Will Sound Deadening Help My Door Clank?
danielr34 replied to sigsputnik's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Absolutely, the more vibration you can reduce to the body of your car the better acoustic environment you will create. Bass will improve or SPL will show an increase and the idea of good car audio is to create perfect sound inside the car not outside I reccommend Dynamat extremme and do away with unwanted number plate rattles. -
Vt Systems Car Audio and Security together with Security In Motion have just taken Australian SPL record in last months Autosalon in the DB Drags event. We are now trying to target the world record and hope to achieve this by Final Battle at Autosalon in Sydney in December 2007. We will have Australia's Loudest car on display In Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney and also compete and demo. We would be happy to answer any car audio and car security questions you may have, Vernon and Terence from VT Systems and Leon from Security In Motion will be there in person. LOOK FOR THE "ICE AGE" VAN AND "ICE 2 THE MELTDOWN" VAN. Hope to see some of you there.

It doesnt only alert,it can do same as Quiktrak only cheaper and you monitor car yourself, you can lock/unlock doors via sms, you can shut off fuel supply with its own immobiliser or sound horn or off smoke bomb inside car like they do in the country where it is designed South Africa. Did a Chopper monster bike with it, customer called me back and said his wife tracked him on the Princess Hwy instead of the Pacific Hwy where he told her he was going, he got busted, lol. Try fit a Quiktrak on a motorcycle, without using a box trailor anf that will impress me.

If you use a Telstra SIM card with the CATE 800 paging alarm all you need to do is register with a website called www.gofinder.net I think its about $30 for 30 views and when CATE sends you alarm message or anytime you want you go back to the website and you can track your vehicle to within a 40m radius. It basically tracks the SIM card whether its in a phone or a car alarm. Designed for men to track where there wives have gotten to I think, or the other way around lol
-
A few changes have been made, these are, new look remotes that use a differant language to communicate to the alarm, a few software changes to accomodate the next generation sirens (coming soon), more progammable features, and they can now be prgrammed to receive signals from Autowatch wireless PIR sensors (found in home alarms) to set your car alarm off if someone walks into your garage or carport etc. Also wireless engine immobiliser relays are coming soon! Beat That Viper! Security In Motion and Autowatch..........NO ONE DARES COME CLOSE!

Recommend the Autowatch 456 or as its now known as the 446premium insurance approved with certificate immobiliser/alarm/turbo timer and can do antihijack intergration will communicate with the CATE 800 GSM paging alarm and can also give you tracking for the price of paging it seems everything your looking for is right here, at a reasonable price too.

follow the link below and download the demo video it shows you everything http://www.vmscarpc.com.au/

I know Randy i've seen most of them and tried them, but this is the "ultimate" car pc. I haven't found a faults or bugs yet and it does everything including engine management system fuel pressure, manifold pressure, rpm, timing etc it can even clear some errors in the vehicle own computer that you would normally have to go to an authorised repairer to fix such as ABS light problem and AIR BAG problems. I suppose time will tell on this products' durability and reliability so we'll just have to wait and see.

yes and we have now become a distributer for Sydney

there are 2 supply wires behind your clock 1 powers up when you turn on acc and the other wire should always have power for the clock to retain memory so like Chris said check fuses in kick panel and in the boot the best way is with a test light and with the ignition on so you possibly find other blown fuses, pulling them out indvidually and checking them visually is as convincing.
-
Found the ideal Multimedia solution for all you computer enthusiasts the ultimate car pc everything you can do on your home pc you can do in your car including navigation and mobile phone connectivity and much more and it is especially designed for the automotive sector, no more stuffing around with power supplies and system crashes.

Silly Turbo Timer Vs Auto-lock Feature

I have a couple of options, call me 0407106822 -
Try running other RCA's just on the outside over seats to see if it is the RCA's themselves, if the problem is still there, there is a good chance that the pre-amp in the deck is not healthy, try another deck even an older one that works if you can get your hands on one.
-
Yes there is a thing to reprogram the sat nav but it is in Japan at the Nissan factory, which firstly needs to be reprogramed for Australia" maps then they can reprogram your sat nav but the cost in doing that Chris Rogers can supply and install about 5674 sat navs in your car

Is this with the engine running? Or can you hear it when the engine is off and the volume low? If it is with engine running it may be a DC electrical spike which doesn't affect the engine or the cars computer but can affect audio and alarms. Check all main power connections from battery to amps are tight and battery to chassis and battery to alternator and ignition coil connections, also battery power is another main cause for bizzare audio problems the best car audio performers always look for where they are going to install all the batteries before they look at where the subs are going. A stiffening cap might absorb the ticking noise. If the noise is heard with engine off and low volume it could be the noise floor that your listening to which means your amps are turned up to full position which means they are too small, the higher the gains are on an amp the greater the reduction in optimum audio range. First you should see which speakers you get the noise from by just removing rca's one at a time it will narrow the problem down, if it is all speakers then you know your amps are good, then try 2 30amp or higher ground loop isolators in line before each amp remembering there is no guarantee on resolving noise problems over the internet, unless I can hear it, so you need to experiment a little.

VT Systems in Sydney will probably beat that price and do a better job on the install with awsome products you should get a quote from them and compare prices. Call Terrence 0422368828

Make sure the amp is at least 500w if you want to make the subs move. VT Systems in Sydney sell Crossfire subs and amps, which have been used to break world SPL record. They are very reasonably priced as well.
-
wouldnt be surprised if it is a problem with the amp, you get that every now and then, even new amps can have an internal earth leak causing alternator noise through ingress. They might exchange it under warranty. If not the amp maybe adding a condensor for the alternator might help.
-
Subs are not that fussy for sound quality so THD levels (Total Harmonic Distortion) are not do important what they need is "power" so try to pick one that has has the highest output, in your case the Jaycar Response AA-0424 - 500w RMS x 1 @ 4ohm will do the job hopefully it is Mosfet so later you can add a second sub and bridged down to 2 ohms it will pump.
-
There is an easy way to do this but will takr too long to explain by typing just call me the phone will be on all night l Leon 0407106822
-
Jaycar amps are better used for running subs as sound quality is not as efficient as the better known brands, you should check out Crossfire amps they pump and produce awsum quality sound especially with crossfire splits!

It seems like the illumination wire might be grounding out, probably at thr back of the stereo when you installed deck a green/orange wire I think but if your stereo doesn't have an illumination wire then that wire should be insulated and not used (it is not an earth wire) earth you should only get from vehicle chassis
-
Mate, you haven't mentioned "Crossfire" they are the world SPL record breakers

Personally I prefer Autowatch 446 Premier with built in turbo timer. As for ultra sonics these are usually a 2 piece system mounted on either side of the dashboard, 1 of them is a transmitter the other is a reciever and an ultra sonic beam (high frequency sound wave) is transmitted from i to the other, if the beam is broken by an object such as an arm the alarm is triggered. If I had to choose I would pick ultra sonics instead of microwave sensor but definately a shock sensor is needed if you want to save your wheels! Goodbye
