  1. just get one of those exhaust butterflies installed after your cat...... my mate has one on his .... no mufflers.... and it shuts up to almost stock level.... its amazing.... they are illegal... but meh.... whos going to look..... worth a try
  2. hmmmmm... which series rx? most RX7 rims have some crazy +offsets like 45... if i remember well? i guess it would also depend on how much you want to put down to the ground? and what type pf tire you want to use
  3. I have no idea.... but it looks like something really small went through it.... like garains of sand or something.... so yeah.... new core is in place now... turbo has been freshened and block arrives back from machineists on monday.... gettin close.... yeeeeah!!!!

So Uras ..... how should i be running in my package? i was under the impression that if i put a constant rev on a new motor that there would be minimal load on the rings.... i have heard that letting idle is bad for a new motor.... wouldnt holding constant revs-speed be the same? This is where i am getting lost..... Cheers
  8. used auto trans fluid... then wd-40 (inox) .... engine is not finished yet..... will need to sort out some underlyng issues yet.... so uras.... in you professional opinion.... safe to build engine with the cams and run the whole thing in as normal....? thanks again for fast response......
  9. so it should be safe to run my engine and cams in at the same time?.....i might have over thought this issue.... i just thought that sitting @ 1800 revs for a new engine would not be good for the rings thats all..... So i should install them and run is as usual? cheers in advance
  10. i ask only because the bottom end would be brand new..... there is no way that i will be running in the cam sat 1800 revs for 15 mins on an engine that needs to be run in.... any ideas??? help much appreciated.....

  12. hmmmmmmmm............ seems i have run into a few little difficulties in preparing the engine.... anyways... i should have the thing back in the car first week after new years... will then run in.... and then off for final tune and detailed results......
  13. are you turning the wheel lets say before you turn your engine on for any reason? i ask this because my car did the same thing to me a few times.... i tried turning the wheel while engine was off and when i turned it on and started driving... all of a sudden the steering wheel decided it had a mind of its own and as you said... you had to counter to try and dive straight.... then as you said... turn off the engine... then on again... and it was fine.... Ages ago ( i mean ages too ) i unplugged the hicas cpu at the rear of the car... and i blocked off the feed from the steering pump... buy a hicas lock bar.... its a lot cheaper a far less headache.... but be wary... some that are out there are absolute shockers.... buy the right ones good luck.....
  14. I agree with the above that this new engine deserves a bigger turbo.....and i will be leaning towards a GTRS when the time comes...... I just wanted to put to rest the myths that dance around this turbo.... i have always loved the power delivery of this one... and even with 180RWKW that it previously had.... it was so much fun.... max power is never the issue with me.... i just loved the mid range torque it produced.... and regardless of what others have said... it pulled all the way to redline.... never felt like it dropped off.... So...... i figure with all the mods done.... and having an engine that is supposed to be "more efficient" than the turbo... at least we will know what can be expected out of this little snail.....
  15. okay guys... there have been a few dances around the subject of this particular turbo.... I have had my car off the road for a little while getting a full rebuild with the following Engine - RB20 ---> RB2.3 -forged pistons.... yadda yadda..... all new block... -1.2mm tomei head gasket -Tuneagent low mount s/s lowmount -HKS split dump pipe -Free low straight zorst -Nismo 555cc injectors -Z32AFM -Tomei Poncam 256/256 -Tomei Camgears -Nismo FPR Now the turbo i currently have is an HKS 2510..... i want to go bigger down the road as the engine in built for it now.... but on the previous standard engine it used to make 181RWKW on a conservative tune at 1.bar..... i have witnessed these make 200RWKW before at same or a little more boost..... ive read that chris32 had made 208RWKW at his highest recording..... in question if i rung my setup for all its worth i would be able to get 220rwkw on a 2510??? I really wanna see what this thing can do.... i think if that if that figure could be achived i would have a demonically fast street car...... thoughts please...... all comments welcome....
