  1. They do exists for RB26's, I remember a guy on SDU USA forums pulling off a sump on a gtr and finding a genuine Nismo swiging pickup. From memory I think he threw it in the bin and went for baffled sump.
  2. As written in the Skylines buyers guide on these forums, 99% of them have been wound back. When buying one dont judge it on km's but on overall condition. Sounds like you picked up a pretty good car anyway.
  3. Talk to Greg, he always stands by what he builds and would be able to help you out.
  4. If cars back, which it is on track for this week ill be in.
  5. Considering the evo costs a fair whack more and its direct competitor is the WRX STi not the WRX its a bit of apples and oranges isnt it? Its like comparing a GTR to a non turbo Supra.
  6. Try upgrading your wastegate actuators. I believe the stock ones open at around 7psi of boost pressure, so your boost controller solenoid will be working overtime trying to hold stable boost. Boost controllers were never designed to vary the levels so much, and you should try and run an actuator opening pressure as close to the target boost you want as possible. I had a similar problem running stock actuators and running 22psi with an AVC-R. Upgraded to HKS actuators with an opening pressure of 18psi and it worked brilliantly.
  7. It made some really bad noises which was every tooth of the 3rd gear cog floating around in the gearbox hitting other bits of metal and a pressure plate snapped into 3 pieces Nothing wrong with the engine though, was in remarkably good condition for its age.
  8. I was referring to the rebuild I had almost 3 years ago not long after I bought the car.
  9. Talked to a couple of places and was advised the wiring harness was next to impossible to get at the moment as HKS have delayed production. Might give Nengun an email and see if they have any in stock.
  10. Pfft mine didnt need a rebuild, was just a shop that shall remained unnamed that decided it was stuffed and pulled it apart. So has anyone seen those new Evos?
  11. Thats a pretty good price for the installation and tuning of all the parts, and you will be very happy with the tune results.
  12. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can help me out with the wiring for a HKS CDI. From what I can gather you splice the negative wires coming from the coil packs into the yellow wires on the CDI box but what do you do with the positives? There is only a single wire on the CDI for positive, yet theres 6 coils? Any info would be appreciated
  13. Its in Queanbeyan on Lanyon Drive (the road that runs from Monaro Highway into Queanbeyan past Jerrabomberra). Its at the Caltex service station.
  14. With regards to cam gear settings, we found some really wierd settings worked best with my GTR... there was a massive amount of retard on one of them, something like -7 degrees. Get your tuner to play around with them and find where they sit the best.
  15. Integra Automotive in Queanbeyan. They have the best PFC tuner this side of Sydney working there (Ed).
  16. marc2 actually owns a tyre shop out in Belconnen and has never led anyone astray so I would tend to take his word over that coming from Quickfit (sorry Kryostaisis this isnt a dig against you (its great that youre offering a service to sau), ive just been f**ked over by quickfit in the past... and if a forum owner actually owns a business then my "loyalty" would lie with buying from and supporting him as he has more incentive to look after forum members/users).
  17. Spotted my car with the new radiator almost installed... its taken a while, but as everyone knows changing radiators is a big big job. Also decided to put a new shiny bling bit on the front of it... Decided I would let one secret out...
  18. The tuning for idle could possibly be well off (leaning out making the car sound lumpy) and from memory when we had my poncams dialled in at 0/0 the car had a bit of a lump anyway (appeared to be hunting around a few hundred rpm).
  19. Stupid question (and sorry to hijack ) but where does one get wrap and flameproof paint from to paint over it (ala Beer Baron styles). Just got my dump pipe made and want to try and contain the heat somewhat. Is it something that mopst places sell like Autobarn?
  20. Tried doing insurance quote and it comes back with this... "VIGIL does NOT insure Nissan gtr" doh!
  21. Sounds like the norm for these companies. Youre going to have to prove it failed due to general fatigue/wear and tear. If it failed due to detonation etc youre not going to see a cent.
  22. You can bring whatever car you want, make sure you PM me by lunch time though.
  23. Well a couple of people mentioned they wanted a dyno day so heres your chance (sort of). Syndicate is running a dyno day Saturday week (6th May) at Autotech in Fyshwick. Cost is $50 per person, and includes awards and what not for winners and second placers and stuff. There are a few spots availible, deal is first 3 people who post in here that will definately go get it. You will then need to PM me your phone number. Hopefully my car may be making its return debut there, and would be good to see a couple of other skylines represent. Its a 2WD dyno but R32 GTR guys can run by just removing a fuse, and R33/R34 GTR guys can run by removing the front propshaft (5 minute job).
  24. Thats pretty poor information. Wait until you need to get a security cleared job where this conviction will cause you extra hassles (probably wont have any real negative effect, but will prolong the process). Wait until you want to visit America and your visa application is delayed because you have a criminal conviction and they also want to interrogate you about it first. ANY conviction can and will cause you problems later in life, you just cant see them yet. But congratulations on the leniant sentance.
  25. I used the stock GTR pump lifting to a 2L surge tank and a Bosch 044 from the surge tank feeding the fuel rail. Works wonders and has supported well over 300kw. I got the large kit from GCG, pretty good value imho. Just replacing the in tank pump with a Bosch 040 now and leaving the single 044 from the surge tank, should support well over 450kw from what I have been told.
