Also yes Adrian 2rismo it was your example leading the way re the burnout thing I just followed the leader. Now you come to our next track day and follow me? Check out the SAU add on back.

Yes it is a bit odd I can tear around turn 1 at Eastern Creek at near 200ks but need a cage to go down a straight and with the walls so close. Not saying CAMS are slack but ANDRA a bit strict, but then hey I have seen some of these hectic sick bro drag racer gear knob drivers drive. Cage I have is only a Cusco bolt in job. Getting the Groove Rider Fabrications special, including the strut tower tie in support. Yes still mainly a circuit car and will sacrifice a little weight for better handling for circuit. Funky Monkey love the Zed Barge thing. Big fat and wide but with grunt. Wreckedhead I am pretty confident I will run a 9 in my circuit car before you do and not with current motor, it is for sale as going VQ35 500rwkw and alloy block and 100kg less weight. I will be waiting for you in the 9 sec club. Have you even run a 10 and not on Grand Turismo??

Comp TA street radials 275 50 15 . Rubbing it in everywhere especially the doubters. I called Jason at Street machines to tell him I knocked him off the fence by only 4 thousands of a sec. Will be in HPI in a few months in the back as they have a delay printing.

I found out today they were held up by customs for inspection. Better than letting in bombs and drugs I guess. Anyway a little overdue but they are arriving tomorrow as released and will send out asap.
-
Better than just talking at least.

Yes there is a zed Escort Racing 7.45 sec 183mph. Rego, why so I can lose my license? Yes I might have to go somewhere where there are some fast GTR's and none in Sydney, although a lot of beer talking. I will be happy to have the fastest Zed or GTR circuit times and drag in Australia, and throw in the drift to stuff tings up. I would like to see some of these drag boys drift or circuit race, even with their cars set up, could be dangerous.

Hey Nick I know I will be telling you about it for at least that long. But not hanging my hat on this as will do better just with what I learnt about things last night and knowing what set up re tyres. Also changing suspension in it to fully adjustable suspension including shock height. The TEIN shocks I have you can't adjust the overall height only through the spring height which then compresses the tender spring and main spring and makes less travel as well as stiffer. We had to raise the rear almost 10mm as the offset of the new drag wheels were sticking out and we didn't want it to hit the guard, but now it was not squating as well.

I am hooked on adrenalin and motorsport. Won't be going rallying though at least not in the zed. Hey Nick no more doubts in the boat now?

10.894 130.85mph 60foot 1.690 this was late in the night got the tryre pressure and suspension setting right almost out of fuel did a crap burn out Adrian you would have laughed, as got the line lock button on off all wrong, your fault for programming me with that one, did an OK 60 foot and still did a 10.8. the next run did a 1.597 60 foot but missed second gear change bad so pulled out of it. Then ran out fo night and fuel. More in it but now roll cage time before they let me back. Did the BIG WWW.SKYLINESAUSTRALIA.COM sticker on the back proud.
-
Finally got the tyre pressures right and me sorted on the drag racing thing and late in the night we cracked the 10's last night at WSID. Our second event at drags, and it was on street tyres. Exact time was 10.894 1.690 60 foot and 130.85mph Ambient temp 22C. The run after that did a 1.597 60 foot but then missed second gear and then ran out of fuel and night was over anyway. Off to get a roll cage then will be back next year.

No false starts this time tow truck here any minute now and off we go.

Remember it has a big fat Zed arse. Might put the big dual rear wing on hey? Adrian you can be passenger no probs circuit racing but driving? I have seen you do burn outs remember, not driving my beast, can you imagine.

Got the lap top working Paul and tuned her up on 109 fuel 407.5 rwkw.T Was able to add a bit more timing but not a lot more power up around 7 rwkw. The main problem is the actuators are not strong enough and blow open and will only hold 23 psi. This may sound like a lot for some but the engine can handle much more, and the turbo's could flow a bit more if boost was able to increase. The best bit is it makes 760nm at only 4400rpm and torque does not drop bad like some, 200rwkw around 3400 rpm and makes 24psi around 4300rpm. The power does not drop off much high in the revs and keeps going to 7500rpm and will go more. It has such a huge rpm power ban even better than we expected. From 3400pm to make 200rwkw up to 7500rpm. Great for circuit, drags or drift, won't mention what it would be like on the road. No need to do big launch at drags tomorrow night, just a few revs and floor it. No exotic turbo's and manifolds with external gates, and only reground factory cams. Just flows smooth and has the right mix of bits.

BF Goodrich Comp TA Street Radials 275 50 15 bubble gum tyres with ballony side walls. Had to do a lot of mods with custom rear brakes and long studs etc to fit them. Set it up for easy transition back to circuit or drift though. Got the line locker and yes did a test behind our dyno room and works well. Yes you have shown me the way with the burnout thing. Hard to get rid of the circuit raing hat and looking after the car syndrome. Had to lose the little purse and lippy that Paul gave me and was hanging off the key ring of the Commodore. The wife and kids were really getting worried so a souveneer on the shelf now. Wonder what I get when I do a ten?
-
Yes the slot car and full UAS team will be at this one. Zed is sorted with small rear brakes and drag semi slicks and they fit up etc. Wheel alignment today and a tune tonight after some more incentives. I figure when I do a ten and get thrown out until I get a full cage may as well boot it over the line. 10.5 sounds the go. Anyway anyone else up for it. Or come watch the boat break or enter the hall of fame.

***CANCELLED***Eastern creek Twilight Drive Evening 19/11/04
Boosted Zed replied to red900ss's topic in Events Archive
HMmmm might come. All getting the slot car set up for drags for the off season as gets a bit hot this time of year and they go and do a arvo evening cooler time of day thing which opens the door again. -
Luv the burnout Adrian and the look on your face like you are concentrating or something. A big appology for not going. I hate pikers. I can say with my cold and a vertibra out in top of my back and massive headache I have never felt so bad. I was actually on the way but when we finally went and got the special long shank wheel nuts for new 15 inch drag wheels Wednedsay arvo from depot as interstate courier stuffed up somehow, we found they hit the callipers even with spacers. We were cutting it fine as had some last minute things to do on the Wednesday to the car and this was the last straw. I went home and prob lucky did not force myself to go as I was pretty bad shape. I heard it was a big night and a few of my zed buddies turned up so all good. Everyone had a great nigth. Paul L thanks for the hand bag and lippy yesterday. My wife saw it when I got home and was really wondering WHAT THE. I started to explain and she is still a bit. WHAT THE. Anyway the anticipation builds. The brakes are sorted had to do some mods to rear end to fit the wheels. I WILL be there this Wednesday night for sure.

My 100RWKW R33 Dyno Results
Boosted Zed replied to DezertEagle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It is on at the moment no rain there today they say so unless it rains it is ON. Yes Paul I have a cold but will be there tonight with the speed boat. -
I am keen and will be there around 4pm I guess. Sunny now this morning but forcast rain so? Does anyone know of a website or do we do the old fashion thing and call WSID to see if on? Yep 2rismo got the drag wheels and tyres now, line locker and more, just to slam dunk it. Dezerteagle no probs we are flat out anyway and hope to see you out there. There will be plenty of zed bait for you as a few coming. Hey B man such confidence now. By the way you coming with the beast?
-
Hey Doughboy we do heaps of track days and drift and now drags and the zed is strong and we push it hard it is not a dyno queen. Paul yes if wet not on so you can keep your 4wd which would flog me for sure. I wonder how much you would beat me by with 4wd in the wet and then disconnect your front drive shaft and we race rear wheel only in dry. Zed says CYA. By the way just got home from late night tune after some more tinkering we have been doing last week. Just hit 401rwkw with no more boost and no loss down low with more mid range and top end. Makes 200rwkw at 3400rpm. 10s here we come. Hope weather is good. If rainy or looking like rain then it will be off. If a dog looks like pissing in the marshalling area it is called off.
-
Paul if your engine falls out then I might listen otherwise get there, and put your lipstick back in your purse. Or was some wimp from work posting for you?
-
Looks better in the flesh and those wheels are tough. Test drive well no not me yet although two of my mechs did today, and they both said VERY nice, which is hard for them to get excited sometimes. Will enjoy your company on the Sydney tracks next year Paul. YOu have worked hard and very happy for you. Blitz you got to get one soon.
-
Do you mean me. No I have Nismo 555cc and with 384rwkw runningout of fuel a bit so we have converted to twin fuel filter for less restriction adn turning up the fuel pressure a bit. Waiting for the Skyline come back about non fast ones in town?? Anybody>> Where is wreckedhead?
-
I thought I had the fastest Zed in the world. I felt fast compared to the Sydney Skylines last week at least. Seems all the fast Skylines are interstate?

Neutral camber in rear and neutral toe is the go, KTS control arms on way.
