They do, but as per 99.9% of other workshops in Australia, they dont work on JDM models. Most workshops buy ones that can diagnose locally manufactured cars (e.g. Commodores and Falcons), and theyre tailored to cars which were sold in Australia... the skyline is a JDM import I do know that Ed was looking at a new one that I think could do JDM cars, otherwise swing past Nissan and ask them to plug in the Consult and take the results to Ed

Well, as per our bullshit laws now, fireworks shops opened today and are allowed to trade till sunday... if anyone has any good hookups for some not straight off the shelf stuff (read: mortar kits), let me know (through PM)... willing to pay premium prices here :jump:

WTF...R32 GTR Speed limited..!..?
Amaru replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
All JDM cars of that era have 180km/h speed limits, even the R33 and R34 have them. Two options; Do the dodgy and cut the speed limit sensor wire thing (#53 from memory, I could be wrong though...) Get an aftermarket/chipped ECU. -
How can you tell if your GTR is a V-Spec?
Amaru replied to Topaz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
All R32 GTR's have a finned rear diff cover. That check is only valid for R33's. -
lots of heat coming from gearbox
Amaru replied to Greg Barwick's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Its the gearbox + transfer case sitting straight under there. Every GTR I have been in does the same, but not GTST's, so im assuming most of the heat is coming from the transfer case (I know I said GTR, but GTS4 has the same style setup). -
Terminal: Picked them up second hand off a forum member (Blitz to be precise) last weekend... under $3000 and they are as new, with only one tiny tiny tiny mark on one of the wheels. Came with brand new rubber too NJR 34GTT: You can land a second hand set for around $2500 ish with no/shit tyres, so theyre not tooo bad. For me it was a choice of these or Volk GT-C's, but I couldnt justify the $6000 for the Volks. Also the R34 rims are a forged single piece wheel, so they weigh sweet fu(k all (the lightest 18" wheel I have ever picked up). leech: The crappy camera pictures do them no justice Problem with those auction wheels is he cant guarantee $4000 landed, its an auction so they go for whatever they go for. Also, 19" is too bling bling for me, and would be useless for track, tyres cost a fortune etc. They are mucho nice though

I can vouch for s13drifters mums car... only seen it once, and that was going on 3 years ago now but it was immaculate... definately the cleanest r33 gtst I have seen. Take a few for drives if you can (go to dealerships, dont just joyride private sellers cars) and get a feel for the car. Other than that, if you got some transport at the moment, come out to the National Museum at around 9 - 9:30ish on a Friday night, thats where alot of us meet up. You can check out rides, talk to owners, and maybe someone will be nice enough to take you for a drive. Oh, and welcome

Yep, as been said its just overfuelling slightly on gearchanges... do you have an atmospheric blow off valve or the stock one still?

Haha it is lowered now, has been for a while. Trying to get dodgy phone pics, but my bluetooth adapter on computer doesnt want to play anymore. Yep, centre caps and all

The goldy-bronze colour, not the flat silver (although in some light they look silver). Should have some pics up soon Yep they fit fine and sit in there quite nicely.

Congratulations  see you out there

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN a R32 GTR
Amaru replied to TiNTiN's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Id seriously consider taking it to one of the major workshops who have alot of hands on experience with GTR's. If its too much time and hassle to get a GTR checked out, dont buy one as its obvious you probably wont be able to maintain it because its "too much hassle". Taking half a day of your time to get it properly and thouroghly checked out could save you $10,000+ in 1/2/6 months time. -
Where to get Skyline Serviced
Amaru replied to r33skylinegtst's topic in Australian Capital Territory

Day I picked mine up (92 model, got it back in 2003) it blew one of the turbos... put HKS 2530's on as they wernt much more than rebuilt highflows at the time. Had it 2 days and the gearbox went bang and one of the valve guides had snapped scoring a piston and bore so it needed a rebuild. Spent ridiculous amounts of money on the car bringing it up to standard since. They do require some money and alot of care to keep them in good condition, but are absolutely awesome cars.

The people who built and carried out the bombing are all waiting for their death sentence to be carried out. The "mastermind" of it all (being the spititual leader of J.I) is in jail for two years. The Indonesian government did try and ammend laws and slap him with a death penalty, but it went against their constitution. But anyways, differing opinions... I personally dont believe Schapelle is as innocent as she claims to be, you do If she gets out, im not going to complain, good on her.
-
She was caught with 4kg of weed in her luggage... in Indonesia its a case of guilty until proven innocent for trafficking, exactly the same as it is in Australia!! You get caught trafficking in either country, you're automatically guilty. The scrap of evidence was 4kg of weed in HER luggage. The onus is on her to prove its not hers, not the governments to prove it is. The rules for trafficking are exactly the same in Australia. If she had been caught bringing 4kg into Australia shed be in the same pickle she is now if she couldnt prove it wasnt hers. Granted, Australian judges wouldve laughed it out of court if it was handled the same way as it was in Indonesia, but as youve probably noticed, australian judges dont really have much say in how the Indo legal system works. You dont need to go over it again... I dont want you to go over it again. Im simply stating, in my opinion, theres been sweet fu(k all to show she is innocent. As for reasonable doubt, the baggage handlers who were charged were done so for domestic trafficking, which once again IN MY OPINION slaps down the reasonable doubt comments, as domestic terminals and staff are different to international terminals and staff. I still think shes guilty, and she can have a tea party with the bali bombers for all I care... she fu(ked up, and now shes paying the price.
-
Now youre comparing it back to Australian rules... shes in Idonesia, she plays by Indonesian rules, as does everyone who travels there. And in Indonesia, the physical evidence, being the man handled bag of wacky tobacky was submitted and accepted. Dont like the 1% chance of this ever happening to you? Dont travel internationally. Im still yet to see any evidence to support her claims of innocence, besides her crying shes innocent, the *possibility* of it being planted at an airport and that a man in jail *possibly* overheard a conversation about planting drugs at airports. When they can prove one of the above did happen, let her go... until then shes fu(ked and in my mind how rightly she should be as well. Its also just my personal opinion she looks like a bit of a bong head.

BP Ultimate... I dont care about any of these refinary share programs, theres obviously a difference between say Optimax and Ultimate even if they do come out of the same place, as my knock meter goes nuts on Optimax/Vortex 98 but it never complains on Ultimate. Have tried Mobil Synergy 8000 in Sydney a few times (we dont have it in Canberra) and it slots in between Ultimate and Optimax.

I didnt physically see it, but had a few people tell me this morning that saw it, apparantly was an R33.

Welcome... how long have you had your car for in Adelaide? Theres a guy on these forums from Adelaide, Envisage. He moved to Adelaide for a while then back up here not long ago, he had a white R34 GT-T, you might know him. But yeah were a friendly bunch, meet up twice a week usually (Tuesday at a local pub, have some drinks etc, and Fridays in civic for a cruise or what not). Biggest clubbing nights here would be Thursday and Saturday in my opinion, although its starting to die off a bit as it comes into winter (-5 or some shit on Saturday night, it was f@#king freezing!!! and dead as in the city). If you do move up, just find a map and come out to the National Museum on a Friday night, we usually meet up around 9 - 9:30ish
