  1. Ill be going... to the couch with a case of beer and pizza to watch it at home
  2. I was looking at buying an R34 with these turbos fitted, and when out on a test drive in it the thing hauled absolute ass. It was making a little over 300kw at all four wheels on very low boost, but the amount of torque it had was phenomenal. It felt a lot quicker with more low and mid range punch than my R32 which has 2530's and making ~340kw at the time. As for the power differences, I cant really explain. Maybe more of them are using the 10cm2 versions as opposed to the 8's.
  3. Sards are a straight fit in the RB26, not sure about others. Just get some new O-rings ($10) and lube them up as they are a tight fit
  4. According to someone on the GTROC-UK forums (the same someone that did HPI's HKS Evo Tsukaba car article, who was physically in the same room as the R33) the HKS R33 is sitting pretty after being freshly rebuilt, so I dare say once word trickles round it will be back out soon.
  5. I couldnt agree more. And what compounds this is that, no-one starts topics saying "hey, my gtr is running great" (why would you?), its always "my gtr blew up - help!" because these forums are here to help people with problems. Take your time searching for the right vehicle and pay a premium for a good quality car and you wont be disappointed. I was in a similar situation 3 years ago and took the GTR. In my mind it is far more enjoyable than the GTT would ever be (not saying the GTT is a bad car, it just doesnt float my boat) in stock and modified forms.
  6. Check out Croydon for injectors as well. They stock all the Denso injectors (Sard, Nismo, TRD etc... theyre all made by Denso) in a variety of sizes. They are fractionally more expensive than greenline/nengun but for the extra $100 or so you pay they will be here overnight. And as a rule of thumb, 1cc of injector flow equates to 1hp at the crank (assuming you havent jacked up the fuel pressure).
  7. Did it start as soon as you put the new fuel pump in? Check the compression on it. Having seen some GTR's with busted rings and low compression, they get really hard to start and you need to stab at the throttle to get it going. Otherwise might be over/under-fuelling on startup. You can also check fuel pressure while cranking to see if its right.
  8. I see your Evatt and raise you a Charnwood
  9. They quite often follow you around to see how many more laws you break. For the simple fact you said that, no offence, indicates you are a complete and utter tool. If you are so concerned about accidents and killing people you shouldnt have been speeding in the first place. The primary responsbility is on YOU.
  10. The OS Giken OS88 box is cheaper than a Hollinger. Theyre both well over $20,000 though by the time they are installed in the car. As others said, deal with CRD. They have experience with both the OS and Hollinger boxes in a range of GTR's.
  11. The first one was for speeding in Cabramatta, the second one was for speeding in Bass Hill. They are two seperate tickets for two seperate offences, and is perfectly legal. I dont think you have much of a chance getting out of these ones.
  12. That is the proper way to tune a GTR on a 2WD dyno. As long as the fuse is disconnected and the front propshaft has been removed, you should be fine.
  13. My vote is you have started to spin a bearing... could be wrong through
  14. EDIT: Just read that theres is another noise you are concerned about, not just the normal bearings slowing down noise. What does the noise sound like? Its hard for us to help you if we have no other information aside from "it makes noise".
  15. To me it looks like a poor tune. The AFR's are all over the place from the word go. As someone mentioned above, the tuner should have put a fuel pressure gauge on the lines to see what the pressure was doing. This would narrow it down to wether its a fuel supply problem or tuning problems. I ran well in excess of 300kw with 700cc injectors, single 044 pump and the stock fuel rail and pressure regulator. The mods you have can definately support it... I would seriously consider taking the car elsewhere.
  16. Look at all the usual bodykit places and get one built in fibreglass.
  17. Just curious on what aftermarket boxes people have had experience with? At the moment my availible options seem to be the PPG 1-4th dog set or a Trust/HKS 6 speed H-pattern box. I was looking at the OS Giken OS88 box, but cant afford it unfortunately. The car will be running between 500-550kw at the wheels. Any suggestions/advice really appreciated.
  18. Radiator replacements take time
  19. Ill vouch for Andrew too. He helped me out quite a lot and I actually said "yes" to a house he was going to sell me... until people further up in the pecking order (builder) put that idea to rest *shakes fist angrily* Ended up buying a house not from Andrew, but the advice he gave before the purchase was invaluable. Definately a two thumbs up
  20. Count me in... should have the car back in some form by then... hopefully
  21. RIP Brock
  22. I hate you
  23. Croydon Racing Developments... and I even sent my car interstate to go there as I dont even live in NSW
  24. It was built once and built right with a perfect match of bits and pieces. It was the cover car a few HPI issues ago (but was "only" making 500kw then) and is in the current HPI sporting a JUN subframe Its not a dyno queen either, the car in mention can be often seen driving around and was the owners daily driver to work and back for quite a long period of time.
