  1. Was a gunmetal R32 and he sold it and now owns RH9
  2. Haha if I see Nick on Friday night I should see if he wants a run since this is the only time I will ever have a chance
  3. Anyone who claims to know anything about GTR tuning should know what the engine/cam cover colour says about the car
  4. Holy mother of crap its running?!? :) :D :D About time, congratulations
  5. Well its just over two months now until the jolly fat man will be taking reign over the TV channels and after the success last year, I figure it would be a great idea to have one again this year. So who is interested in a SAU Xmas Cruise? Thought id post it up stupidly early so everyone has plenty of notice, but initial details I was thinking were along the lines of... DATE: 10th Deceber 2005 (Saturday) WHEN: 12:00PM (Midday) WHERE: Meet at the National Museum of Canberra car park (as we do on Friday nights) GOING TO: Cruise down to the cotter for a BBQ and some drinks or what ever floats your boat. As per last year, was also thinking after the cruise we could all head to our adopted home of the Jerra Pub to continue our Xmas festivities and get pleasantly drunk throughout the evening and night. Jerra has reasonably priced dinner and drinks, and has always been a good venue. So whos up for it? And YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN FOOD IF YOU WANT TO EAT!!!!! We have encountered this problem many times in the past, no bringy esky and food, no eaty eaty.
  6. Is it just a single miss every so often that makes the car jump a bit or does it constantly miss for a few hundred rpm through the rev range? If its just a single miss, you will be happy to know my car does it A friends car was fine as well, he put a power fc in and it also does the same thing now. As for what it is, no idea. I have had the car tuned by multiple places and no-one can get rid of it. Two of the places have also said its a problem in the specific revision software power fc I have and its not fixable. If you find a solution, let us know
  7. Yep im still availible
  8. The company I used to work for designed the website, and it was put up to test the system out and make sure it worked ok and I just never removed it
  9. Yeah ill be out, might be a little bit late though
  10. Mine does this after longggg drives as its just the exhaust getting extremely hot and burning every single bit of fuel going through the exhaust whereas it would normally just spew it out as black smoke. Just sounds like the air intake temperatures are very high. I have noticed on my Power FC if the inlet temp is above 50 degrees (which happens quite easily after youve hammered your car, turned it off and it just heat soaks through the engine bay) it doesnt want to start and idles like crap until you drive for a bit to bring the temperature back down.
  11. What sort of power are you chasing? If its 300+kw at the wheels, id reccomend stripping the motor down and rebuilding it, conrods, pistons, bearings etc. Then along with the high mount youre going to need new exhaust manifold, new exhaust, new intake piping, new intercooler, oil cooler, fuel pump, fuel injectors, ecu etc. Its an expensive exercise and if you do it on the cheap, its not going to work terribly well.
  12. Spotted a stock series II R33 leaving calwell shops yesterday afternoon, and followed a silver R33 GTR (HR033) on Hindmarsh drive into queanbeyan
  13. ib6ub9: just chuck the roll cage back in and it looks like a hardcore racer, it will fit in perfectly Does anyone want to do the breakfast thing? Or say just meet up at 7:30 at mcdonalds belconnen to get to the park by 8 so we get a good spot?
  14. Cool, updated first post with the two andrews and mick
  15. Forgot to mention im making over 300kw at the wheels (2530's). The Nismo bearings according to two engine builders I spoke to are tri-layer bearings produced by NK (Im pretty sure the company name is NK, cant remember 100% off the top of my head though).
  16. As Beer Baron said id be looking at the fuel pump, they hate sucking dry air and usually stuff up pretty quickly. And yes if its the fuel pump failing it will cause the car to die on the spot as fuel flow to the rail will suddenly stop. Take it to a mechanics and get the fuel rail pressure tested. If the pressure drops just before the car dies, you need a new fuel pump.
  17. Another vote for King here... have used NK (I think it was NK...) bearings before who make them for Nismo... tri-layer style bearing. After 10,000kms with no detonation one was pretty worse for wear and on its way to picking up/spinning. Put King's in and have done another 20,000kms and no problems what so ever.
  18. I think a thread was posted somewhere about this earlier, but im too lazy to go and find it B) Anyways, what is it you ask? Heres a run down.... So its basically a mini car show in Canberra that runs for just one day. Entry is free, and you can come and go as you please. Anyone interested in going and representing for Nissans finest? If so ill start a list, maybe we can get 10 - 15 cars to come along? 1. Amaru 2. SkyGTRline 3. Terminal Stagea 4. mickGTR 5. Frink 6. Terminal R33 7. race_snooze 8. 19. The car in questions intake temperature rose dramatically (bigish single turbo which was only just starting to get into its efficiency range, so that wasnt the problem) above 15psi, it just didnt seem to have the capability to scrub the heat from the air passing through. Wether this was poor internals on the runners, or a poor front end surface meaning the air didnt pass through it very well not sure. Car is an R32 GTR which ended up making 390kw on ~23psi boost with a HKS Type R cooler and kept inlet temps nice and cool.
  20. Of course a 100mm cooler is going to cool better than a standard GTR item, which is only 75mm from memory? If you want it for just bling bling and arnt pushing much power, go the Hybrid. I have heard stories of they are useless over 15psi or so though, but didnt see the car first hand. And as for the $2000 jap name coolers, you get lots of r&d time to provide the best possible cooler for the application. Its like people who compare a Garrett 25/30 to a HKS GT2530 and assume they are the same turbo because Garrett make HKS turbos...
  21. pfft, youre just jealous Never seen someone for doing it, but on that note in an 80km/h or above area, its illegal to be in the right hand lane unless you are overtaking... and Canberrans cant seem to grasp this idea. If I was a cop I know id start picking on the people who dont get their ass back in the left hand lane.
  22. Its like the N1 GTR, its the cut down "homologated" version the rally cars are/were based on. Power windows, radio, air conditioning (I believe the RS does have 'climate control' though) are all pretty much useless in a car that is sold with the intentions of being the basis of a rally car. That said though, people do by the RS because its cheaper, and/or they dont mind using 10 seconds of muscle to wind down the window. That said, I have a test drive of the Evo IX on Friday afternoon... hoping I dont turn it into something resembling that
  23. From what I thought was the rules and what I was told, you cannot cross any unbroken lines. e.g if the road looked like this --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ========================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then no youre not technically meant to overtake a car in the left lane in the right hand (as they are probably turning different directions not much further down the road anyway). If the road looked like this... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ========================================== - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then yes you can. (------ = unbroken line / - - - - = broken line) How l33t are my ascii drawing skillz~!?
  24. In wierd old Canberra theres a few places that have just a single unbroken line. Anyways after a chat with a friendly police officer, you cannot cross any unbroken line. If its broken, abuse that right hand lane all you want!
  25. Haha and I was driving like a complete tool beater too
