning right at the lights at 30k. At first it was fun but got scary when it happened everytime i turned. BUT it no longer happens. I changed to Goodyear Eagle F1's and boy it sticks like shit!!!! even in the dry giving it heat in 1st, it hardly squeals.
  8. I hope they have more restarts during the big race. Wonder if itl be the Vspec or just the base model.
  9. fowled plugs. what plugs u running? just clean em up.
  10. Hey bud, have you done a diagnostic and see if any codes come up? For some reason it makes me wonder if your water temp sensor is on its way out perhaps. I think its code 13 for the temp sensor.
  11. 850+Nm. Damm! Would love to see that thing haul some ass! I only pray they somehow magically mate a manual gearbox to that beast.
  12. When it starts to creep, do you actually FEEL the extra power? or does it go no where, ie no extra pull? Get what i mean? Just a wild suggestion but have you checked your base timing? i had a very similar thing where my timing was retarded by 3 degrees.. set it to 15 and it helped with the creep issue ALOT. does your car have a stock solenoid?? if so try running through there and see if it creeps??
  13. Hey bud, was it doing this before you put the turbo on? I had a similar issue with my stock turbo, i had a turbotech boost tap and it would creep up to around 15psi. I finally pulled it off and put the stock solenoid on and it holds boost fine.. Where have you tee'd off the tap? tried a differend tap? u using the same diameter hoses??
  14. {hijack start} my ms-ibc is on its way over the ditch. haha yea!! {/hijack end}
  15. Yeh i had a skim through other websites. Its ok cos i managed to negotiate the deal with them. They sending it across the ditch for 280 all up inc shipping! Dam thats cheap. Local websites sell it for $499!
  16. Nah just measure the voltage from where you're tapping the ebc to. do you know what diameter vac hoses they are?
  17. Hey moodles thanks im just in the process of buying that puppy! haha. only thing is that they dont accept credit cards for international orders. damit. Anyone know of any other site that sells the msibc cheap?
  18. Are you able to measure the voltage and see how much juice the controllers getting? It could be that if its not getting enough voltage. how thick are the vacumm lines?
  19. +7 is 1 bar or 15psi roughly... halfway would be around 7-8 psi. just be careful when using the stock gauge as itl be hard to see the tiny needle haha. you dont want too much boost btw what other mods have you got?
  20. from memory they were seeing around 1700-1800hp at fly.. im not 100% tho.
  21. I just took a pic of my engine bay.. hope this helps cuz
  22. Hey bud, from what i understand, your running your boost gauge as well as your ebc off the 1 pressure source(fpr vac line) correct? is your factory boost gauge still hooked up? If so, why dont you try teeíng your boost gauge from the factory boost gauge line. And T your ebc off the FPR vac line. Im thinking that because you have those items being fed from one line, theres a bit of "lag" till whn the ebc senses the correct pressure, thus it boosts to 15psi then settles down. Also, are you using lines off the same thickness?? Could you post up a pic of how you'v tee'd it by any chance??
  23. It shouldnt be any internal damage i dont think. I suppose it doesnt make any funny noises when you drive/boost? Can you post up the last dyno run before it "blew"? It could still be a boost leak somewhere, but the turbo would be working harder to "make" 12 psi or whatever you boost. What was the peak boost you had? Just a wild and noob suggestion - have you reset the ecu? since you said youre running the stock ecu, and if thats the case, able to swap ecu's or even the CAS with a working one off your mate? You say that its boosting ok, does that mean you can "feel"the power as before? or you feel the turbo boosting but you dont go anywhere, is that the case? Whats the timing set to?
  24. where did you t off the solenoid? what other mods have you got? im thinking of getting the same type of ebc as you
