Nice launch Paul looks like suspsnesion is working well and squating. What suspension do you have now anyway?
-
Abo Bob I am well aware of the SAU drag day and will be there if car is all ready which it should be. I am not one to say I will do something then not turn up unless real and very good reason. Will let you know.
-
Yep I thought you got of the loud peddle on that run. mmmgtir and zed's with GTR bits.
-
Hey 2rismo very flash, tyres are good so should do better. How did Paul end up? I only saw one run he did up against girl in a pink WRX and she was slower but closer to her braket time thing. That is rude and must be frustrating. Sort of glad the slot car did not make it. What's so hard with this ten second thing anyway 4WD. You should do it dragging an anchor with those tyres and 4WD and power you have. What was your best time yesterday.

No they will only fit R33 GTS-T RB25 sorry

By the way Benm mentioned way back on this thread his dyno reading although his car has adjustablecam gear on exh cam. I found dyno reading of a car we did dyno run before and after a while back. This one is one of the better ones but gives an idea of gains and yes back to back on our dyno same day. http://300zx.com.au/Dyno/UFOR33.jpg

By the way I spoke to James re flow bench tests suck or blow he has found to be identicle in many items tested, when he has taken the time to test both ways. No he did not set up this test with Plazmaman plenum on blow only suck. Ittakes quite a bit of time to jig up to do the test. Also I was over at Plazmamans this week and he had about 15 ready to just needed polishing.

Turbox when I first looked at your pic on your post I thought you owned a BMW as it looks very professional EURO look. Interesting and professional design. Re flow figures correct it is only an indicator but a fairly good one. It is no accident or surprise that the Plazmaman one independently tested by James from Abrasive Flow Engineering on his proper flow bench test flowed much more evenly. Also as mentioned in reality the difference would probably be more. We have done the dyno test but He has done lots of testing for us and we use his info on our zed race car for tuning cylinders as we know which ones get more air as an indicator anyway and trim injectors with Autronic to suit and found to be correct. He does lots of extrude honing of GTR and ZED exhaust manifolds for us and flow bench tests before and after and ports and extrude hones to suit and to bring up the lazier runners to even out and increase flow. We have not done back to back tests yet with plenum and yes we will do this.
-
Received the results from flow bench test yesterday done with the runners bolted together and was quite a few hours to set up and back to back tests. The stock plenum maximum variation is 26.5 being from one of the centre runners that the throttle body shoots most fo the air at and the lowest was number 1. Plazmaman maximum variation was 16.9 cfm both tested at 25 inches of water. The equation would probably be much worse with high boost. The other benefit and mainly for big turbo's and high boost is that the Plazmaman plenum is much larger in volume. Another benefit which ever plenum you use is match porting and porting of heads.

I just checked and in actual fact they are $145, and yes we will include post to Umina in the price for you as an SAU forum member. Please phone or email us if you would like to order - these are in stock and ready to post
-
We have Gates heavy duty timing belts in stock for $190 to suit your car and can post to you - we are based in Castle Hill in Sydney

You know it and been there lots and I should learn.

Reason is we have been way too busy leading up to our track day which is now over, Abrasive flow has also been too busy as he was extrude honing my turbo's and had to make tooling etc and Oyay, Plazmaman has also been very busy, he also made a new intercooler for my car which we logged at the track and max inlet temps were 25c ambient around 16c so very good with the power it makes. Anyway all in the clear now and won't be long. Yes test before and after is the go and conslusive. By the way has anyone tested Greddy ones at all or just believe the sticker??
-
Talk about calling kettle black, strong opinions on tested and proven opinions. If you believe the hype that all Jap products are the best then you need to have a closer look as someare not. Yes from our dyno tests and other workshops I have spoken to the Greddy Plenum loses power which I was suprised at first. The runners are too short so bottom end will be lost and the runners are possibly too big and inside very rough disturbing air flow. There is nothing wrong with factory runners so no need to change them. Yes we have flow bench tested the stock plenum and there is a huge difference in air flow which is not good for power but more so dangerous when winding the boost up as the middle runners get much more air than the outside ones. Also did you forget the dyno result. Plazmaman does not slap things together, you obviously don't know what you are talking about and not heard of him or seen his work. You also mentioned getting the throttle bolted on the front well Greddy does this also so? If we had a rough cast plenum and called it UAS and Greddy came out with a nicely made one like ours I am sure you would be arguing the opposite. We do not have a Greddy Plenum to test but if anyone has one they want to lend us then bring it on. We are still waiting for James from Abrasive Flow Engineering to make a jig to flow bench test the Plazmaman one.

Uas Track Day, Sunday 1st May Wakefield
Boosted Zed replied to Boosted Zed's topic in Events Archive
Hey Andrew you could be a strong candiate for the drift trophie expecially now you qualify as you don't work for us any more. Also it will be the launch of our new section of UAS called Unique Medial consiting of a guy called Blair who is a pro photographer who will be taking vids of the day and plan of having CD or DVD's of the day for sale. So if you want some live footage of your car and you in action here is your chance. -
Hey Roy who's this GTR Jason dood faster than my slot car??? Give me a dog box and will be a lot closer if not beat but pretty impressive times. Does he get out to the track much as I have not seen it? What colour is this beast or pics or website??
-
The best track day you ever go to. Lots of Zeds and GTR's GTS-T's, 200SX, FTO, SOARER etc. Pro Race Drivers to give in car and pit instruction to improve your driving and times. Professional in car transponders for timing. Events caller. Trophies. Come see if you can beat our zed slot car. Better still have a go no experience necessary. Spectators welcome. See details on our site on home page. 300ZX.com.au

Will do Ben and that will be a challenge for me. What about Wakefield 1st May and bit closer to you but not as good as E Creek.
-
Getting multi shim Cometic gaskets from USA which are real good but none in stock yet on way should be nest week and very good price compared to Japo ones and as good if not better. Will also have the Bakelite inlet gaskets soon.

Put new motor in and new D2 suspension and went to Nissan Datsun Nationals Easter Sunday at Wakefield. Only got three runs on the full circuit and only managed a 1 min 9.48 although still fastest car on the day next fasted was a Dato 120y coupe FJ20 near 200rwkw 900kg 2 seconds slower. Heaps of zeds and a few Skylines and a R32 GTR. Got back and pulled motor out Tuesday to remove turbo's to get extrude honed and high temp coated and a few other minor changes then going back in next few weeks ready for our track day. Bring on your GTR's or GTS-T's. PS more GTR parts as now has GTR bronze valve guides and valve stem seals. We measured and found the valve guides to be slightly shorter and protrude less into the ports so less restriction and proven on flow bench test.

Yes boost does drop off and yes 12 psi to 9.5 ish debatable what boost is measured at but yes high in revs the boost is lower as they often do? Do you remember what difference the cam gear was in power? What boost crontrol do you have? When is the question I am scared to guess but SOON.
-
By the way Benm's car has adjustable exhaust cam gear which we have seen 15rwkw alone with that mod on RB25. It was also more than 9.5psi more like 12 or 13psi to make close to 200rwkw. We have done the dyno test and as I stated made lots more power than it should have with the mods but only way we will know for sure is to do a back to back changing plenum only. This is the big part of the gain but keep in mind the quality intercooler also would give a bit more power. To stop the beer talk we will also do a flow bench test and we will be doing this over next few weeks and we will put the results on this thread and our website. Not only compare top end but mid range as well. Not only will it make more power but safer as more even air flow to each runner and cooler. Bonus bit is the bling. Re the price they may work out less yet as have not finalised the price and no price on our site yet. For those that know me I often tell how much things actually cost even show invoices. I am not a rip off but have over heads and three kids and a race car to feed, he he.
-
James from Abrasive Flow Engineering has the figures for the stock plenum and it was a massive difference on flow bench test which is a good indicator. I will get him to dig them out when he flow tests the UAS plenums.

He you guys are cheap, you must have cheap rent or very efficient as could not opperate for long charging $60 bones an hour in Sydney. Can you fix zeds too? He he.
