  1. Cheers guys. Sydney Kid, I know it gets annoying re-typing the same stuff over and over again, but thanks I will take your advice with BCPR5E gapped at 0.75mm/
  2. I thought the RB30 was taller by a few CM? Joel, you can take a boost controller off. Its *slightly* harder to change the bottom end
  3. duh, i'm going blind
  4. Na man, my mate has a 253 powered (not sure if 253 and power should be used together) HX Premier. He has spent more on his engine than what my whole car is worth and I can toast him with ease. (sadly this story is true) I sware that electronic BOV gave me that performance edge.
  5. Skylines are sh1t. Im buying a VN commodore... BTW bov's are nothing more than a wank item.
  6. Gota a pic? A GTR with roof racks would look kinda odd. I like the idea. Picture a GTR with a kayak on the roof towing a 14 foot tinny.
  7. Cool thread guys. What about the legalities of the big block? Its an older engine and that could cause probs right. What mods have to be done to the R33 to get in to fit in if any, engine mounts ect? Is there plenty of bonnet clearance?
  8. How many have you got, I'll take 2 PM me with details.
  9. What boost are you running Improvise?
  10. Zahos, I wasn't having a go at you. After reading my post I can see how you might have thought the whole post was directed at you. Only the first part of my thread was aimed at you. The rest went on to explain exactly how a bleed valve WILL bring boost on earlier. I felt I needed to expalain it because I didn't think that people had got the message, and it was never expalined in detail. I explained the situation in a more precise detail with respect to all wastegate air bleeds so anyone could understand. You did mention something about the sonenoid, bringing on boost faster with a bleed valve, but remember that you did say things like, "normal bleed valves are crap" and "It is a plain and simple fact that bleed valves dont bring it on my quiker." There are no two ways of interpreting those one liners The last comment was only directed at the people who were bagging bleed valves without any reasons and to all people who like to argue furiously without a shed of reason for their opinions. (not necessarily in this thead or forum, just pisses me off becuase it happens all the time on forums) I too think a good debate can be very healthy as long as people give information with their opinions instead of just saying that "it is how it is because my mate told me" Your posts generaly have good content and I always try to explain what I write so people can them make their own opinion
  11. Cheers. What do you think would be a good gap for a r33 with just a zorst filter running 10psi. I was thinking 1mm or maybe .9, it seems to be missfiring under boost atm, the plugs are still from japan.
  12. I find this to be slightly wrong. The inital statement says a bleed valve will not bring it on any quicker, but then the explination goes on to talk about bringing boost on as soon as possible. The difference being ANY quicker and QUICK AS POSSIBLE The explination is correct in saying that NO* pressure must reach the wastgate to bring boost on in the fastest possible way. *Well at least not enought to move the actuator. But, the fact remains that in a stock application the amount of creep is proportianal to the amount of pressure the wastegate receives before full boost is reached. Even a bleed valve will REDUCE the amount of pressure the wastegate gets by bleeding of air (I'm thinking of a system without a solenoid here, not sure how the solenoind is controled by the ECU). The valve bleeds of air as soon as boost is made, which includes spool time. So, during the spooling stage less pressure is applied to the gate so less creep will occur. The effect will never be as good as an EBC but is still there. Bled off air = less pressure at the wastegate ANY time boost is being made. More pondering... The wastegate will not open as soon as ANY form of pressure is reached. It will take a certain amount of PSI to start opening the gate. At a guess if the spring tension is set to 10psi it might take at least 5psi to start to overcome the spring tension and effect spool up. You can see how even a bleed valve would reduce the pressure during spoolup, therefore lessening the effects of creep. I just thought of the situation and came to these conclusions, no mags or internet hear-say have lead me to think this. Read what I have said again and think about it yourself because it does seem to make sense. If it's wrong, please EXPLAIN why, istead of raving about how shit bleed valves are. I have never had probs with them.
  13. Is there a NOTICABLE change in power when the filter is changed for a highflow drop in replacement? We pulled out the filter in the R33 for a test run down the road and noticed a fairly lage gain in power. (for test purposes only, we put back in straight away). Would a good panel filter show almost as high of a gain as a boxed pod or no filter? It's hard to decide on what option is best as they both have their good and bad points.
  14. Yep, this thread is one of those ones that is linked to other forums fo a laugh. Anyway, here is a sensible debate over what is better, inline 6 or V6. I recon the inline 6 argument won, decide for yourselves. Warning, its long and technical. just ignore the red words, they were just my search criteria. http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...=inline+gravity
  15. I have gone WAY over the edge of my 200km/h speedo. I guess about 230-40. But I highly doubt it would have been going that fast, prbably more like 200-15.
  16. Cheers, Is BCPR6ES the part number. Are they just a standard cheap plug. I don't want any fancy ones.
  17. Time for a service on my brothers R33, what oil and sparkplugs should we use and what is the gap best set at. I was thinking of using good old Mobile 1 to replace the $2 oil the importer would have put in it. It seems to have developed a slight intermitant stutter during heavy acceleration so changing the plugs would be a good start I recon.
  18. I was talking to a mate who said that the GTSt "should" (as in only just on a goog day) be able to beat his V6 VR... "Dude it is a VEEE 6, remember the jap tin is only a 4 banger" Man it's a 2.5 litre 6. "2.5 ha ha, may as well be a 4" It has around 50more kw than your VEEE 6 even when standard and it weighs about 200kg less. "but its not even a VEEE" Ok hoden V6s are great... Holden V6 commos are the slowest POS on the road. I toast them on a regular basis in my near stock R31. To compare them to a R33 GTSt is... well I can't think of a word to describe it.
  19. Don't you know where fuel comes from? Oil refineries are a thing of the past. Instead of oil fields they have fields of V8’s running with all the possible advertised fuel saving devices. The fuel lines are connected to large storage tanks that fill up rapidly… Seriously, if all of these dodgy devices really worked as the manufactures claimed, your fuel level would increase if you used them all at once. The problem with these fuel saving devices is you will need a larger tank to avoid it overflowing.
  20. Great! I'll have 10.
  21. I pity his poor soul.
  22. Hey browny could you please send me the testing method. PM or [email protected] Do you think it's a crock?
