  1. I put 850 cc injectors into my car without knowing of the outcome. hahaha i managed to drive it about 2 km and i went through about 1/2 a tank of fuel. lesson learned.
  2. Ah thanks HypeR33, you were the answer i was looking for. You have almost an identical setup to mine nearly, accept the cams. I can sleep better tonight knowing there is another car out there that is capable of doing what i want to do with stockish internals. Are there any more people out there with a setup like HypeR33? I totally agree that the tune really depends on the life span of an engine. thats why im going to get the best/ safest tune possible on my car.
  3. I guess the reason I asked what people had on their engines was because I wanted to get a fair idea of a power : mod ratio using a 3540. At the moment I have stock internals, I am going to get the turbo installed with all the relevant bolt on bits needed aswell to be able to have that setup. Im definantly going to take it up with my tuner to decide on what power and psi i should be running, but i wanted to get a fair idea of what everyone else was getting aswell if they are in the same boat as me. Is there anyone who hasnt blown up their engine using a 3540 on stock internals? hahaa. I do understand if you want such a turbo on an rb25 you need the proper parts to make it run reliably or its not even worth doing in the first place. Otherwise you end up with a reliable rb25 lag monster. So why the hell did I want to get such a large turbo when i could have went out and bought one of those awesome highflow turbos? The answer is simple, i got the 3540 and the entire setup really cheap and thats exactly what i wanted to make the power i want. My turbo was off my mates car who was running 19psi which did end up blowing the engine because of apparent oil pump failure. internals were pretty much total stock apart from the forged pistons in it. Im not wanting to go down the same path by blowing up my engine, thats why I want to keep it safe until i can get the engine rebuilt, and then still i will have it on a safe tune. Thanks for everyones input on this topic, I guess it comes down to each persons opinion on what should be done to an engine to make reliable power, but please feel free to add whats been done to your car as i originally requested in this topic. Oh and for posting this in the Queensland section, I didnt realise where i was posting. And I dont mind if it stays in the Queensland section because Queensland rules. But if moderators think it should go to the FI section then so be it. thanks people.
  4. Settle down fellas. I do have an .82 housing, i know its gonna be laggy but im not going down the path of having a 100hp shot of nitrous on my car. im not that stupid, id prefer to go down the route of upgrading the cams. Its good to see others with somewhat stock internals in their car because thats sorta the answer i was after in the first place. And the reason im running low boost til i get a rebuild is because i have seen first hand what that turbo can do to a stock engine, and i dont want to have a broken engine. Im trying to decide how much boost to run when i get my tune. when i get the turbo installed. Im not after big hp figures until i get my rebuild. gotta try and keep it safe people. dont want broken engines
  5. I have an 0.82 rear housing with an external gate. If i was so worried about lag i would have got a supercharger. and im willing to put up with the lag for now, i know what its like with the 3540 and im willing to put up with it until i can scratch up more cash for stronger internals. I am only aiming for about 300hp for now or whatever is safe until i get the engine sorted. I want to take it to track days etc from now too because i just got my licence back after a lesson learned. thats when i get some decent power out of it. muahahah

I have the splitfires, ecu, injectors, reg, gate, bov, fmic, new afm, timing belt etc etc etc. im not yet aiming to get big hp figures just yet, until i get my rebuild done. so im willing to put up with the lag and poor response until i get some better internals. As im not the richest pimp in the world but more than eager to do it.
  7. I have driven a stock motor with just the turbo, and i agree it was a little laggy but when it came onto boost i really liked how it went. im planning on putting on the turbo while i save up for a rebuild.
  8. Well im taking the setup off my friends car. i am willing to put the $$ into the engine because this is what i want. my question was how much power peopel get out of their car with the 3540. and mods like size of injectors etc etc etc.

  10. Thanks for the help, ill just take it easy until i get my turbo and tune done. It seems to be rite just cruising round anyway. Im not confident enough to go tinkering with the settings on my power fc, i dont want to blow anything up.
  11. yea it would be around 4000 - 5000 rpm, with hardish throttle. when at those revs with light throttle it wont do it. so this soft cut rev limiter, is that in the power fc? i dont recall seeing anything like that thats all. I was thinking about reducing the rev limiter to a lower number for the time being.
  12. Hi all, i only just recently installed my power fc. Now i let it do its self learn thingy right when i put it in, but i did not attempt to adjust any of the values. It runs perfectly when driving it normally but when i put my foot down a bit, the engine light flashes once or twice really quickly. so when it does that, the knock reading on the hand controller jumps over to the right hand side of the screen. I just need confirmation that the engine light is from the crazy amount of knock happening? i have been taking it easy lately, and im not too worried about it because im getting my new turbo put in with a fresh dyno tune in a few weeks. should i be panicking at all?
  13. if the wastegate and actuator are working fine, why not look at other possibilities? haha i was about to suggest boost controller but u said u dont have one. i would check vacuum lines and pretty much anything looking for any leaks splits or anything like that. but hey im no expert.
  14. the fusebox is under the steering column on the right. well not sure bout your car but thats where it is on mine, should be under a removable panel.
  15. they are a prick to work on, the gearboxes arent the best, but they are an awesome car to drive. the bonnets look pretty tough too

  18. hi everyone, i got a GENUINE! bomex front bar i dont need anymore so i think its time to part with it. It fits perfect and it is quite easy to fit. the bar had minor damage at the base from scraping out, but nothing major, it is easily fixed. im asking $250 and that also comes with the indicators also. i am located in brisbane contact me on 0405 342 381 or pm me thanks david

  20. hi all. i have been thinking about this for most of the day and i need it resolved before i go crazy. I was wondering if an rb26 plenum and throttle body/s can fit onto an rb25 engine? if it is possible, what would i have to do to make it happen? would i need a different fuel rail? can i do it with side feed injectors? please help. thanks. if it is possible i wouldnt mind putting an rb26 plenum on my rb25. otherwise ill just end up getting a greddy plenum for rb25 & throttle body blah blah blah. any help would be appreciated thanks david
