  1. yeah tom ive been missing for a little while just with work.. driving the thing again now so will catch you next cruise hopefully! i put a radio and a speaker in it again so im prepared for the long haul lol some nice r34's getting around these days!
  2. snap GEMMA!!! there is a plan to have my car out at oran park on the 17th, but if something goes wrong i will come out for a cruise.
  3. if its before the turbo, sticky tape is fine. if its after the turbo, you need to put silicone joiner over it or just pay someone $20 to weld it
  4. i would check your afm, swap it out if you can or even just make sure its plugged in. Check all the wires are fine where they go into the plug, sometimes they ge bent or stretched to much and you need to solder them in
  5. if you DONT mean the little reg thing, then there is a split in the hose and the fuel that should be going to the motor is still in the tank/. i suggest you pull it back out and check. A new bit of submersible efi hose is expensive but if you need it you need it. if you just make it shorter you may effectively lose some tank capacity. make sure you get a good seal with the rubber ring on the lid too. and dont run the car with the fuel tank open looking at the pump
  6. i'll come too jess let me know
  7. go around and re-block the million vacum hoses you have blocked. most likely one is open somewhere which isnt helping you diagnose this problem. tighten the bov if you can. the real answer is your ecu is not tuned for your bigger cams, and never will be until you buy a new one. no amount of moving afm's and adjusting bov's is going to fix that, the bigger cams want to idle a bit different.
  8. i would get base timing checked now, while it is runnig well, and put your cas back where it is supposed to be and reset the ecu again. i would say the ecu had pulled up an error with the idle control unit or afm and wasnt checking it again for whatever reason. if it wont idle, either it isnt getting an air signal or it is getting some that is unmetered ie serious vacum leak- cooler pipe off type stuff.
  9. as far as i knew factory one wasnt rubber? im pretty sure mine was metal rings on gasket card/ i reused my original one in an engine with 1.4 bar and have not noticed a problem may i suggest also that you check the plenum face in a few directions with a straight edge, if it isnt flat, you will never get a bulletproof seal from paper or metal.. or anything else if its too bad.
  10. what kind of explode trent?? i'm running 1.3 bar from twin hks gt-ss through my z32 atm
  11. nothing in front of mine but compressor wheels and pods, no recirc BOV's or oily air inputs. only issue was the idle unit, had to plumb that in after the afm obviously whereas before it was just behind the air filter, funny the stock position would have worked fine lol. runs very similar to before, but it hit around 80 on the fc knock reading tonight wheras before it would not do that. Was almost full throttle, around 1.3 bar... it was only the once though so may have been something else. but yeah idles and drives same as before. Outside that one incident max knock was about 40 while backing off which is normal for my car, so I'm happy. i think the verdict is everything is ok. i will get it on a dyno and see how it reacts to real heat though... i'm not worried about it holding pressure or measuring boosted air, but i am still worried about it sort of melting
  12. hi was wondering if anyone has any experience with this... in order to get a nice intake happening, i have moved the z32 afm into the cooler piping. car seems to run fine, but what i was wondering is if i can run boost through this plastic thing? ie will it still give reliable ratios under boost or will it wander around as the temps change? and will it melt or crack with 280kw or so of air? I eagerly await your opinions
  13. you could just leave them there so you can go back to stock easily if you ever have to. you can cut and terminate if you really want i guess
  14. the y piece is the part that says "twin turbo" above the turbos most exhaust places could do it easily for a few $ anyway. i have one on my twin turo 25, 2 60mm goes to 1 80mm for the z32 afm. same thing as you want but wrong side of the turbo
  15. you should actually come and drive though. its an autosports ultimate control day, which means skidpan day. A very good way to have a lot of fun. i wont be competitive because its all low speed stuff in 1st/second gear, which doesnt exist in my car. But i used to kill them on the stock turbo back in the day
  16. everyone come play at oran park with me on december 14th. 140 dollars and you can have the satisfaction of being shown up by me too
  17. we were at krispys for an hour maybe? near all the skylines?
  18. I prefer rain, and we won't be stuffed up by a silly closed bridge, we never cross one
  19. factory system has a secondary restraint. thats why you have to pop the bonnet, then open it with the latch. scrutineers need to learn more about cars
  20. ihought it was a tad expensive but now maybe not?
  21. you need to tighten the allen key bolts on the hinges. have a look if thats possible
  22. andreww im coming if you want to meet here and cruise to livo or something
