  1. id say around 7k shud be safe, not exceeding 7500. the hydraulic lifters dont like too many revs... to me thats the biggest factor.
  2. i second that. iv heard alot of stories of the walboro pump. i would either get a GTR/25t/Nismo fuel pump.
  3. i just bought a kit for $610 NZD. arriving tuesday and installing it the following weekend iv read reviews and seems good so far.
  4. did u get a chance to see what the duty cycle was?
  5. LMFAO.. hahahaha thats hilarious.. +1 for wank factor.. i wonder if it needs a bov.. hahahaha
  6. hmm it really depends hw it was tuned, wot size turbo, boost etc.. eg.. say u had a T04e turbo or a 2530 then it would make peak power in the mid range eg 4-5500 rpm etc.. if u used a bigger turbo it obviously make the peak power later on in the rev range, say 6500+.. the above is a very broad generalisation so dont quote me. if u had a smaller turbo, you wouldnt need to rev it so much to make the peak power therefore MIGHT get "better" economy out of smaller turbo since it runs out of puff after say 5500rpm or so.. therefore you wouldnt necessarily rev it past that range everytime.. where as if you had a large turbo which made peak power later on the range, you would NEED to rev it that extra rpm to get that power, thus putting more stress and using more fuel. get my drift?
  7. to some extent yes, i had a cheap wet type pod in my car on the dyno, then on the 2nd run i changed to a Apexi Power Flo Pod, unshielded pod and i saw an extra 2-3rwkw on the dyno. i can post the dyno sheet up but it would be kinda hard to tell which run it was cos i had about 6-7 runs on the dyno.
  8. sweet mate thanks for that. i have the greddy profec Spec II but not installed yet.. hav the standard hi boost mod to an incabin switch.. hopefully it doesnt spike as i heard it does if u have the standard solenoid setup
  9. ok well i just paid for it. i was emailing justin and he reckns that i dont need a seperate nipple to tee the w/g off.. said i can use the nipple provided for the bov.. but im using the stock bov.. i suppose i could use that right....?? wont give me any overboosting?
  10. bro i lost about 13rwkw when i had a silencer in my exhaust. it made the engine alot more revvy and boosted earlier. take it off and take it for a drive.
  11. dont you all think its a bit sheepish/childish comparing the R33 and the 32.. does it really matter if the 33 is quicker but can be outhandled by the 32? anyone who owns either one of those two will surely modify some aspect of the car.
  12. the Hybrid kit is costing me $620 NZD delivered. i dont think the GREDDY will be a similar price?
  13. awesome thanks guys. ill get the fmic this week and let you know how it goes much appreciated.
  14. yer its one of the coolers that use the over the radiator setup...
  15. i think i just creamed my pants!
  16. hmmm thats awesome ill find something to mount it securely so that it doesnt move with engine roll when i drive
  17. hmm so i can mount the pipe a bit higher but just have to secure it.. thats not a problem.. but would the cooler mount up if i move the pipe a bit? how does that affect the fitting of the cooler? sorry iv never installed a fmic so dont knw much, thus the newb questions, and yer i have searched for days.. couldnt find the hybrid installation guide which was on here.. so yer
  18. yeh i would love the stock return pipes but a cold air box wouldnt fit at all.. i just hate the idea of chopping up the fan
  19. hey all. im about to purchase a hybrid(HDi) fmic kit for my 25t. the biggest concern for me is that i dont want to have to trim the fan blades of the visc. fan. is it possible to NOT cut the fan and just run it a lil higher? Kinda urgent as i will be getting it in a few days.. if i have to cut the blades then i wont get it.
  20. id suggest get the wheels changed to steel ones and keep the boost levels low till u can save up for the full shebang ecu tune and fuel.
  21. i second taht. happened to me once.. at idle, th gauge would read at eg -20 rather then -30 or so.. check the gauge hose that hooks up to the T piece off the plenum, was split! its def a split hose/leak somewhere. u might hear a hiss at idle too.
  22. hey mafia, iv read your WMI closely over the last few weeks. im actually quite intruiged. i have the SAME car as yours except its stockish full exh and filter putting just over 180rwkw on like 10psi or so. running everything stock inc ecu etc are you able to post up some pics of the installation please? i had a look at ur old threads but the pics wouldnt load up. i was planning on getting the Stage 2 Boost Cooler™. so how i understand it is with my setup, i wouldnt expect any power gains? since i wouldnt be altering the boost levels at all(for now). feel free to email me pics etc if possible [email protected]
