  1. a mate of mine has an R34 GTR which he is thinking of selling. we were debating where to start with the price given what is up on carsales. so we all know nothing goes for the asking price but are all these 90k+ cars actually selling? his car is a 2001 non vspec with some tasteful mods. if so what are they selling for? 85, 75, 70? open to feedback from the group.
  2. I'm after some GTR front rotors. Used is ok but no less than 31mm thick with no big grooves or cracks. come at me.
  3. Speedo is out as you say, understandably. I actually think the 1st gear is a little long with the original 3.54. The r33 diff housing did have some additional mount points on the casting that we thought might be a problem but upon stuffing it in it didnt touch anywhere and had a minimum of 10mm clearance to the body. will update once more kms are put on by the owner. PS. the job itself is piss easy for a weekend warrior mechanical type.
  4. This bloke Its all done and was pretty much a bolt in deal. Just swapped over the rear cover to the original r34 one. As this 34 is not a Vspec we didnt have to deal with active LSD's. to those concerned about short ratios with the 6 spd dont be. Around town the thing is spot on. Sure it might struggle down the main straight at EC but everywhere else its great.
  5. Hi Lads, Im after some advice. A mate of mine has an r34 GTR with 4.11 front diff gears. after some research it appears an r33 GTR diff looks very similar to and r34 housing/drive shaft flanges/ABS etc and are 4.11. Is it possible to grab an r33 GTR rear diff assembly and bolt it in to the 34?
  6. Agreed the warranties are hardly even good for wiping your ass with. The 6 months dealer warranty will prove useful enough for me, the other warranty is a waste of time, but for the record it says service the car every 6 months or 10000kms which works out to be the amount of kilometres my missus does anyway. I will read the fine print to see if it's even worthwhile following the servicing schedule though, I'm guessing it's going to be something stupid not unlike the "factory warranty" you get from a new car dealership. I went out to the inspection guy they sent me to expecting some moron, but surprisingly the guy actually knew his shit and was quiet helpful. The car is very sound, I'm happy with it and the outcome. If I wasn't I would have returned the car and then probably had to pay more than I did for another one with the same kms, plus out of pockets, time lost, f**king around etc etc.
  7. I've been in touch with the dealer and we've agreed on an outcome. No money will exchange hands but the alternative was a long drawn out process of returning the car and potentially going through fair trading etc etc to get my out of pocket expenses back. I honestly don't have the time to deal with that kind of mess as I'm strapped for time with a young family and business commitments anyway. So I settled for an outcome with us keeping the car, upgraded warranty & some things fixed/adjusted on the car that I wanted sorted and would have otherwise had to pay to get done. I don't think the dealer needs to be burnt at the stake, and to be honest I don't think they themselves wound back the odometer but hopefully this gives them a little scare to prompt them to do their checks a bit better to cover themselves for future buyers asking the same questions. Again I obviously could have taken this further, but I still would have had to search for a replacement car and would still be out of pocket for stuff I couldn't claim. Looking forward to moving on and driving the car from here (all going well). I'll still get the odometer reading from the guys on fb, but the reality is the body and interior/suspension is in good condition on this thing, a vq35de or rear diff parts aren't massively expensive if they do fail so I can live with that risk. Appreciate the help/feedback.
  8. Hey Guys, I have spoken to the ACCC and they were very very helpful. The dealer definitely has a case to answer for, and I have just sent an email off to them this morning starting with a friendly "please explain" style. I'm not up for the naming or shaming, I just want to get this resolved. For anyone else in a similar situation, here are my call notes to the ACCC which should help; Competition and consumers act - The item must be fit for the purpose that the business said it was fit for. Product must match descriptions - It doesn't... Misleading and false representations - illegal to make false impressions i.e. saying the car has travelled 48,000km's when it has done 94,000kms ################ Recouping costs - Compensation for costs incurred e.g. transfer of rego etc http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/repair-replace-refund http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/compensation-for-damages-loss http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/misleading-claims-advertising/false-or-misleading-claims There is a office of fair trading in each state, if the company is not willing to negotiate I just go to them and they will mediate the issue on my behalf. ############## Will advise how it pans out.
  9. Thanks Daleo! Will get in touch with those guys on facebook. So looks like I was right about that being the electronic trip meter, my brother works with dude from Japan and got him to translate as follows; The fields on the left in order; 1. Driving time 2. Driving distance 3. Avg Spd The buttons on the right all say reset and the message on the top says “driver information”. Looks like these guys have a case to answer.
  10. Hey Guys, Bought a M35 Autech Axis last week. Odometer said 48000kms, purchased the car from a import dealer. I'm aware that 90 percent of imports have had the odo wound back, and in the case of this car it seemed to match the kilometres on the dash so I wasn't to fussed at the time. But after getting the car home and having a chance to play with the japanese dash screen and settings I stumbled across this menu item, which is incrementing and I can only assume is either the trip meter that has never been reset/used on the car OR some other form of logging the kilometres. That and the fact the airbag light came on the 2nd time I drove it and I had to follow the steps another forum member posted on resetting it, I'm not interested in looking into these issues further. So I have a few questions if anyone can help me; 1. Am I right in assuming that part is the trip meter? (pics below) 2. What are my rights in terms of requesting a discount on this car? I'm not to keen on a refund as I have already gone through the expense of changing the rego to my name and paying duties, swapping number plates and selling our current car. But I am open to some sort of financial fix in the way of $$$$. If it had another 20000kms I probably wouldn't bother, but the fact it has double the advertised km's I think I have something worth enquiring about. 3. Does anyone have any online URL's I can reference to do my own reading on this? Mainly looking for government regulatory links for odometer tampering and penalties. Pics Thanks and appreciate the help, feel free to shoot me down if I have got this wrong. Also I will be asking the importer if they have access to the import and sales documents, deregistration from japan so I can view the kilometres on that documentation. Also, I did search the forums & read other posts, but didn't find anyone who had found the stuff I have (potentially) above. Thanks
  11. Got some wheel nuts for sale. Hex: 12 x 1.25 50mm long Alloy with steel thread insert for all the retards that tighten the nuts to tight and wreck the normal alloy threads. Black in colour 20 lugs per set $70 for the set. I bought 2 sets and kept these as spares, no longer needed. Location - Sydney but will post at your expense. Contact via PM. Good for reducing unsprung weight.
  12. They did, my old boss had an R32 GXI 4 door. CA18 single cam injected automatic absolute piece of shit. So surely the rb20de made it to.
  13. Not harsh, constructive and truthful, maybe it's just hard to hear. If I f**ked up, I'd cop it sweet. Sure it would add insult to injury getting a response like that from nengun, but the guy left himself open with his poor initial response. Live and learn.
  14. Put it perspective, the guy probably deals with 20 people like yourself that have trouble wording emails in a way that don't come across as rude "as really don’t believe I should have to pay". They are a go between, like many other companies. They make what, 15% on each item purchased? As soon as he wastes 15-30mins answering your useless email they have already lost money. I'm not saying the guys customer service is awesome, but the bottom line is you are wasting his time and using the phrase above is the worst way to get the guy onside. What he does need to learn is responding to emails without emotion to avoid people crying a river because someone offended them in an email.
  15. For Sale Got a 180sx shell that needs a new home as I don't have the time to give it work it needs. It's a 1990 model minus the following; - Front bar - Motor (ca18det) - Gearbox - Diff - Front Calipers - exhaust & cooler What it does come with; - Bodykit (includes sideskirts and rear pods) not sure of brand but seen them before. - faded leather interior (a clean and a hit of vinyl spray will bring it back to it's former red glory) - Ca radiator - Ca manual gearbox mount and tailshaft - Paint I would describe as above average, I believe it does have 1 or 2 small scrapes down the drivers side which can get pics if needed, but definitely nothing major. - Car wiring loom and gear is all there. - suede steering wheel which needs a clean. - Z32 Rotors - Full rear brakes, lines and calipers/rotors - Power Steering pump and lines still connected - Brake and clutch master cylinders Reason for sale Originally purchased to build a drift pig, but could easily be put back on road by throwing a drivetrain into it as the car is full complied. Price - $1750ono going cheap (no dreamers please, only enquire if you are interested, this is a great basis for a road or track car). Location - Near Hornsby Contact via PM for viewing, available most days after 5.30pm and on weekends, all by appointment. Thanks Pictures (I have more but photobucket is closed for maintenance at the moment, will post later)
  16. Just to post in the thread, I don't have any documentation for the seats. They came with a project car my friend bought, I agreed to buy the seats since the guy he bought the car off wouldn't separate. I have only removed one to confirm they fitted me & quality and then my mate got the pics. If they are copies (which they may be), they are very good ones. I obviously checked over the quality of workmanship before handing over money and they are very good. They have a made in japan label on them, some japanese sticker on the bottom seat bracket. The side cap which is used to adjust the seat height has bride on it, the metal brackets on side have bride inscribed in them to. As far as I can ascertain brides do not come with adr approval (I may be wrong), hope this helps for interested parties.
  17. FS: Guys, got 2 x Bride low Max Gias seats for sale. These are the carbon/kevlar lightweight ones (not to be confused with the heavy "canadian" style black plastic ones). Reason for selling - I bought them about 6 months ago with intentions of fitting to my car but work is drying up so I need to give these up (wifes orders) to fund the mortgage. Price - $2600 ono for both, or may separate. Location - Sydney (Storing in my mates warehouse in thornleigh), viewing available to genuine parties. Condition - Brand new, never fitted to car, come in box/bubble wrap with slider rails everything. Pictures - should be attached Contact - PM for contact details Thanks
