I can get one new for $650
-
Its of an XR6 turbo. Its a GT35 with a 1.06 rear internal gate. The COM goes to the actuator and the NO goes to the comp cover.
-
I'm looking for an E-boost 2. Please let me know if you see one up for sale somwhere used or good deals on a new one. Cheers.

I pulled the solenoid off to bench test it and it was OK so I put it back on. After that it started working somwhat. So maybe I did have the hoses on the wrong way, but it still does't work as well as I had hoped. Maybe I am still doing something wrong? I'm pretty certain the settings are correct for the car etc and its all hooked up right. Its set to 6 cyl 4 pulse (the car runs a 2JZGTE). All the guages like tacho speedo and throttle read correctly. I wanted to have a controller with RPM boost mapping so I could dial out the weak midrange associated with boost spiking of my shitty internal gate. Obviously you can't lower the spike down, but there should be no reason that you can't raise boost in the lower RPM band to match what it spikes to in the top end. IE, boost spike with full wastegate deflection = 0.9 bar at redline starting from 0.6 bar at 3500rpm. So you don't want a high duty cycle in the top end, but you want a high duty cycle down low that reduces as the revs rise. The SBC can't really cater for this. I have been setting up the RPM based boost control to try and bring by turbo online as soon as possible. But it does not seem to work. My turbo is capable of reaching 1 bar by 3500 rpm. So it makes sense that I would pick max duty cycle from 0-3500rpm then reduce it after that. But this does not work! It will still be laggy as. Try and get your head around this. If I choose max duty cycle from 0-4000 rpm, its still almost exactly as laggy as it was. If I also set the duty cycle at 4500 to 50% and the further RPM points to minimum duty cycle. Boost shoots up around 3500 like I want it to (remember I only changed the 4500rpm point, 3500 was already at max duty) but then it over boosts at 6500rpm, even though from 5000 onward has a minimum duty cycle. So it seems as though it doesn't really do what you tell it in terms of duty cycle per RPM. Adjusting one RPM point seems to effect how it operates in other RPM ranges no where near that point. Maybe I am doing something wrong. But going by what you's are saying I should just piss it off and get an Eboost 2. Persevere with AVCR, or piss it off?
-
With the wastegate line disconnected I can get 1 bar by 3500rpm, which is very responsive IMO. Does anyone have any experience with the AVCR? It has RPM boost mapping and duty cycle mapping. If I set all the duty cycle points to the maximum, I can also get 1 bar by 3500. So you would think that setting all the points at low RPM to max duty cycle then reducing duty cycle as the RPM increase would work. But for some reason when I reduce the duty cycle at high RPM, it also reduces the response so I don't get 1 bar by 3500rpm anymore even though I have max duty cycle up to 5000rpm. WTF?
-
I am trying to get my GT35 to boost up more in the midrange. I installed a Apexi AVCR. Even with the duty cycle set to 90 from 0-5000rpm it only gains goes from 0.6 to 0.75 bar. Surely with a duty cycle of 90 at 5000rpm boost should be skyrocketing? After 5000 I have tapered the duty cycle off since I get boost spiking with the shitting internal gate up to 0.9 bar anyway. Is my controller stuffed? I have not installed a restrictor in the line, because is didn't say to do it in the instructions. Do I have to install one anyway? I would have thought the restrictor would be inbuilt into the solenoid. Edit/Delete Message

The idea is Awesome. But I agree that its a shit idea to ruin a AWD car just to fit a FAR SUPERIOR ENGINE They should have left the Nissan engine if they couldn't be bothered getting the AWD to work. That said, any RWD Nissan deserves a 2JZ or even a 1JZ. 12.5 @ 115mph, stock ECU, stock turbos stock auto. BTW anyone wanting to fit a 2JZ with stock turbos in a Nissan PM me. I have a special dump and front pipe that crosses under the engine and re routes to the passenger side. It has good ground clearance. I am upgrading to a single turbo and won't need it. (top dump section has since been HPC coated in silver)

Reason for sale, is it used, who made the turbo, what is the rear AR, what engine was it for etc etc? -
When mid 12's feels slow. Go a big single. If anyone is selling their big single let me know. Cheers
-
lol. No shit. People that like cars also sell items other than car parts! Most car sites have a all items FS & WTB which is what I thought this section was. I quite regularly purchase non car related items from the car sites I visit regularly. I got an Xbox of here a while back. And have had an offer for a setup on the Supra forum already but is was a cable machine which I dont wan't. But yeah going through all the other items on the list this is the only non car related item. I guess the SAU forum doesn't trade in other stuff as much as other forums.

Just after a no frills weight bench with barbell and weights. PM if you have one up for sale.
-
Thanks doughboy. Its good to see some people can lend advice without resorting to childish name calling and entering unreasonable fits of insanity. But, yeah as you say side by side tests are to only real way to compare.

Setting Up Koni Red Adjustable Shock.
DennisRB30 replied to DennisRB30's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I am aiming for a good compromise between ride and handling. I want them stiffer than stock but I really want to avoid pulling them out heaps of times to get it right. Will the softest setting be firmer than stock? -
Looks like you lost your bananas a quite a few posts back mate.
-
I'm getting a bit tired of this shit. Still no flow data I might add.
-
Sydneykid. You are being ridiculous and pedantic. Drag cars have minimum weights which racers try to aim for and no one is going to fit a 1JZ to a bus and aim for good quarter mile times. What are you on mate? Why did I fit my 2JZ to much lighter car than the Aristo my engine came from? Implying I don't know that light well set up cars go faster at the drags is ridiculous (specially since I already mentioned this obvious fact) and shows you have run out of relevant things to argue about in your quest to make me look stupid. It seems like you are taking my position on RB vs JZ as a personal attack and will post the most ridiculous crap like 1JZ double decker drag busses to try and burn me. What is wrong with you? Come guys, we all know a drag calculators major inputs are MPH and weight to determine power. No need to go stupid.
-
lets get a stock camry engined lotus to race him around the track. This will prove the TOYOTA CAMRY engine is better than an worked RB26. (according to his logic)
-
lol good one mate. Read my last post. I never said any of those things, you are implying that I meant them because its best chance you have at making me look stupid.
-
Look at cars like lotus etc. They have fricking Camry engines in them and will FLOG skylines because they handle so well. Can this be used to compare the Camry engine to a RB26? Putting both engines in a similar weight well set up drag chassis with compenent drivers (which is exactly what you see in real world drag racing) will give a half decent comparison where the lotus VS GTR around a circuit proved absolutely NOTHING.
-
Sydneykid. What is your point mate? I said its LESS relevant. Not irrelevant! You know for a fact that you don't need the most power to win circuit races. Its possible to get a lot faster by spending all the money on the chassis with stock power. If I get a stock car and spend all my money on drag style suspension it will hardly get faster. Obviously you cant have a 1000hp engine in a stock car with shit driver and get awesome drag results. But you have to agree this 1000hp stock suspension car will be MUCH more successful at drag racing than it would at circuit racing. That is my point. There is simply no way to go fast in drag racing without huge power, you can't make up time with a well setup chassis if you don't have the power to go faster.
-
lol. How strong are you? The JZ is heavier so I will need my protein shakes if we have to scull drag them over the quarter mile. But in all seriousnes, circuit racing has a lot more variables than drag racing when it comes to comparing engines. Have you seen that shitty looking sunny that does 10s? The suspension is nearly stock and gets great times via a powerful engine. Put it round a circuit with a good handling car with a 100kw engine and it would probably loose. Come on man. You came up with the RB's always been JZ comment. You should have said skylines beat supras round circuit. Thats more relevant. I am saying that JZs will be more reliable and make more power for less money than RB's.
-
Oops I did misquote you on the GTR comment. My apologies. Was a mistake on my behalf. I agree with all the ACTUAL stuff you said though.
-
WTF are you on about? That's all I was claiming you said. Then I even agreed with you. I never said YOU were claiming anything about circuit vs drag etc etc. Nismoid and Sydneykid were talking about that. Calm down. I am agreeing to what you are saying. I think you have misunderstood me somewhere. Nismoid. Post 4 was relevant to some supposed test which claimed possible better head flows because engines shared the same turbo. I was pointing out differences as to why this test was not relevant in that the 1JZ has small cams and the engine will make large power via high boost rather than high revs. Post 8 was in response to the preceding post which claimed that RBs are great value for money. And the only real info on head flows was given by me in my link. No one else has provided any. Sydneykid. It seems you have a real chip on your shoulder and are quick to use hypocritical personal insults. Sure, its probably easy to get away with it on this forum since you have thousands of RB loving mates on here. But there is no need to carry on like that mate. Let me refresh your memory. You claimed that RBs will always win races over JZ's then when we pointed out this is not true you attack and claim our examples are not relevant, but your examples are relevant even though circuit racing is more of a test of handling (chassis) capability than engine capability. lol. Cheers Dennis. Skyline and JZ fan. Its a tough life likeing both. But here are quite a few JZ skylines in the make as we speak, and plenty of silvas already
