  1. My advice is stay out of the courts..... Unless you can prove that you are in the clear with mistaken identity but providing the name of the offender and proving it on the balance of probabilities, then its just your word against the cops. Not a good sign when at the court mate..and having the line will not help your case im afraid....thats just how the cookie crumbles
  2. its always better to know in advance it your covered or not....nothing worse than coughing up s**t loads of money under the belief that its all covered...only to have the insurer f**K you over..... Cheers though......
  3. "i seriously doubt that any insurance company would go to that extent to prove that it was unroad worthy" Be careful of that one mate....if an insurance company wants to get out of paying on a claim they will.....seen it often...i work in personal injury (mva etc) and they are harsh. Once the insurer was finished with you....then come the cops...who knows... Just food for thought really. Just dont want people paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars in insurance and then find that they have made alterations which makes the policy invalid. I guess its best to let them know and find out now if your covered with the "slight" changes rather than getting a nasty shock when you make a claim after a crash.
  4. in that situation mate all one could say is.....good luck..
  5. Its not soo much in relation to how fast the speed catches up with you...rather if you modify your car (eg. take the speed limiter off) and are involved in an accident, even if you pay insurance the insurer may refuse to cover you. This may depend on whether you inform your insurer of the modifications made to the mechanics of the car..which im guessing they would need to / or should know about given how anal they are about items fixed to your car. Furthermore charges could be applied should you be deemed to have modified the car to an extent that it is unroadworthy and hence driving an unroadworthy and unregistered vehicle which is an offence. Nevertheless, each to their own....was just something of interest sake i guess more than anything.
  6. I suppose that disconnecting it would be cool but given the recent news over the haul by police on hooning and the results they have had over the long weekend, in the interests of keeping your car etc. is it possible to disable it for racing and then put it back on for street driving. It appears that cutting a wire seems permanent and was wondering if there is a way of having it so that it can be turned on and off.....anyone know if this is possible?
  7. Sounds like a plan peoples....what would be the pre-req's for turning up to these events? I missed out on the last few cruises but would love to come along for the ride.

    New guy...

Well done skyline fan for your frank admission. I know jack about cars to i guess but am always willing to learn...I would be keen to hear how you go about getting your car and may pick your brain later as to your strategies and suggestions. Could prove to be a good learning curve mate. Chaos...all I can say is "what the..." for your saying of the week
  9. well....sounds like everyone would be keen....lol. Wondering what the guys on the other four groups think. Do they know what plans lay in store? As i said it would be a real tough one to organise but a real sense of achievement if it could be pulled of successfully. But who to follow...that is the question
  10. Would it not provide a sense of appreciation and some friendly sportsmanship? Could prove to be a very interesting experiment with the five of them.....escorts against skylines, zx's against lasers....lol...could prove a chance for a good laugh. I do admit that such a task in arranging would be a nightmare but surely someone is up for the challenge????? I feel a dare coming on.
  11. thanks to those guys who offered me a lift for the weekend. However, i have to cancel my plans for the weekend. :-( I look forward to catching you all at the sprint day however on the 26th and will have a good perve then. (on the cars that is...lol)
  12. well...sounds like a plan then...i shall get to there and bring some stuff. Have to be selective and not go way over budget...gotta keep saving for my skyline
  13. pinto..who is now meeting up with you? What would i need to bring down with me....petrol money etc? Where will u be meeting anyhow?
  14. i shall seriously consider your offer MRE..thanks for that. I will pvte you later and see what i need to arrange mate to get it going and all. If need be, i can bum a lift home at the end of the right so as not to take you much out of your way
  15. well..i wouldnt what to impose on you mate......but if you are offering...im sure i can make it to springwood....is there a train station near by and what would i need to bring?
