Thanks anyway, but if it is just sitting there in back of pits nothing real exciting. I could go downstairs now and see it. I thought it may have been action shots from previous track days.

Yep Rus getting there, big job lots of challenges with the dry sump we bought from USA made for left hand drive car. DJRIFT send me link or pics would be good. Yes it will be ready for next year, under 1100kg, with more aero and carbon. Working on a mould to make dry carbon front bar, on the side, then front guards and rear quarters. Panspeed times will be a difficult challenge.

Fantastic event. Awesome cars, great trade displays, crazy aerobatics, it had it all. Giant impressive effort from you and your crew to get your motor rebuilt in such a short time and then do a great time. Big well done to Lofty and Mark Berry to do PB,s. International cars were so fast though. Wide, light and BIG aero. Next year will be massive, let's keep pumpin this thing.
-
Impressive commitment. I had my doubts but Russ made it happen and pulled it off. Minor miracle. Roy yes a relaxing weekend for the Slot Car. Still waiting for custom dry sump pump. We will be in the mix next year. The weather held off nicely and a massive weekend.

Uas Front Camber Arms
Boosted Zed replied to RAZOR32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
With stock position of inner ball joint and stock length lower control arm, this is about all you will get without cutting the female body, as in, the thinner end with the internal thread. We may need to produce three types of arms, as the other situation is many gtrs run wider front wheel track which is better for handling, and then may end up with too much neg camber. These arms are limited to how much they adjust, without cutting, not hard to cut them as long as you leave enough purchase lenght of thread though. -
Time Attack Setup For A Gtr
Boosted Zed replied to Full-Race Geoff's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Yes it is Duncan with options to test and adjust and see, but depends on budget and we worked on this zed by raising the rear it raises roll centre and improves squat angle in one. We will be raising rear inner steering pivot point next and plotting it, as in theory it should be better for toe change and toe in under acceleration. -
Time Attack Setup For A Gtr
Boosted Zed replied to Full-Race Geoff's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Hi Full Car Geoff, very courageous work, and looks good. I take it you are butting the cradle to the chassis now, to raise rear roll centre? Being a later model Nissan so you don't need to change rear lower control arm squat angle, as I see the forward control arm bracket is near the seam of cradle, unlike Z32 and R32, S13 and early S14, which have too much anti squat. Space front of diff snout down to get some diff pinion angle, so when you accelerate the diff wants to straighten and indirectly drives tyre into the ground? I see strengthening of upper cradle mount brackets, good idea and Nismo sell these that bolt in, although welded is better. Need to raise rear inner steering arm pivot pint to reduce toe change and have toe in under acceleration for better grip. Happy to talk over the phone or come around if local? Cancel that I see you are accross the big pond. Also see our site in motorsports section, to see what we have done to our zed. Our site might be down atm though. Zeds are very similar to GTR R32 and S14-15 other than MacPherson strut, although you changed this. You now need our pivoting top control arms. We are currently doing lots of mods to a ZTT setting up for the track see this thread. I am Unique Zed Zed Build -
Thanks zebra. BTW Noddy not so funny did you see Mythbusters and dimples with aero. Might throw some dents in THe SLot Car. No I don't need any help with this fatz. http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=...%26tbs%3Disch:1

Yep Noddy come down to the big smoke and play with the big boys at the biggest show on earth and make some look silly in your new shit box.

I was talking to Ian at Hi Octane this morning and he told me about some of the media, including some big guns from USA that are coming to cover this event. Not just one journo with a camera, but big entourage. I suspect the start of something really big. This is going to be massive.

GO fats just cut because you are to fat to fit in it. Luv my zed.

When we do carbon fibre tailgate with Perspex window and carbon front bar, it will be well under 1100kg. Then have plans for building a 3.8 litre VQ with VQ35 crank and Darton Sleave kit, which we have, and will be easy 500plus rwkw, maybe for next year. Also have plans for custom Chrome Molly front suspension, getting rid of the heavy king pin and upright, this should save many kilos off the front suspension, through in traction control and looking at Ikea Sequential shift kit with ignition kill and we might only be a mile away from the big guns rather than miles.

Some bling bits just arrived for The SLot Car. We discovered this billet alloy dry sump set up made in USA for our VQ30 twin turbo motor we are fitting. It is a girdle, sump, oil air separator, dry sump pump and oil filter bracket all in one. THe motor will be more reliable, help piston rings seal better, less drag for crank, both indirectly making more free power. so more power, less weight in front, as oil tank will go in left rear of the car. Also allows us to move the engine further back and lower, lowering the weight in the car, allows us to raise the steering rack to get rid of bump steer, rather than spacing the outer steering pivot point down. It also allows us to run a better front air dam in under tray, as has more clearance. The new motor should have us well under 1150kg and much better balance front to rear and left to right as mounting the oil tank left rear allowing us to remove 10kg of lead. Cosworth Plenum on way. 6Boost making exhaust manifolds and GCG supplying turbo's.

Nice fats but can you still get your arse in to drive it?
-
I stand corrected just to hire the track it is way more than the $12k which it was about 4 years ago when I was looking to hire it. I just spoke to Ian and I was shocked at the real cost of this huge event.
-
Exaclty you get what you pay for. Keep in mind this is Eastern Creek which for a business to hire is around $12k a day and this is only part of the cost for the whole show. What is expensive is running the whole show, I know it cost a LOT more than most think. Ian at Hi Octane has put his nuts on the line and if we don't get behind it, then it won't happen again. Then we go back to same old thing, open track days, close the gate when finished, no features.

RWD class.

BLACK IS BACK. This will be the toughest car you will drive on the day Bozman. At least it will be the fastest Zed there, as with this NSX and RX7 I think 3rd would be about best we can hope for. Might be like that Aussie speed skater on the final lap in the last winter Olympics. Superlap
-
That would be right from what I have heard. Just don't tell him too much Bozman.

fats BEST viewing area is up the top of Corporate Hill with the loan tree. The big hill on the left as you go in before the tunnel. It is high up and can see 80% of the track from there. Sit up there with Bear Baron, Paul Lewis and have a Skyline party, careful not to roll down the hill though.
-
They should otherwise the cardy wearing Zed community might take the space. LOL Especially as it is obviiously getting bigger, worth being part of.
-
I might need to get serious then. This will be MASSIVE. Especially with Baron turning up.
