Hi Guys, To give you a background first, i have a 32 GTR which has just had a hks twin plate clutch installed about 500kms ago. All the bushes and bearings were replaced at the time of fitment. On the weekend, i went for a cruise with mates, and the gearbox/clutch started making a whining noise when it was engaged. It got louder and now drowns out all noises at low load/speeds. It seems to be rev dependent (ie as the revs/rotating speed increases, so does the whine) and also only happens when the clutch is engaged (when the pedal is pushed in it stops, and you can here the item in question slow down and stop altogether). It also happens while the clutch is engaged and the gearbox is in neutral. I need some advice from people who may know what this is or have had it happen to them as well. I will be taking it back to the workshop where the clutch was installed to have it rectified, but i want to see if it was there fault or if i will have to pay them to fix it. If any more info is needed, just ask me. Your help is appreciated! Thanks Tony

I have two other people looking at these items at the moment, but if it falls through, we may be able to come to an agreement. The boost controller is not included. The sale is for the water temp, oil pressure gauges and the pillar mount. Thanks for your interest. Tony -

Should be able to do it with the engine in. Two weekends ago some mates and i changed out the turbos on my 32 GTR to GT-SS models with the engine in. It is very tedious and cramped but very possible. It took us 24hrs all up with a hoist, but that also included changing out: Turbos dumps Front Pipes Welding up Flanges to new catco metal cat cat cam gears timing belt water pump Bosch 044 fuel pump high flowed and port matched manifolds adjusting oil cooler lines and remote filter kit

ETA on the power FC's??

Hi There guys, Great DIY thread, i am going to be putting my 044 pump into my 32 GTR this weekend!! I had a question though. I went to get some fuel hose yesterday and noticed that you specify 5/8" size. This was not available and after thinking about it, that is a 16mm hose!! I took a stab at it and assumed you meant 3/8" which is 10mm and is the standard size on most japanese and european cars. Can someone please confirm the correct size of the fuel hose in both imperical and metric just to put me at ease?? Thanks, SLVR32GTR

I have done alot of research on this as well, as my power figure was around 300awkw, but focussed more on torque and low down power. My engine is still unopened so 300 was a good figure to ensure i get a little longer out of it before the wallet killing dreaded rebuild. I have gone with the HKS GT-SS Turbos Sard 700cc injectors Bosch 044 Fuel pump that i will adapt into the tank Standard AFM's Power FC And the rest. I chose the GT-SS's for the simple fact that they respond like standard turbos, yet easily deliver 300awkw. They are more suited to my driving as well, as 90% is on the street and in the lower rev range. The sard 700cc injectors were also an easy choice as they can supply the required fuel volumes easily and run without any drawbacks (such as bad idle, bad fuel consumption) when coupled with the power fc. I did the calcs and 550cc were adequate for 330awkw, but the 700cc's came up at a good price and allow more room if i ever decide to go bigger and faster! The Bosch 044 fuel pump was chosen because it can adequately supply the required fuel at the top end without requiring it to be re-wired (standard wiring limits pump to 11.5-11.8v and significantly reduces the pumping volumes). By using the pump on the standard wiring, also ensures that excess fuel is not being cycled through the system, heating the fuel unnecessarily. These can also be adapted into the fuel tank with minimal mods (see DIY thread). The AFM's were a concern for me as i was not sure which way to go. I was originally going to run two rb25 afm's as they would give sufficient meterage to cover the increased afm's, but ended up sticking with my original RB26 ones. After talking to Sydneykid, he let me know that the RB26 AFM's are more than adequate for my desired power level, as the key is that the fuel mapping can be also tuned off the rpm range once they max out. It is only when the AFM's max out before the turbos hit full boost that new afm's are required. (Rule of thumb is that this happens around 350awkw.) Obviously a Power FC is required to run all of these aftermarket parts, and these can be purchased at really good prices due to the constant group buys and good deals you can find in the for sale threads. I am not sure how the D-jetro would go though as i have heard reports that the six throttle bodies on the RB26 can make it hard to tune the car for idle (but im only going off what i have heard from researching it myself). Fast times would more come down to faster corner speeds and exit speeds though i would have thought, so such things as giving hicas the boot, better suspension (sydneykids kits or tein super streets), better tyres and well sorted brakes would give more of an advantage. A well sorted car in the handling aspects is always going to be hard to beat!!!! Good luck with it all though!!

Get Payin' Guys!! I hate waiting for my new toys, hehe.

Hi Guys, This has been a really interesting read! I was hoping that you guys could clear up a few grey areas that i still have tho. I am going to be running a bosch 040 or 044 pump inside my tank on my 32 GTR soon as i am upgrading the turbos and what not. My power aim will be around 320awkw and im wondering if this mod is required (as i know the pumps run approx. 230l/hr and 330l/hr respectively at 13.8v)? Where abouts is the factory voltage control module located in the car?? Is it possible to rewire the pump but still use the factory voltage control module, as to only supply the pump with a lower voltage at idle but still have the 13.8v at higher rpm?? If not, im guessing the Jaycar kit that Sydneykid was talking about will be needed. Thanks in advance for clearing it up for me. Tony

Hey mate, Is this a straight bolt on version for the 32 GTR??

Ahh fantastic. Thanks mate!!

Hey Guys, I have a 32 GTR that is going to be undergoing some significant upgrades shortly. The target output is 330awkw so obviously the AFM's need to be upgraded. By my calcs, 2 x RB25 AFM's will be more than sufficient to handle this power output, and as i am running a Power FC, coumpatability shouldnt be a problem. I know that everyone usually goes down the Z32 path, but i dont see the need in spending the extra money if the power will be well within the RB25 AFM limits. My question is, is there any difference in outputs or specs between the series 1 and series 2 r33 afm's?? Has anyone tried this before and if so, how did it go?? Thanks for the help guys, Tony

WOOHOO!!! In for sure! This came up just in time!
-
Me Too!! Need one for a 32 GTR asap!!

Thats the problem though. GTR's (32 and 33 anyway) use titania sensors that are very hard to come accross. Basically 32 O2 sensors (12mm thread) can be bought through NGK, and nissan, but 33 (18mm thread) i have only found through nissan so far. Talking to Sydneykid, he mentioned that a generic bosch lambda sensor should work for this application and only cost around $80. I have not researched this yet to verify though, so dont take it as gospel. These sensors are available through places like Repco. Tony
