1992 GTR V-Spec Brembos Power FC AVC-R Nismo exhaust Apexi air filters 72000kms Bought it back in 2003 and guy was selling for $34,000. Ended up getting it a fair bit cheaper after lots of bragaining

Definately starting to sound like a chipped ECU. Thats what the japs do, advance ignition timing like crazy and make the car run overly rich so it doesnt detonate. Keep in mind though, they use 100RON fuel, we use 98RON. No 180 speed cut definately means speed wire has been cut or the ECU has been modified.

$8,200 for a 5 spd dog box and $9,000 for a 6 spd dog box with selector forks. http://www.ppgearbox.com.au

I wouldnt be too confident on that. Most jap 'fiddled' ecu's are fine for stock boost levels on our shitty fuel, but they crank massive amounts of ignition timing into them for standard boost (which in turn, makes them more responsive and make lots of power). As soon as you wind the boost up, added with the way-to-advanced ignition timing, you'll end up with a dead engine. Or at least thats how it works with alot of aftermarket GTR computers. Before winding boost up id get it on a dyno to have AFR's and ignition timing checked, and make sure the tuner has det ears on to hear if theres any unwanted gremlins in the engine (aka detonation). I was pretty sure RB25 standard rev limit was 6900rpm? I know RB26 is 8250rpm and the 25 is a good 1000rpm lower than that. Id definately be saying aftermarket computer, but it doesnt make sense with the rest of your car being stock standard... wire #53 is the speed cut wire. Pull the kick panel off, unplug the loom and take the computer out. I wouldnt be suprised to see a pretty Mines sticker or similar on the back of it.

If it were my car, id splash out the money for the OSG sequential (not the gearset)

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=52879 Have a read of that thread, especially proengines reply on page two. I had exactly the same problem, proengines described why it happened and solutions to fix it. -
Good point, someones either cut the wire or aftermarket/chipped ecu. Pull the passanger footwell kickpanel off and see if theres a pretty sticker on it.

Ahaha can always rely on you for a quality reply No offence taken, just differing opinions I guess... everyone has equal right to be there, wether they smoke or not, and I certainly agree its your right to ask people not to smoke around you. But, what I dont get is people complaining of smokey environments when they know good and well that people do smoke there. *shrugs* just voicing my opinion on it all. Anyways, smokings been moved out of the main rooms of pubs, and I agree with it majoritly. I have no problems getting up and moving for 5 mins to have a smoke, especially when it ensures others there have equally as good time as myself. I wont be there tonight, will be tomorrow for the origin though

Im pretty sure I read on news.com.au it came into effect on either 1st July or Monday... cant remember which

Ok well since that pic was probably a bit 'inappripriate' ive made a joint decision with me and myself to take it down. But, what gets me is you know its an environment where people smoke, if you dont like it, dont place yourself in the above mentioned environment. Its like if I dont want to be surrounded by meatheads yelling football crap, I dont go and watch the football. Im not saying you dont have a right to be there or be concerned about your health, but is a smoking environment... what do you expect?

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=67590 I know Greg (proengines) used ARP bolts in my engine (standard rods shot peened) and its been making 300+kw for almost 2 years now and done 20,000kms without a problem

The OSG sequential is meant to be the strongest of the bunch rated at 1500hp, but its a relatively "new" product so theres not many good/bad stories about it yet. The hollinger is a nice box, but a few rumors I hear of having a very low service life and they can and do break on high hp cars. Hollinger also do not make a H pattern box anymore, only sequential. A friend of mine is running an OSG sequential and it was chosen over all the above mentioned boxes, as it "looked" the strongest and was rated for the highest hp out of all of them (and the workshop that built the car have seen some Hollinger failures and reccomended the OSG... very big workship in Sydney btw ). The car is very fresh, ill see if he can post in here once he gets some good use out of it. Why dont you tell us what hp you are running, then im sure some people can make some better suggestions. Youve already said the Hollinger is out of your price bracket (20,000 plus), and buy the time you grab a brand new Trust H pattern with the uprated input shafts and postage etc, youre going to be coming damn close to the price of the OSG box from Otomoto. If youre running 650hp and under, id suggest talk to PPG (Pfitzner) and get one of their dog sets and uprated shafts.

Well you should love the new anti smoking laws that came into place on Monday. Smoking is now banned in all NSW pubs except for a single designated and confined room, no larger than half the size of the total premises. So there will be no more smoking in the main part of Jerra pub anymore, I dare say they will confine all the smokers into the pokies room or outside. So any chance of seeing you back out there?

Im yet to see a white R32 GTR that doesnt have a black engine bay (with the exception of those that have been resprayed). And yes these cars have white colour code listed on the build plate.
-
All 32 GTR's have black engine bays... if the engine bay is body colour, it means the car has been resprayed.

Standard water pump, R33/34 N1 oil pump + JUN crank collar, sump baffle's (ive got Tomei sump baffles for sale, PM me for price), full gasket kit... if the budget stretches, id also chuck a set of forged pistons in while the engines out and get the whole thing balanced... I know id be spewing if I put it back in the car with stock pistons, they went bang and I had to pull it out again.

Correct, however I can not find any documents anywhere saying a police officer is an authorised officer under this legislation. Find me a document that says so, and ill gladly believe you Not confused at all. The first link falls under road traffic act, and states an authorised officer can search your car. As far as I can tell, an authorised officer is an inspector from the Roads and Traffic Authority. The second link is police powers and their limitations under the law. It clearly states that police officers need to have reasonable grounds to believe you have been involved with an indictable offence or could pose a risk to public safety. Im not following you saying they just need reasonable grounds. Reasonable grounds for what? I have reasonable grounds to believe your dog is ugly so I can search your car can I (assuming im a police officer)? It specifically states... It clearly says, that the police officer has to suspect on reasonable grounds that the vehicle was involved in an indictable offence. P.S: I know in ACT the legislation is quite similar, and police cannot search your car for defecting. I dont live in NSW, so it doesnt really concern me as to the rules of NSW. I do not know wether a police officer is a "authorised officer" or not. From what I can find/see, the only "authorised officers" are RTA inspectors.
