  1. Each to their own I suppose. I personally would have a boost controller. sure u can stiffen up the wastegate spring to run higher boost but wouldnt it be easier to have a boost controller for ease of boost adjustment?
  2. You dont need it, but i still use exhaust gasket sealer
  3. keep in mind if you dont have mesh infront of the intercooler it may be a defect aswell. been pulled up a couple of times having the police officer say its illegal to have an uncovered intercooler "open to the elements".
  4. currently driving a car with RB26, to4z making 400rwhp @ 17psi. thats only an rb 26 bottom end tho.
  5. were you after that metal ring that goes into the end of wastegate or and actual gasket? if its the gasket im thinking of you can buy them from autobarn. turbosmart make 38mm sized ones, not sure bout other sizes tho.
  6. how long was the piping plumbed into the coke can? it can be a gradual thing the oil moves the system
  7. I was having a chat with my mechanic the other day and he said the tappet noise may actually be the big end as the sound resonates up through the engine. Go to a mechanic
  8. try buying a catch can and fitting it, u might be getting excess oil coming through your blowby and its just being sucked back in through the turbo, that may explain why you have it near the afm. Is the car blowing black smoke?
  9. Hi all. To go ahead with a current project I am after a complied r33 gts-t shell. I was wondering if anyone knew where i could find one with no damage. The only place i came accross was in SA and it would cost too much for my liking to get that shipped to Brisbane. What price do you think it would go for just for a bare shell (no guards, interior etc etc etc). Thanks all David
  10. or even if i can get a rear cut or an r33 shell at the right price. even if the shell is totally stripped, as long as its complied and no panel damage. thanks guys
  11. Hi, As topic states, im after a drivers side rear quater panel for an r33 gts-t 2 door. Im located in brisbane. Please Pm me if you have access to one or know where to find one in the brisbane/ gold and sunshine coast area. Many thanks david
  12. Well sure it might help the radiator from not letting the air go where ever it likes, but how much difference can it make? 2-8 degrees in temp? more? Having a larger radiator that does not support the stock shroud, wouldtnt that make it cooler anyway? Hmm..
  13. Hi all, I have been thinking of upgrading my radiator in the near future and i noticed some of them dont have the holes to put the stock radiator shroud back on. It got me thinking, is it really needed? Or is it just to stop noobs from putting their hands and who knows what other body parts into the fan while the engine is on? Does it have much to do with airflow? or can the car live without it? Thanks Dave
  14. Another vote for godzilla motorsports. Mark really knows his stuff, and he does a great job. My car is there at the moment, and i have seen a few cars done by him with good results.
  15. its like $30 for the adapter from the fuel rail. loose the stocko if your buying an aftermarket FPR. you can get the turbosmart ones from autobarn. they do the job niceley
  16. Are all your fuses ok? u sure u werent tinkering with anything else? is everything connected back up properly in the engine bay? having a new turbo put in, may not have connected the afm plug properly or something simple like that. And what does the black smoke have to do with it? is it a lot of black smoke, and coming from the exhaust im assuming.
  17. just make sure u dont go snapping the stud removal tool in there. I just had the trauma of taking the head off and putting it back on to get out a broken bit in there. trust me it sucks trying to drill into a snapped bit in the very last stud at the back of the engine. Just make sure u drill deep enough (but not too far) dont go cutting corners. i thought i was deep enough when drilling cause i was too scared of going in too far and i ended up causing a lot of trouble. I had 2 at the front broken and they were pretty easy to get out tho. lesson learned after the first stud.
  18. thanks mate for the response. all fixed now. I was too lazy when i looked at the crank gear. it was actually out a bit when i looked closer. ...lesson learned
  19. Hi all, Just need a quick bit of advice, im just putting my timing belt on, i have lined the dots on the cams to the back plate and the bottom gear to the tab bit around the oil pump. but as i go to put ont the harmonic balancer, the markings on the balancer match up to the 3rd marking in from the left to the timing belt cover plate. is it supposed to be the 3rd marking in on the left for a manual rb25? or should it be the very left marking? I though it was supposed to be the very left side being 0 degrees but i may be wrong. Please, please please help as i want this done tonight. thanks in advance david ps sorry if my spelling is dodgey
  20. +1 for the sard fuel reg, bought mine today so i havent got an opinion on its performance just yet. Because my car is in bits at the moment. But i havent heard anything bad about them
  21. series 2 AFM still for sale. oh yea its got the pink sticker on the side. Injectors still for sale Parts no longer needed due to turbo upgrade, all parts in excellent working condition. PM me for any queries ECU Sold, Turbo sold, fuel reg pending payment thanks
  22. hmm reverse drill bit. i might look into that. is it just like a normal drill bit, but backwards? ill try anything to get this #*%^%& thing out
  23. Does anyone else have this much trouble getting onto threadtech at all? I already have gone down the path of going to bunnings and purchasing a drill, drill bits, angled chuck, multiple sized stud removal tools. the stud gets a daily shower in wd40 and an angry eyeing off by the owner. and i dont like my chances of even getting a welder to fit in there. i want threadtech to get this thing out as i cannot find anyone else.
  24. ecu sold pending payment
  25. Well all i have come to the stage where i am in desperate need to get this broken stud out of my block. I have heard all the great things about "threadtech" but i cannot manage to get a hold of the person. i have been provided both phone and mobile number and they both ring out and go to message bank. i have left multiple messages and called multiple times. Im sure its a great company from all the good reviews i have heard from this person but i need this stud out before my car goes in to be tuned this friday. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other company that can provide the same service of coming out to my house and removing the stud? Any help would be greatly appreciated because i am at wits end trying to get this stud out. i have also managed to try an easy out tool and it managed to snap in the centre of the broken stud. please help. thanks in advance david
