  1. Sold that old trailer getting a new custom nice one, with 300ZX wheels naturally. Picking up Duncans tonight. Benm I can prob take you for a spin. PS Got another GTR bit for the zed, accelerator peddle whihc the GTR one has the bulge at the bottom left side for heal toeing for down changing. Skyline R32 and R33 GTS-T have straight one like zed and yes GTR one goes straight on and only around $20 from memory.
  2. I sold the AP Racing 6 psitons with adapters and 365mm rotors on specials for only $2300 delivered to Melbourne with new coated nuts fo bolts for the alloy hats and skimmed the rotors. I guess you did not want to know that. Now have same size 365 but the race car three heat and freeze treatment process that make the rotors and pads work and last much longer and they don't warp. Lighter Porsche Mono block 6 piston callipers and Ferado race pads with new teflon lines and lighter billet alloy adapters. I need bigger brakes for the back now with in cabin bias adjustment. Low 47 secs Oran park on the way.
  3. Anyone got a trailer for hire? I am getting one custom made but not ready for a month or so and spending too much on towing?
  4. If we get a refund then yes. It won't rain. Yes will be aiming at that time Duncan. Yes just needs a screen and one of the intercooler tanks replaced. New brakes are great and engine is crisp and strong and survived an absolute thrashing from me. I drove it like it was stollen and the Drift Nationals. The two GTR's from SSS Automotive will be there and it will be a battle with the zed for sure. Also Gary who did not quite make our last day will be there with his R32 GTR race car with the Holinger Sequential and 320rwkw and a very good driver.
  5. I will be there in the slot car for track tuning and testing with one of my techs, prior to our day on next Sunday 12th at Oran. Anyone who wants some free track set up advice from me or Adam who will be there just come up and see us. We will have infra red temp gauge, intercomp bubble camber and castor gauge, tyre pressure gauge, wheel torque wrench and other tools etc. Also for a fee we could tune if you have Microtech, Motec, Autronic or Power FC but would need to pre arrange this. Eastern Creek is the perfect track for real time tuning under full load conditons in the higher gears which you can't do on the street. Conditions are slightly different load to dyno. He is mainly there to help me set up the zed so don't ask him to change pads or anything but happy to help out where we can.
  6. Also has R34 GTR rims on it thanks to Steve at Just Jap which we used at Drift Nationals. They realy suit the car and the GTR badge on the centre caps look the part. We actually used a VQ30 all alloy power steering pump on it. Not sure if I mentioned but it also has R32 GTR Nismo diff mounting bushes.
  7. Yes Darren did well as it was very tough competition. We sponsor this car and he did our name well. Shame I bombed out as the arena and atmostphere was the best. I am dong the fathers day thing today. Zed is 4 seater, a bit heavier but handle much better, and normally over 1600kg but we are down on this by about 180kg. I have not weighed the car.
  8. Yes it was a scare and a shock and I can't believe how strong they are. Funny you should mention torque as we just put motor back in with new custom cams and extrusion honed exhaust manifolds and it makes so much more torque. Arouind 25% more, we could not keep it on the dyno Thursday night with anything less than four in the car and strapped down hard. 610nm at wheels and this is on 18psi 324rwkw. It made 345rwkw with 21psi prior to new additions. We will get better and wider tyres on and more people and run her up. It is a wild animal to try and keep straight. Prob better with less power for drifting as hard not to hold back. By the way did you see the big www.skylinesaustralia.com sticker on the back?
  9. Where is Wrecked head when you need him? Getting lots of interest in this one from all over and some tough cars coming. Appreciate your support and previous best lap times will fall.
  10. Yep bonnet pins weren't engaged. Simple things. Will NEVER happen again. Carbon bonnets are strong almost no damge to bonnet only roof and windscreen. Had boost at only 18psi as hard thrashing match, so was 324rwkw, and very hard to tame this heavy beast even though it is lightened over stock. I was coming on to the straight in third rather than 2nd like everyone else and let it rip and suvived this about ten laps before it slung off into a tyre barrier. Bent one intercooler tank and one tyre flung around and hit drivers door and made a big dent. No probs will be powering Thursday at Eastern Creek for test and track tune then our track day next Sunday for the big one. Big roll up thousands of people and those Jap drivers were awesome. The blond guy doing heli's with only leg in the car only, AMAZING.
  11. Obviously its a GTS-T, possibly a 4 door at that. The trading post is notorious for its misleading and inaccurate ads Nick
  12. I was there today and going tomorrow in the zed, WITH big skylinesaustralia sticker on the back which might confuse some. Although it does now have R34 GTR wheels. Never drifted before, on a track anyway and it is tricky with such a good handling although still relatively heavy car. As in hard to throw the big girl her off course. Smokes the tyres well though. A few skylines out doing well I saw today. Should be big day tomorrow. Worth checking out.
  13. Just a quick note to let everyone know about our track day coming up Sunday 12 September 2004. There is always people who after the event say they would have come if they were aware it was on. Details on our site. Cost is $195 to enter and free entry into the track as all specators over 10 years old pay $10. Oran Park on a Sunday cost HEAPS, this is now one of only two Sydney Circuit Racing tracks and is in big demand. It costs around $4000 to hire on a Sunday, Public Liability $2130, Ambulance $450 or could be more now, time keeper same, events caller, pro race drivers, trophies, staff etc all adds up to over $8000. Divide that by 30 or so cars depends on how many enter and $ ? Last Oran Park Track Day we ran at over $2k loss. Company Secretary ( wife ) says get at least to almost break even or NO MORE. So we need your support. So rather than just talk about it come check it out at least or better still enter. Plus world of difference from Wakefield during the week or other cheaper tracks out of Sydney, as no pro drivers to instruct, no time keepers with expensive transponders in each car, no events caller or trophies. It is actually very cheap for what you get compared to other similar days, in fact Half price of some. Pro drivers we have for this one is bigger than ever. Jose Fernandez Ford Konica cup driver and instructor for Ian Luff driving School. John Boston very experienced driving instructor also for Ian Luff. Aaron Lewis vast experience in racing and drives in Improved Production. Jonathon Web who races in Porsche Cup and usually in top 6. Yes there is heaps of laps and the biggest collection of imports at a track to compete against the clock. Also drift comp middle of the day. Zed v's GTR or GTS-T challenge is on. PS Steve from Just Jap looked after me on a set of R34 GTR wheels for the zed for drifting. Looks tough and every day becoming more of a GTR.
  14. Yep Andrew's 321GO RB20 R32 GTS-T made 178rwkw with E Boost set at 15psi standard RB25 turbo, FMIC and full 3 inch exh. Also Dave's GTR who won RB26 stock turbo went back on dyno last and sorted out boost controller and made 280 somethingrwkw. Yes it was a big day and thanks to SAU gang for the biggest ever Dyno Day we have had. Thanks Uncle Nick and Carlo. Lots of good pics including that immaculate purple GTR. PS. I had my third V drink in my life. Hope I can sleep tonight. I think I might be dreamin Skylines.
  15. They are expensive and hard to get but looking into stroking the VQ30 to VQ35. Getting info from Nissan re this, probably same block just different sleave, pistons and rods. We will be getting ARGO rods anyway and forged pistons so no biggy there. 100 kilos lighter with more HP and torque and maybe two Disco Potatoes and wacko probably 450rwkw with out too much lag. The new Nissan range is strong, nicley balanced and not only much lighter but much lighter rotating mass. We pulled appart a VQ30 NA that we are using as a jig and as a test we weighed the scond hand pistons and rods together, not cleaned so had some carbon and oil, the maximum variations was .5 of a gram. To give you an idea this is one small posted note. That is VERY good. A workshop near us was rebuilding a 350 Chev V8 boat anchor Commodore motor and just pistons alone were 8 grams difference and they were new.
  16. Well there have been a few conversions to RB26 into Zeds which is backwards wondering if anyone would go the other way. Big prob is the 4 wd set up. The new generation ALLOY block VQ30 is the way to go which many of the Jap GTR GT500 Circuit cars are using.
  17. Bottom end is built and the rest of the motor is going back together over next week, then she goes in. Did a few mods such as custom cams with 10 degrees more lift, extrusion honed the factory exhaust manifolds and did some match porting and a few other things. It has a big SKYLINESAUSTRALIA sticker on the back maybe a GTR sticker on the front hey? Duncan how is your GTR going and are you coming to our track day for the big GTR v ZED challenge?
  18. Yes many wonder and think we are cheating, and well yes we are. I thought to disclose some of our secrets of our zed tt race car and why it goes so well. Yes Nissan make some things universal to different family of cars and engines as we have found over the years of checking. My zed actually has quite a few GTS-T and GTR bits including. Nismo GTR bushes in diff and control arms. Nismo don't make much for zeds adn don't even know that some GTR bits fit zeds as not listed in their catalogue. R32 GTR Cusco upper rear adjustable control arms. A bit heavy though soon to go chromolly custom. Modified NISMO R200 R32 GTR diff centre with R32 GTS-4 crown and pinion 4.375 ratio. About 20 kilos lighter, much better ratio than the heavy zed 3.7 which is also a slushy viscous coupling. Tomei GTR solid lifters, valve springs, retainers and shims. converted from hydraulic lifters similar to RB20 and 25. Solid lifters seat better at higher rpm and accommodate custom cams. Turbo's are similar to N1 but are actually new 200SX S15 ball bearing. Soon to have N1 silicon crank and cam seals, yes VG and RB same here and N1 stand more punishment with heat I guess and are orange in colour. Did have R32 GTR water pump pulley with holes drilled to suit 300ZX 4 stud viscous fan. Being larger but same offset and belt size, this slowed the water pump down so it did not cavitate as much at high revs. I now use electric water pump and thermo fan. Motor going back in next week with R33 GTS-T lighter alloy power steering pump rather than heavy zed NA cast iron one I have been using. Yes thanks to Nissan bolts straight up other than high pressure hose so getting this moded to suit. Nismo R33 GTS-T gear box mount. New alloy light weight body rather than steel factory one, and is also stiffer for better throttle response and less energy loss. Nismo 555cc RB20 top feed injectors with custom fuel rail that sits above factory plenum instead of below the plenum. Instead of factory side feed. Also was able to use custom alloy high flow fuel rail, and open up engine for better cooling as it keeps the fuel rail out and away from hot engine block and heads. Plus as a bonus the injectors were incorrectly ordered by a customer a few years back and I thought may as well use them. R33 GTR accelerator peddle which has a bulge at bottom for heal toe. No GTS-T's don't have and YES GTR peddle also goes straight on and only about $15 from memory. I am sure this is not the end of it and it does seem to keep happening. Lots of other parts fit such as R32 or R33 GTR brakes but went 6 piston. Zed and R32 GTR have same gear box by they way. As in the middle bit with the gears that is. Lots of other bits I won't go into here. I have only listed what is better for zed. Not sure what Zed bits a GTR would want other than AFM and motor. OK who's first Skylines Rule etc etc.
  19. DezertEagle your Skyline is ready, we worked back to almost 10pm last night as we have so much on. It now has Series II motor which make more power than series I and also has 3 inch engine and dump pipe and a true high flow 3 inch 7.5 litre cat. It goes very well and I am sure you will be happy. Also to let everyone know we will have a competition with Trophies and prizes for Highest rwkw for two classes per motor type. Class 1 is stock turbo and any other mods, NOT high flow and class two any turbo and any mods. Three groups RB20, RB25 and RB26 if any RB30 well they go in with RB26. Nitrous is considered cheating. No problems for showing off though. We have a big white board in dyno room and will record all cars and tally and presentation at the end of the day.
  20. Yep Fatz it might go better if I got rid of the anchor.
  21. Yes we have a new batch arrived and in stock. We can do in carbon but not part of group buy.
  22. Wheels are Racing Hart CPO35R light weight forged,18 by 8.5 and 9.5 rear with 245 front and 305 rear but now have 250 front and 280 rear. I really need wider rims to use 305 slicks so might get a pair of same wheel but in a 10 or 10.5 inch wide, offset in a little more as there is more room there. Forgot to mention I now have custom alloy tank with 2 Bosche 044 pumps and a oil cooler used as a fuel coler on the return line which sits up under therear of the car. Duncan says BLA BLA lets see it go though. OK will be soon. PS More GTR parts going on teh Zed, as I ordered some N1 crank and cam seals from Nissan which are silicone I think, prob better for higher temp, and they don't cost much more. Yes thanks to Nissan they keep things universal rather than re tooling as skylines and Zeds have same crank and cam seals, spiggot bush and other items. Also has R33 GTS-T Nismo gear box mount come to think of it. But hey GTR's use Zed AFM's but I think this is about as far as it goes.
  23. Were they Platinum or Iridiums B Man and I was wondering how she would go after the tickle up.
  24. We actually bought this mould from QLD and no it is not our normal standard but not too bad. I did mention this though to meshmesh and glad it is all OK. We could do in carbon but might not be too good as tight bends and cost at least twice as much.
  25. Wasn't hard either and It feels great. Seriously though this forum is by far the biggest and the best and pleased to now be even more part of it. I am involved with Zed, Soarer, Silvia and FTO forums. I give much praise to the guys who run this beast. Keep up the great work. I promise to turn up to SAU group hugs in the future. I started with a zedTT way back in 96 then a few more then in 98 got one of the first R33 GTS-T's in Sydney back before they were known and not stollen either, then got another zed and made a track car out of it, but yes it is becoming more GTRish with parts everyday. Lots of GTR internal parts now mainly Tomei and thanks to Nissan, they fit. Yes Duncan the sticker will get out to the track soon bigger and better. Is yours out again yet?? Really looking forward to having some fun with your GTR and others. It might confuse the Zed forum guys who I don't have one of their stickers on by the way. I will though on my Fat Slot car ZEDGTR. PS It will be out at Drift Nationals 5th September and our track day 12th September both at Oran.
