  1. Sounds like Bob's car. Talk to Ed, I think he might have the box there. Meanwhile, very nice power you made Julian... you'd have to be happy with that
  2. N1 oil pump is fine for daily driven cars and yes I would consider it a worthy upgrade. Still a point of confusion as to the difference over the normal oil pump, some say it just has a higher relief spring pressure and someone else has actually had two apart side by side and said there is noticeable internal difference in them. Either way theyre not much more than a standard pump and push a bit more oil pressure than your standard one, so definately not a bad thing.
  3. Those prices are about right, I dont think youre going to find them much cheaper. They do bolt straight on however, the N1 water pump isnt reccomended for daily driven cars as the flow less at low rpm than the standard one to avoid cavitation at consistent high-rpm. So if youre stuck in a traffic jam, the N1 will be pumping less water than the standard RB26 one.
  4. Will be up in Sydney that weekend for Putty Road so im out
  5. From what I was told by two reputable workshops, the squish zone is removed from high power RB26's mainly for 'safety' reasons. With the squish zones in place carbon can build up under them and randomly ignite causing detonation. This is namely mentioned with the high price stroker kits (read, JUN) designed to run very high power levels.
  6. The shuddering indicates the clutch is fine its just being driven wrong. Dont ride it so much and let it out quicker otherwise it will do as you have said (and stuff the clutch fairly quickly). Some twin plates are nice to drive, others (like the HKS one in my car) can be down right bastards. Just give it some more practice and let it out quicker rather than hold onto it at grabbing point which is whats happening.
  7. Neither can I... havent driven the damn thing since October last year Meanwhile the guy that bought my 2530's is making just over 350rwkw on his black 33 GTR... shweet
  8. Too bad if its pissing down with rain I was going to come, and after hyping myself up for the last few weeks because I was meant to get the car back today... its still not running So im out, will be out and about cruising next Friday though running in the new engine
  9. The GTST ones might be the same, but as per the OP's question, the GTR ones are definately different. They should bolt up to each other, but the R32 ones are pretty poorly designed and pose a big restriction.
  10. It forms when dew on the road turns to a thin layer of ice. It sux hardcore and as said, once you are on it you have no chance of controlling the car, it just slides wherever it wants until it hits something and comes to a stop, or you come off the ice. Its also next to impossible to see as its a very thin layer, often following the contours of the rocks in the road, which makes it hard to spot because its not flat and slick/reflective. I was driving to Jindabyne a few years back and a birgde past Cooma airport was completely covered in black ice. We were doing about 50km/h (in a rated 100km/h zone) and as soon as you got on the bridge it was game over, no control what so ever, you jusrt hoped you could slide to the other side without hitting anything. Luckily I didnt as I was in the GTR, still a shit scary experience though. Sux to hear about the car man
  11. Yes there is. The R32 dump pipes are absolute crap and if youre chasing decent power, should be one of the first things to change. The R33 ones are better, but aftermarket ones (the Trust ones are gorgeous) are still the best.
  12. I should have my car back this Friday and it will have a HKS CDI installed as well. Will see if the miss still occurs.
  13. Most cars have a black or silver block since you basically never see it unless your peeking down into the engine bay. You are talking about the cam covers not the block. Just for some clarification
  14. www.gcg.com.au
  15. Haha yeah ill grab that reg off you this week or weekend, will need it back pretty soon Ive just been lazy haha
  16. Ignore me, I read it wrong. What he said above is right.
  17. Rick out at the Mobil servo in Kingston can do it. Im not sure of his contact number though, but im sure Greg at Pro Engines can provide it.
  18. Good stuff Greg. Its good to finally see a dedicated performance engine builder here, and your engines are well and truely up there with the best in Australia (god knows I was suprised to see how good condition mine was in when we pulled it down after the flogging ive given it haha). Sponsor me a decent gearbox and ill plaster my car with Pro Engines stickers and take it racing to build your reputation across Australia (and no, im not just trying to mooch a free gearbox ahem ))
  19. Anyone got a set of P-Plates I can borrow too?
  20. For me it only ever happens when cruising on light throttle. Its not a tuning problem as it sits around the same part of the map, and we have been through it and its all ok (if it was bad mapping, it would constantly complain sitting around those cells). I have been told by a number of reputable tuners across Australia its simply a "bug". Have seen it happen in many R32 GTR's tuned at many different places, with completely different running gear.
  21. Havent driven my car since October last year but it was still doing the same thing then (cruising along, it would just briefly miss). We watched the PFC tracer and looked at the cells it was running across when it happened and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and we couldnt come up with an explanation for it. However, a couple of GTR's that have had PFC's fitted since have also started doing the same thing (and they have been tuned by a few different places). I think its just a bug you live with. If its getting worse it may indicate a different problem starting to rear its head.
  22. R33 GTSt callipers are the same as R32 GTR callipers. R32 GTSt are a bit smaller. Saying that though, any should fit (as long as you have the right sized disc to go along with it)
  23. Ill be in attendance, just went past autobarn today to grab some shopping list stickers to put on the side of the mighty Rav4 so I can go street racing with teh crowd afterwards~!
  24. You bought a car where the original Japanese owner wasnt a tight ass and paid for the "premium" sound
