  1. im in for daytime gemma. Month away is good as i obvioulsy have a lot of crap to do to the car first. i dont know what colour it will be yet, but yes that is primer lol. I had a track day and ran out of time. My car is currently put together and working i just have to pull it apart spray it and put it back together again and im ready for this cruise.
  2. making the mould means when you pull it out, gravity has done all the smoothing for you it means less bog, less sanding, and therefore less weight. you are right though, as long as you get the side edges right your top layer idea will work fine!
  3. its fun stuff isnt it! looks good mate and will work, make sure you at leat copy the factory bracing though it will be very flexible ideally., you should have waxed the original bonnet to the shi#$ and then done this layer, then put some wood pieces in to strengthen it and then another layer or more. because it was all waxed up, you can hopefully easily remove it from the stock bonnet and put it upside down on the grass.. you will now have a nearly perfect smooth mould. wax the mould and put a few layers in and viola!! should be nearly as smooth as the original straight off the bat
  4. wow nice car andrew! and yeah someone organise something
  5. I was sitting on the limiter in 4th for a while before slowing down a bit for the kink.. I had decided if i put it in 5th i would lose about 50m in the gearchange anyway, and it would only make my approach to T1 even more slippery next time
  6. If you are willing to ship to syd i will snap these up tonight!
  7. i would cut up the quarters just enough that the lights fit, and fibreglass the gaps. The lights might even not need to be cut out they might be smaller. for the middle "skyline" section, just cut some alluminium or similar to size and stick it on the back of your factory bootlid, that will give you the crease at the level of the lights. put on a duckwing or more glass to flush the boot and/or make a little whate tail and your done
  8. REMOVE THE REO ALL TOGETHER, there are two 14mm bolts either side. If it doesnt fit stil, it will be because it is a little too wide ie genuine gtr size
  9. EXPLAIN The look you want a bit more and maybe we can help.. i know a little about mix and matching gtst parts for gts4s so this would be backwards for me but if you could post a pic or something that would help
  10. swaybrs will clean up your cars handling to no end. The factory camber and castor rods will be able to cope as long as you arent ridiculously low and will have enough adjustment to get a good result. spend a few hundred on selbys or whiteline bars and you are pretty much there.
  11. ok new pic, its painted and tested as i had an off at oran park lol. im quite happy it definitely works, i will however remake it as i want it a bit further out, and i will incorporate the undertray so its all smooth and the undertray

  23. leading edge is sharp actually. police wont see it as it will never go on the road with this bar. I dont think it would make it out the driveway anyway.
  24. Hey guys, I had fibreglass laying around and wanted to learn how to use it, i want to make fenders and rear guards and a new front bar, but i had never used it before so i gave this a go instead. Basically removed the front bar, traced around it and added an inch copying the shape of the r34 jgtc cars. I then cut this shape out of thin board and layered fibreglass over the top with a large overlap. Then this morning i flipped it and did the same on the other side, to make a wood sandwich. Jigsawed the shape back out to get rid of the excess and viola. I dabbed the resin on with a brush, then used a roller to smooth it out and I must say im pretty happy with the result, bit of a sand and its smooth enough to paint. I figure I installed it on a horizontal plane so it cant offer significantly more drag at low speed, hopefully it does something at high speed. Will have to give it a test at OP. I have never used fibreglass before, but it was not that messy and I will definitely use it more in the future. I have a question though, what am i supposed to do with the front guards? currently the front bar has no liners in it, i have trayed off the underside but i am unsure of what to do around the wheel. I understand if you guys think this is all pointless aero, but i'm basically having fun spending time doing it.
