  1. Evo f**ked me over too... not quite $4000, but held my car ransom (looooong story as to why it ended up at evo) and went back on everything they said. The sad part is, Ben also tuned my car when he was with Evo (back in mid 2003)... I cant really say anything except I was utterly disgusted with the end result. HOWEVER I have talked to friends of Bens who told me while he was with Evo, they pushed him to just get the car in, make a pretty power figure and get the car out... dont actually spend any real time on it. Since he does his own thing now, he takes alot more time with the cars setting them up properly and I have not heard a bad thing since. Either way with regards to tuning my car wont go to anyone but Ed... How can I argue with someone that has the most power fc and motec experience in Canberra, has access to a dyno dynamics certified shootout dyno, has both the genuine Apexi software and the Datalogit software, and hasnt made a car go bang yet? Just my $0.02...
  2. Shouldnt be a problem if the rod bolts are replaced with something decent and your not revving the crap out of it. The achillies heel of the conrods isnt the rod itself but the bolts. Put a set of ARP bolts in, and you will be pretty hard pressed to bend them.
  3. Lets take it out and do some 8250rpm (aka rev limit) clutch dumps (jokes in case the new buyer reads this).
  4. Friend had an X-Force titanium on his S15. Not bad for the money, the welds were a bit shit through and after a couple of times of scraping the ground ripped apart. You get what you pay for I guess though, so overall it was pretty good
  5. Response will be pretty much similar to the Garrett version (if not identical)... theres a few threads in forced induction, I think someone made 600 odd hp at the rears and on full boost before 5000rpm. I know someone who grabbed a Garrett one with the .61 rear housing on a standard capacity RB26. On 25ish psi it made 370kw at the rear wheels and is on full boost before 4000rpm, but it runs out of puff top end (possibly too small turbo). Seems the .81 housing is the best all rounder, providing power to redline and fairly responsive.
  6. A big congratulations to Daniel (Fitzpatrick Speed Works on these forums) and his brother Aaron for taking out the Grand Champion award with their Datto 510... good work guys, car looked sweet
  7. Prepare yourself for the next wave of Altezzas~!
  8. Chop the springs in the coilovers, then you will be fully HeKTiK and get that restekpah you deserv~!
  9. Most of the cars coming for the nats are already here... there was massive police presence on the border yesterday, nothing there this morning. Id say youre fine coming into Canberra (going out on Sunday night there will be RTA as well though).
  10. Thats why I asked if you were sure... I know in ACT it does apply retrospectively (a cheap trick used to be if you were on your P's, do your P-Off course which gave you an extra 4 points... a few people did this after the trick had been around for a few years, and they lost their license because at the time of the offence they only had 1 point left). Seems to vary between states, but I do know 100% thats the way it works in ACT
  11. Sure this still works? I know in ACT they have closed such loop holes and the penalty (after you have finished stalling) applies retrospectively to the points you had at the time of the offence (e.g. if you had 1 point left on your P's, its been 2 years, your now on 9 points full license, you will still lose it as you only had 1 point at the time of offence). Also if you plead/are found guilty when appealing offences, the judge has the option to increase the penalty at his discretion (which has been happening alot lately). Not really worth it... take the 12 months/1 point and dont do anything stupid... if you do go the 3 month option and you get caught driving said GTR, you will be fined/charged for driving on a suspended license (and you can kiss driving for another 6+ months goodbye).
  12. Might head out tonight in the Rav4 of sikness for a look, it usually starts getting busy on the Wed night.
  13. I agree with Terminal, you are leaving it way to late to get into Braddon, it will either be packed full or entries shut by police already (plus being a primarily v8 oriented show, and from past experience, will get abused cruising through in a parade of skylines). Check out the other thread Jayce started... come along early, get a good park and have some food.
  14. The turbo off the VG30 in the Nissan leopord (single turbo) is a common upgrade for RB's... I doubt its off the 300ZX
  15. Oh yeah, who got organisational skills in this biatch~!
  16. Bearings starting to spin?
  17. Haha crap I cant even remember who I rang... finished work at 11PM, got to mates house at 11:30PM, severely drunk by 11:59PM, going home after vomiting and passing out in bed by 2AM... Think im going to lay off the alcohol for a while
  18. On the FAST check it shows the colour was 326 when it left te factory... 326 is white so its more than likely been resprayed gunmetal
  19. Pro Engines will be able to put something together for you, they are down in Queanbeyan (5 minutes out of Canberra). Its not going to be cheap though... I know someone who recently had a GTR built which is capable of handling this amount of power (engine, driveline etc) and you could probably own 1/3 of a decent house for the money it cost. If you got the cash, good on ya, keep us updated with how it goes
  20. Saw said blue R32 GTR in Civic earlier (about 2ish I think)... looked good and sounded nice, yellow NSW plates.
  21. I vote for ugly!
  22. Is it neoprene on the skylines, or something else? I have never bothered to check
  23. Last time I checked, Nissan Australia imported all their cars prebuilt from Japan, they werent made here in Australia
  24. That is correct, Nissan have flatly said do not use ethanol in our engines. supadan: If you have a stock ECU it should be ok, if you have an aftermarket ecu it will need a retune as the ethanol content = more oxygen = car will lean out.
  25. Have spoken to two places who have both said, if you want to run ethanol for the forseeable future, ditch the factory rubber lines. I think the plan was to use brand new high quality EFI hose under the car, and Earls braided hose and fittings everywhere else
