with the restrictions what's stopping them from registering the car under their parents name? i know many teens who do it, especially for insurance purposes! or maybe getting a hyundai excel and turbocharging it? yes a 4 cylinder takes a bit longer to hit higher speeds but haven't we been seeing people crashing at corners these days? it's the whole initial d thing that's had a major influenced i reckon! the youths who have big ego's generally believe beating a faster car with a slow one is the goal in which resulting them to drive harder in their under powered car! it's like they have something to prove or something

the point of my initial post was it's the attitude and ego of the driver that needs to be changed or influenced in a better way. high powered car or not the attitude of the driver can be determinded by their ego and the people around them! you Pete, you're probably matured by now but would you're thinking still be the same as now back then if you didn't have AIR? when you think about it, how many young people on here own performance cars and other forums for that matter? how many of them get into hoon related accidents? yes the car plays a big part but at the end of the day it still comes down to the attitude of the driver which was at fault. you can drive a corolla at 60 and a skyline as well which all leads to my original point but trust me on this, at the work shop you should see the amount of dreamers that come through doing work on their non performance cars. i've seen cars like a bmw 318i putting in performance shocks for the hills. there's a little carby civic and he's put more cash into his car than what it's worth, a honda jazz with a full exhaust system and he fangs it every time i see him! there are more that i won't mention but you should get my drift. but these are people who've just started driving as well and they're not driving turbo cars yes you can do what sydney did and put in the restrictions but what's stopping them from registering the car under their parents name? i don't condone the restrictions, i never said i did but my point being it's still not gonna stop hoon related accidents!

sure you can enforce laws on restrictions of vehicles to young people but is it still gonna control their ego? NO, when i just started driving give me a corolla or a skyline, it won't matter what car i had a poor attitude and would've wrapped either one around a pole! just because a car has less power and is slower it still wouldn't stop me from taking the corner harder! back then i drove a very slow mazda mx6, slow as thing but i've taken more risks in it 100 times more than what i do with my skyline now! back then i had a big ego till the time i went off a cliff on lofty it made me realise i could've died and what would've been worse is if i killed someone else! but now i've settled down and use my skyline as a daily and the goal is to build a reliable daily i can take to the track on weekends! so my point is it's almost impossible to stop this kind of behaviour by enforcing laws and etc! changing the law doesn't mean it'll change the attitude, it still won't stop a young person going out stealing, borrowing and joy riding! sure you can cut the percentage of hoon related accidents down but for how long? there'll be some sort of loop hole they'll exploit! on the point of the restrictions what's stopping the young driver when they get unrestricted to go out and kill themselves with something high powered? if a law or something has to be enforced to combat this problem then they might as well stop handing out licenses! no law is gonna change the ego and attitude of a young driver! it's the driver themself who changes their own attitude, i don't know but maybe better older role models as well? because when i was in high school it was cool when a parent or school seniors did burn outs so of course that's gonna rub off on the younger generation! after all that typing my sole point is you can't change the attitude of a young hoon, only they themself can
