.Still haven't weighed her but removed around 200kg but added a bit with roll cage and big intercooler oil cooler, accusump etc so guess around 1450kg. Yes I showed everything that big SAU sticker on back. There were no GTS-T's out which is rare and a R33 GTR Daniel the white one with wheels painted black that comes to our track days and a nice red R34 GTR with GTRS turbo's and all the fruit.

Went to Eastern Creek today with a new in car timer with laser beam set up accurate to 1 /100th of a sec. Anyway best time was 1 min 46.74. Must be all those GTR parts in her.
-
Had a top day did a 1 min 46.74, how is that Duncan?
-
Anyone going? Did not see any posts re this day and there normally is? We are going out to do some testing and have some fun. Bring your helmet if you want to feel the zed. Call me if coming out 0414 34 8000.

Yes confirmed can do the GTR and GTS-T and for same price. Cusco or Tein cost over $500 for similar item.

Also the GTR's have wider bushes. I am communicating with KTS re these as they need wider alloy peices for the spherical joint loctators.

Also RRR I can understand your frustraion. Tim has explained bad boy and all sorted. Even though it was only a gear knob it still should not happen but these days very rare for us and we handle $5 to $6k of tackle and service each day. With this volume and lots of gear knobs etc and orders and it is a masterpeice of co ordination but sometimes the wheels fall off. Our supplier told us could not get this gear knob so maybe it was not right info. Tim is very good but not perfect I certainly am not and this is why I have Tim and Shane. Also need to clarify it was not three months but a bit over 2 months and not so many emails I think two or three and none to me. If you or anyone if you or anyone ever has a prob and not getting sorted ASK for ME. If a company does not do the right thing and not resolved then yes tell others. Especially if the boss says jam it or ignores. -
They do not suit 4 WD Skylines which have a bend in them and trying to source these. Theya re very easy to install. No dust cover but does not seem to be a prob. If over time the spherical joint wore out they can be changed no probs and option to get better chromolly and teflon joints, which are not cheap at around $100 or more each. Installation and wheel alignment is extra.

I would like to know about this one as I certainly know what you are talking about. I can assure you we do not hide, in fact the opposite often happens where customers sometimes take advantage of us. Please call me or email me your phone number so I can sort it out. My staff are very good but also handle many orders and this may have slipped through the cracks. Who did you speak to by the way? What was the product and do you still have it or? Actually I PM you my mobile number. -
Oil starvation solution for RB engines.
Boosted Zed replied to Boosted Zed's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Don't know how long it lasts but at 7000rpm or more it only needs a very short time to do damage. You would need to have a passenger and watch the oil pressure guage I guess and even then may not be a accurate indication of very short time of oil starvation as there is a delay. Fitting one in a GTR engine bay may be difficult. Might fit though or may need a hole saw, or put in the boot and just run a line under the car. It only uses one line as it does not circulate the oil. -
A product worth looking into if you go to the track. RB motors are notorious for oil surge and starvation problems at the track. Saves putting a sump baffle although this would still be a good idea. A cheap option for high performance road or track car. Check out www.accusmp.com and this shows how it works http://www.accusump.com/acc_tech_diagrams.html I put one of the smaller ones in my zed race car recently. We also moded the sump to prevent oil falling out of the the bottom of the sump under g 's as an extra and also stops oil foaming up by the crank by thrashing the oil around. Although Zeds don't normally have oil starvation probs. Bottom line is they keep constant oil pressure when oil pressure drops from oil starvation from harsh braking, accelerating and cornering, as oil in the bottom of the sump comes out and you have oil starvation problems. It is an alternative to pulling the motor out and putting sump baffle in, or can be used in conjunction with this and oil restrictors to the head. So if you are concerned about hitting the track and don't want to spend thousands pulling motor out and putting sump baffle consider this option. May also be a better option than a sump baffle. You can buy them direct from USA companies or we can supply them for around $400 to $500 Morroso brand. Plus - 10 braided hose and connections including T piece into the oil cooler line. Prob extra $150 to $200. Simple and easy to install. Hopefully get a few more of you guys out to the track with us and off the streets. I am sure you would like to beat my zed.

If can still get I will get one and I don't change my mind. 1.5W UHF CB Radio Group buy offer $64.30 + Shipping. I have two similar ones, earlier model versions we use at our track days and could use another. Great price. Wondering if anyone has one of the really small ones, about half this size, and how good they are? email me [email protected]

A lot of trickery. I was having a rest on the lounge at work and I see Nick with a smirk on his face righting something. I think yeah well. He sends over Mat who works for us and says hold this, and zooms in and yes got me.

cheap and paintjob shouldnt appear in the same sentence

Hey Tosh GTR's are not immortal. Roy Zed was strong but did not come up fastest car. Kinda The fish that got away story. I was only timed in the first session when I was setting up tyre pressures and suspension getting used to new set up etc Also was hitting rev limiter which we had a bit low only 7,000rpm. Second timed session when I was rounding everyone up, although Geoff from SSS Automotive was not there, only came back very late when he left to change rear diff so? One of my Zed fans with a zed stop watch timed me at 48 something secs. Skylines ruled again though in numbers and times. Lots of rubber on the track which got distracting and exciting when getting up close to car in front prior to over taking with rubber hitting your screen. Big role up had 50 cars. Times will be on our site soon.

I could put a GTR steering wheel on. No a bit much and a bit too big. -
What are the part numbers for brake pads?
Boosted Zed replied to Duncan's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
EBC Green is for cars up to 750kg according to a recent sales brochure. We find they also ware out at the track way too fast which seems consistent with the weight issue so stopped selling them years ago -
Eastern Creek Trackday - Thursday 9th September

The zed slot car ran out of GTR's to play with and then rain and went home. We had a vibration in new one peice tailshaft though which was evident down the straight. -
Iridiums are better and can get already gapped and colder heat range. Either Nippon Denso or NGK and options with heat range from 6 through to 11, factory is 5 but in hotter climate like most of Australia and with more than factory hp 6 or 7 is better and .8 gap if boosted. The Iridiums come 1.1mm gap or .8mm and the Nipon Denso have a tappered U grove earth. Iridiums don't last as long as Platinum but work much better and copper plugs are cheap and don't work well or last.

Just to let everyone know we are getting heaps of interest in this one. Thanks again for everyone's support and promotion to helps us keep running these days by covering costs. This one will by far be the biggest roll up of big gun GTR's ever. I will mention a few that are coming. The yellow SARD R33 GTR, Geoff in his Gibson powered GTR which was on our dyno today and puts out some mega torque, Joe also from SSS automotive with his 3 litre bottom end and top mount turbo's monster, Gary with his red R32 GTR race car that just missed having ready for our last track day with Hollinger 6 sp sequential, 240's etc, Daniel in his well set up white R33 GTR and more. Then Jacky with his S15 and very good driver should be top contender, B Man with his touch R33 GTS-T, EVO 7, a 300ZXTT down from Brisbane that does quite a few track days up there, at UAS getting pumped this week but nothing big. Peter from Advan says he has 6 cars coming which I suspect will be trick cars also. Nathan from Grey Imports coming in his Skyline GTR original. My Fat Slot car is all sorted and sorted out at Eastern Creek on Thursday. Oran will do 47 sec or lower. Not too late to get in but filling fast as have around 30 and max for timing anyway is 40.
