Zed V R34 Gtr At Oran Park
Boosted Zed replied to Boosted Zed's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Yep I was waiting for someone to notice this and I had to make an early apex to overtake and then ran wide with shitty old slicks I had on that day and then hooked up and Goooooooone. Most zeds are neglected and hence trouble but when sorted make a more reliable package than GTR's especially at the track wheather you believe it or not. Furthermore GTS-T much more reliable than GTR. -

Yes I might go to that to. More Skyline bait. -
I love chopping GTR's at the track especially Pauls's MADGTR.VIDEO

HUGE DAY possibly the biggest dyno day on record certainly for us. Anyone been to a bigger one? Adam great job and not easy hey. Big well done. Most enjoyed the day and some thought our air fuel ratio was lean and then some rich so not consistent either way, so guess it is right. We did have the odd problem with air temp sensor which had a dicky plug new one ordered a few weeks back and arrived today, bit late. The inlet temp reading went through the roof, like 150c and so dyno compensated and gave a few rare cars huge power so rerun and all were right in the end. Some cars pinging whether customer wanted to believe it or not. Some only slight and one R32 GTR fairly stock pinging quit a lot and running lean so could save his engine by coming this day. We would have liked some time to do some demo's and before and after but I think over all a great day. Beer Baron you consistent jocularity would ahve been welcome on the day as always. MIK Ben is a great mechanic and tuner not so friendly. He was also under immense pressure mentally and physically and takes his work very pationatley and serious. I have had or tried mech's who are talkative and super friendly but don't do good workand shoud be in sales. Makes a good story I guess. You told us it was stock 6 times so are we supposed to be mind readers or interrogate customers more?? It takes longer to strap cars down and if we strapped all down would not have got through 50 cars. Your car was impressive especially with stock air box which is testimony that ram pods are not needed. There are much lower powered GTR's have ram pods and have the noise and sucking hot air. Adrian I have never seen NOS on dyno before and that damaged me and messed with my mind as SO IMPRESSIVE. Instant power and no lag and more power everywhere. Thought someone could have brought something along to beat my zed, he he... Will do it again in about a years time give us some time to recover. It will only be bigger and better.

RB26 are laggy. Oh sorry shouldn't say that here. Top Secret GTR is not as laggy now Ben tuned it up much better and makes 449 rwkw on 100 octane pump gas and will let it roar tomorrow. Stage is set for a big show. The slot car is on the dyno after tickling it this afternoon and ready for first run to demo for those there first in the morning.

Duncan Bring your 350 Z and we will have the latest Nismo spec Skyine 350GT. Time permitting dyno challenge.
-
Pretty big set up and big dyno room with multi screens and big car park and not too many other cars on a Saturday especially in the afternoon. Lunch shop right next door normally closes at 12 but will stay open longer as plenty of customers to buy V Drinks. Should be a fun and interesting day for all. Turbo Smart will be there with new product we have been working on with them and will be testing and showing as well as other suppliers. Also new M110 Fuel to test before and after etc. Also contacted HPI and Zoom mags.

I spoke with Gary Willmington who manages Wakefield and he knows nothing about this event and nothing booked at least not yet and as I said if going to be on a weekend it won't be this year at Wakefield as booked out?
-
r171 How do you know is this beer talk or fact? Is it a weekend Sat or Sunday as Wakefiled is booked out on weekends?
-
No reply so?

I emailed the organiser today to see if can find out date and when we find out who will be running around in the thunderdome. The suspense is too much.

Someone mentioned handicap. I can see it now they are going to make me drag an anchor. Gears at Wakefield. I used to change to fifth down straigth but now on rev limiter just after finish line and hold it then brake just before the kink. V8 Supercars brake well before the kink. I do ten changes and gear box with big power and high revs is problem sometimes, and miss gears also. Phitzner Dog Box on the list as probably a second or more faster in time with this alone as much faster changing, especially changing up. Email I received from organiser is extended until end of Feb. Wondering why if they have 400 plus entries as someone said?
-
Hey my car was in HPI way back. Only bling on my beast is bonus of function. I know what you mean though some bling cars are slower than stock cars in fact especially with good driver. Sounding like a good show with some tough cars. Will see when the rubber hits it.
-
OK sounds good and los of GTR's to play with. 420 entries that is huge. Yep Dunlops good although cost. Depends on time of year if winter maybe the RE55 as sound like softer.
-
Why only 12 cars do you think or have they said this somewhere and if so where? Not much of a show. They would have to have a lot more than that I would think.
-
For the record I run around 370rwkw for track days, 450 plus is for the straight line thing with guard rails. I eat R34 GTR at the track especially black ones. Waiting for Paul ........................................ She does have a lot of GTR parts though. You put your name down Roy? Woud be good to see you out there again as your silver under dog used to go hard and give a few R33's and even some GTR's a hurry up. By the way this was me last time at Wakefield trying to go flat out through the kink. Won't do that again. Found out late from Gary Wilmington the V8 Super Cars brake well before the kink. Went flying off the end of the straight as could not get round turn one and that bloke that is always there with the bucket of dirt and grass waiting to throw it in my window. Might go back to Beer Baron Training. Kick back and take it a bit easier. NOT!!!

I hope I qualify with my paint job?? Which means FATZ you might be watching. One timed lap is going to be interesting, bad enough in a Super Sprint with three timed laps. Most of the guys that will go to this will have little to no track experience and try and throw everything at one lap and over cook it for sure and spin off. Big power, stock brakes, cold tyres, bling paint job, sand trap bound. Towies should do well. I submit that there would be more over all laps and less down time with at least two timed laps with a warm up and cool down. I have offered the guys running this event my input to help it run well. I have asked for a date but nothing yet. If a date is not already set then may not be any available as I know Wakefield is fully booked for ALL Sundays this year and only a few Saturday's if any. They might change to Oran which would be good and may be better for spectators. Also they let me know no slicks aloud so will have to get the wallet out for some new semi slicks, prob do same time as my worn second hand slicks I use anywyay. Where is the link if any with info?
-
Yeah go Roy. Any date or did I miss this as could not see anywhere mentioned? Teh start of the thread they mentioned one lap only, that would be really silly and potentially dangerous as tyres cold and there would be a lot of down time fetching WRX's out fo the sand or tyre wall. As they say beware of the first and last lap and if only one then double trouble.
-
I threw my hat in the ring today. One lap would be crap though but I guess this is not actually definite??

Blitz & Beer Baron Do Tokyo V.regularupdates
Boosted Zed replied to Blitz's topic in New South Wales
Got to ask if there are any fast zeds there?? Also if you happen to find a ARC hollow rear sway bar for my boat as they no longer make and I WANT one?? -
Go the Zed, Ports and you have become a Motorsport Nut in last six months since we corrupted you at yoiur first track day there earlier this year. I went out yesterday to a invitation only Christmass Event run by Gulf Western and lots of nice cars and lots of race cars that looked fast but got in the way a lot and not a lot of track time as there were HEAPs of cars there. Ron ( Wizard) was in it with us in his auto twin turbo zed and looked like fastest road car there. I think driving had a lot to do with it. I also had the slot car wound up well and did a 1: 6.57. and no V drinking. In car transponer so proper timing not my mate with favourable stop watch he he.
-
I used it in my Slot Car at Wakefield yesterday and no problems and car felt strong all day.
-
This is big I actually calculated 41 extra four wkw for extra 2 octane points. Must have had more timing and maybe more boost added to do this? We did same on S15 yesterday and made almost 20rwkw with a bit more boost and timing. There is a question mark with the Ethanol in it effecting injector seals as well as early model injector design and electrolysis. But hey I am going to use it and guess it should be ok or they would not release it, or are we all test pilots?

Cars Smashed Inside Ship
Boosted Zed replied to Boosted Zed's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I would not be too concerned as this is rare but still costly if you only salvage say the wheel nuts. Worse than that would be sinking of a ship then total loss and not even a souvenir of the wheel nuts or pics or anything just empty bank balance. I think you will find insurance is very expensive and then the hoops you have to jump through to make a claim. "Well the ship may have sunk but may be refloated in the future so will have to wait" or" Get us three quotes on repairs and we will assess this one. Well it was on the high sees and not covered by insurance in Australia as such and you should call Japan or maybe Indonesia as closer to them at the time of the typhoon. If it was a cyclone then no problems." Yes something big and heavy alright and would have cleared a path and got more momentum with each thump and roll of the ship. You would think they would have heard something but then what do you do to stop it? -
Sounds like I should have gone. How many cars and how many runs do you get in a day? Got a link for the times?
