  1. Bump - no acceptable offers made so far - still for sale! Plenty of shine from the recent polish
  2. I bought them from Jetdat in 2007 (see http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/124265-r32-33-34-s13-s14-s15-wrx-leathervinyl-seat-covers/ for group buy details). I did this after doing the seats in my old R34 and really liking the look & feel. I did all of the fitting work myself, and have material that could be used to match the door trims but I'm not so keen on pulling apart my doors. I don't know any upholsterers in the ACT, so not sure who may be able to help you - but if you look at yellowpages.com.au you might find some auto upholsterers who could give you a quote for material/installation.
  3. so, finally got around to getting some photos while the sun was out - middle of the day was a bit bright but the threatening hail made me rush home quickly! those interested, please PM me
  4. My camera is in the shop at the moment, so here's a grainy pic from my phone. I'm taking the car to dealers to get an idea of price over the next week or so, if I don't get any love there I'll borrow an SLR and post up some high quality shots.

  7. Thanks to all the suggestions - I was confident it wasn't bad fuel as I've not seen that allow the car to run OK at higher revs when running like crap at idle. Got it into the shop today, looks like the issue was mainly a damaged O2 sensor plug + wire. Running much better now, just a few other minor things to address before I can bring her home!
  8. I guess that could be reasonable, seeing as the one I have is from a Z32 and may be older than the car... is this likely to be dangerous to the car for a short drive? Temps will probably be around zero when I'm driving so I guess I shouldn't be at too much risk of overheating
  9. I'd be starting with coil packs, had that problem with my old R34 and I replaced with Splitfires (at some expense)... it is pretty common as RB25s get older (mine had done ~120K)
  10. Hi all, My car has been rather idle lately as I've been overseas on a few extended work trips. I started my car last in May, and while it seemed to be running a bit rich, things seemed fine for a casual drive (except the battery was low on charge) and I did ~20 min run to the shops after checking all fluids etc. I have it booked in for a general service and tune (car has ~115K on the clock, 5k but 1 year since last service, 10k since new plugs) so I decided to start it up tonight - surprise surprise, it needed a jump (battery still under warranty so no major drama there if it's toast). However, after idling for ~5 minutes, I decided to back it out - as soon as I went over 2000rpm in reverse, it started to surge/stall at a frequency of around one surge per second. The revs were bouncing between 800 and 2400rpm and the car generally sounded awful - even when putting back in neutral the idle was rubbish. So I turned it off and rolled it back in the shed. I have a PowerFC, and when I had a quick look the Injector duty seemed too be bouncing from 0->10% and the timing (which had been sitting on 24deg at idle when cold) was seemingly between 10->35deg. Can anyone please offer advice on where to start diagnosing this? I am hesitant to drive it to the workshop in this condition as it's a good 30 minute drive to get there... Any and all help appreciated! Thanks and cheers
  11. Danny, Thanks for your advice. I suspect that a dealer is my most realistic buyer as the car is not registered in ACT and has plenty of work done to it. I can't afford to have the car 'on sale' for months, and last time I sold an R34 in Brisbane (2006) I gave up with private sellers after 3 months and got a reasonable price from a dealer (best thing was I had the money instantly and didn't have to worry about RWC or anything else). Does anyone actually buy cars from SAU? Whenever I read the 'For Sale' forums I see 'nice car', 'sweet ride' or 'you are kidding' but rarely any real interest... Any other Canberrans able to share local dealers who would be interested in purchasing imports? Is there even a market here for selling on consignment? Cheers
  12. Thanks for the responses, I had never heard of the EPIC car market before. Is it somewhere that prospective import buyers would usually look?
  13. Hi all, Due to some significant lifestyle changes I'm looking to sell my R34GTT manual coupe. I love it and it has been well kept, but I can't justify having it any longer. It has a reasonable amount of work done to it (MTQ Turbo, FMIC, full Blitz exhaust, Jim Berry Clutch, Nismo LM-GT4 wheels, Whiteline/Bilstein suspension, vinyl seats amongst other things) so I'm not sure how this will affect my ability to sell it locally (it is still registered in QLD). Are these factors going to be a problem? Can anyone offer advice on the most ideal places to offer it for sale, or even if is worth approaching any specific dealers? I understand dealers will probably offer a great deal less but I don't want to be in a position where I'm chasing a private buyer with dodgy finance... All thoughts and advice would be appreciated.
  14. boot space is what you make it... I've done a few days camping at the snow in my 34 2-door!
  15. ^^^ All sound advice! (with the exception of the brake pads comment, I've never noticed bad wear even with trackwork). Downshift slows down a little when the box heats up (think 40 degree day at QLD raceway... 51deg track temp!) but this isn't that common. Upshift isn't lightning but it's not bad, and a shift kit from MV Automatics will make your tiptronic day... I've had 3 R34's, a tip coupe, a tip sedan and a manual coupe. All great cars to drive and own, highly recommend them for the sheer satisfaction of ownership
  16. Thanks for the responses guys, will check out Kim's - Donnan did you happen to locate the details of the alternative you mentioned? Cheers
  17. Hi all, I am looking to get my car detailed as it's been 2 years since I had it done before moving to Canberra. Can anyone recommend somewhere? I have seen a few places around Fyshwick (Capital, Premier etc) - I'm looking for some personal experience, ideas of price and satisfaction of the work. My car is black and really looking for some TLC... Cheers in advance!
  18. prices? condition of lights? location?
  19. No problems for any of the cars I brought in through Geoff, or the dozen or so mates have brought in.
  20. Plenty of thieves do go through them, I wouldn't hold any confidence that the AFP are a deterrent.
  21. Ok, problem found - slight leak under the clamp on the heater hose, took the radiator shop a couple of tests to find it - no drips or anything under the car!
  22. Thanks for the responses guys! Nice tip on the s60 software too, I'm grabbing it now.
  23. Well, I'm procrastinating, so... Pub? All Bar Nun is close, but if I'm in town there will often be a stop in at PJ's. The Kingo is never a bad place to spend an arvo. Eat? Agree with Kat above about the Kaleen shop, but since I've moved I've become partial to Mee Sing at the Lyneham shops - CHEAP chinese, always friendly and never a bad meal in an almost weekly visit! Plus they deliver when it rains and I'm lazy Steak? Mine at home, sadly I haven't had a better one in Canberra Was pleasantly surprised by Jacksons near Circular Quay when in Sydney a while back though... $14 inc a schooner of Squires and the steak was very tasty. Shop? Not really my thing, probably Aldi or Bunnings :S Car? Visit BP every few weeks, Waves Car Wash in Gungahlin is a good enough reason to drive up there every month or so... haven't been to one in Mitchell, might have to check it out as I didn't know there was one there... Drive? GDE is nice and smooth with my suspension Roads out Mt Stromlo or Uriarra way are nice on occasion...
  24. Thanks for the responses so far, I've taken it on board and will have a closer look at SDMA and Autosports. Have also just fixed the radiator issue in the missus' 34 so hopefully she'll be able to have a go round Wakefield in the near future too. Cheers
  25. Nice, too bad I won't be able to make it on the 17th
