Oh noes~! my spark plugs~! We've had a lambda meter up the exhaust and it runs an air/fuel ratio of between 11.5 to 11.7:1 acorss the whole rev range its on boost, which is about as high as you want to take it when youre running 15psi+ (although some shops take it to 12:1). The reason it pisses out so much smoke is because its a *very* free flowing exhaust.

Black smoke is fuel, its all good Oil burns/blows as blue/white smoke.

Nothing wrong with the engine, its just running a tad rich and has high flow cat, so not much restriction in the exhaust

Not sure what the letters actually stand for, but the GT-A is an automatic Evo 7. If someone says theyre an evo nut, and they dont know what a GT-A is, they should be slapped

Whatd you end up getting? RS-V04's from Tempe?

They dont have to be the same size, just rolling diameter... if you have wider profile a higher profile sidewall could well work... too much pain in the ass calculating though. Jayce, if $1000 is within your budget, check out the Falken RS-V04. Theyre meant to be fairly good, and alot of jap track cars run them. If you order tomorrow before 2pm-ish from Tempe, they can be here Friday and you can probably get Ed to fit and balance them tomorrow afternoon, or on the weekend some time. Jayce, Apparantly Tempe have Falken RS-V04 semi slicks in stock in various sizes, 255/40/17's being ~$240 a tyre. This is only hearsay, give them a call and find out, could have them shipped overnight, and fitted tomorrow if you were real keen

Problem being they arnt allowed to open any time of the year besides the week before queens birthday anymore (as of last year), which makes it kinda hard to go a few weeks before the season

Theyre crap... even crap would say theyre crap... stay away if you can, easily the worst tyre I have ever used.
