BFG Drag Radials-experiences/thoughts?
Boosted Zed replied to MS-75's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
MS-75 I have the 275/50/15 on Pro Star 15 x 8 in rims which stick out a little with the offset. 60 series are much higher and might be a bit high and rub? Also 7 inch is a bit narrow for this tyre but could get away with it although more chance of turning on the rim with low pressure and big launch. Key is a good burn out as 2rismo showed me then 6 to 6.5k plus launch without dropping it worked for me. -
Police training is for Police yes. One week training and quite good. Although as some of you know Police are happy to give you advice and a lot firmer and costly than Ian Luff. The idea is to have your fun and testing at the track. On the road you can still have fun testing the handling and braking and accelerate up to the speed limit that is.

HD SYSTEMS HS TYPE COILOVER question
Boosted Zed replied to boosted32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You show em Roy. By the way their is another option for R32 GTR being a top shelf model HR model with remote cannister so has bump and rebound adjustment and all alloy so light weight. Price is $2395 a set. This is VERY cheap for this style of suspension. Proflex top shelf stuff like this is more like $6k and more. Not saying same quality but may not be much in it. I checked and they don't make for any other cars yet including for my zed slot car. I think R32 GTR and 300ZX ssuspension is same or very similar so might be able to use them. I am checking on this. They require 10 sets ordered and they will make for other cars. -
Correct the R33 has one hole that is long and R32 is short and this is what needs to be Tig welded and linished flat. Nissan have no listing for N1 oil or water pump for R33 RB25 either Carlo was the first to get this and the RB26 bolts straight on.
-
Correct prices have gone up a lot on N1 water pumps. There is a difference in 32 and 33 we mod the R33 N1 to suit R32. There is no N1 pump for R32 and the R32 water pump cost a lot more.

HD SYSTEMS HS TYPE COILOVER question
Boosted Zed replied to boosted32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yes boosted32 you can adjust the over height and hence the extra locking ring. This stops squashing the spring if you want your car to sit a bit higher than the normal very low. Re the shock dyno I plan on doing this and I have had the Tein dyno tested to compare with and they were nothing flash. The spring rates are not too hard. Most of the other Jap brands are way harder than this which are too hard but those rates soudn about right for performance road come track. My Tein are 670 front and were 570 rear which was way too hard. Yes I know it is a heavy boat compared to a R32 but not that much prob 250 or 300kg heavier. But if you want you can ask for what ever spring rate you want within reason which is also a added feature. -
Any enquires email us direct [email protected] or call. 02 9634 8000. As I stated this is a special really for those who come to the shop on the day. But considering this was not mentioned at the start and for those who have enquired here we will do special prices as per this thread and freight and handling $15 go to orders section on our site GTR.com.au . For anyone else if you call or email always mention SAU discount which is usually 10% on parts.

Seems like people have a prob with driving instructors for some reason. Not sure why. Maybe some don't like being told what to do or something. I really can't understand you statement PK2. It also seems that maybe who ever we get someone won't like them and maybe most won't like who ever it is after being told how to drive. Too many cups full syndrome maybe. YO880 started agood and much needed idea and hey quite possibly save someones life or at least prevent damaging their car so we should support such initiatives I say.

HD SYSTEMS HS TYPE COILOVER question
Boosted Zed replied to boosted32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have sold my Tein HR in my zed speed boat. I will know for sure re track times and feel often car after fitting them. I can say that the spring rates are MUCH more sensible than most other Jap coil overs other than Tein Flex but well over twice the price. Both for road and track and you can have TOO hard a spring rate and car will lock up brakes too easy and skip and bounce car all over the road and track and can even be worse than stock suspension. The other big benfit is you can adjust the overall height not just the spring platform height. -

Whre is Groote?

Now I have seen them close up I am very impressed with these coolers and a shame they are stopping making them. Inside the cooler the tabulators sit in about an inch to limit turbulence going into each. External they have extra cuts or layers of alloy fins to increase surface area for heat dissipation and have angles on the tubes to aid air flowing through to radiator. Bottom line they should be very efficient and also low pressure drop. Tests would confirm this I suspect.

We sent via post well over a week ago. The joys of living in Darwin or Perth means it takes a week or more to get there.

I have done Peter Finlay, Ian Luff and a Peter Fitzgerald day. I round them all to be excellent. I must be different as I think Ian Luff brakes the ice in what can be a tense experience and laugh my head off. I also like Paul from BD4's being blunt so maybe I need help. I have also done a week training NSW Police Driver Training and have run 9 track days now as well as attended many others. There is a big difference with track driving and road driving and education and forming correct habits and driving techniques then work on skills to go with it. Driving on road is much more defensive driving as other cars and pedestrians are involved. With Ian who is vastly experienced I think the clash happens when he knows he is very good and may clash with others that think they are but are not, but don't want to be told. He has often been on TV with so called young over confident drivers in their hectic WRX etc and positions them or shows them to makes fools out of themselves. If you do use Ian you could prime him to tone down the sarcasm. I would also be willing to be involved if you do a day. Our next track day is 1st May at Wakefield which is a way off yet. I might add we use top class instructors at our days that give advice both in car and in pits. Including in the past Ian Luff. Also Warren Luff who came 12th or was it 13th at last Bathurst in the DJ Ford, Jose Fernandez who came 3rd in Konica Cup and 3rd at last Bathurst. Jonathon Web 2nd at last Bathurst last Porsche Cup and often in top 5. John Boston and Aaron Lewis also both very experienced and very good instructors. Hard to get much better caliber than this as they simply are not available. Some are good drivers but not good instructors or only track not road also.

In case some are still wondering if I actually did it. I am not sure even some who know me had to confirm with me thinking I may have made it up. Not exactly sure why this is the case and wondering if I lack credability. I certainly never bull crap so? Video. http://nismo.com.au/downloads/zed108.wmv

I am at home now so can't check but best to email Tim and his email address is [email protected] Some were sent out Monday but the bulk were sent out today. Group Buy is now over. For those installing themselves use never seize grease or some sort of lubricant or grease on the thread as they are dissimilar metals and can become locked from corrosion.

funkymonkey yes it was me, the sun is in your eyes late in the arvo. Then at night the prob I had was that there are no dash lights which we will now correct and often with smoke in the cabin which we need to see where this is coming from and also correct I found it hard to see the tacho. I have a shift light set at 8000rpm and rev cut at 8200rpm.
