  3. My car just seemed to run better on Synergy... but that was when the car was tuned on Synergy in Sydney, its now tuned on Ultimate in Canberra so yeah dont know how itd go now... And yep, closest place that sells Synergy is Pheasants Nest just outside Campbelltown
  4. Oh crap I completely forgot I was meant to do a leave application and come down See what I can do...
  5. As said above, youre at college and youre going to get shit from people who are envious of you having such a nice car. Id put my money on that whoever egged it was someone from your school. As for comments, a few weeks after EVL-R34 crashed I was at my local servo buying ciggerettes and as I was going back to the car some mid 40s wanker decides to turn to me and shake his head saying "****ing unsafe cars, youre probably going to be next...". Just take comments like that on the chin, you bought the car for YOU to enjoy, not for everyone else to judge you on. Their opinion is worth a grain of salt, or thats how I see it at least. The choice to keep your car is ultimately yours, but it sounds like you have invested quite alot of money into it and it is one of the better examples of an R33 I have seen. Id personally keep it but not drive it to school. It seems to be the way with skylines, alot of people will not drive them unless they have somewhere secure to park it, including me. Have a long hard think about it, but my advice is dont let some old ****wits comments and some jealous haters ruin your love for the car.
  6. Synergy 6000 is normal ULP, 8000 is the 98ron PULP. Synergy 8000 rox, my car absolutely loves the shit
  7. Talk to TNT, they do car couriering for the best price (I think it was TNT anyways...). The only downfall is they have a limited amount of "low clearance" trucks, so if the car is lowered you might have to wait a while for a truck to do a BNE -> SYD -> MEL route before it can pick your car up.
  8. Just to add to this, last time I was at Evo I left the store with some very nasty words exchanged with there staff members, and as far as I am concerned I still owe them a few hundred dollars worth of damage (eye for an eye). I believe people shouldnt slander other companies on the forums, so im not going to slander them, im going to simply state the truth of what happened and fact. I was driving along one night (quite hard) when a loud bang occured and lots of metal clunking around noises. I got the car towed to Evo as it was the only place open on the weekend. I asked them to do a compression test and -nothing else- and how much this would cost. They told me they would do it for free and to come back Monday. So Monday morning I organise a tow to Ed's (I dont trust Evo as I had a bad experiance with them prior to this) and go to get the car. I find half the bloody engine stripped and a $400 bill before they will let me take the car. After lots of swearing I pay the money just to get the hell out of there. They also told me I had blown the engine, was down on compression on all cylinders. Get the car to Ed's, he pulls the gearbox off to take the engine out. He pulls the engine (not doing a compression test, because i told him the engine was stuffed going by Evo's word, how stupid I was) and gives me a call at work. "Hi Nik, stripped your engine and there is -nothing- wrong with it, you could put it back in and itd be working fine. However your gearbox is abo****ely stuffed". End result, stuffed gearbox -- OK engine, nothing wrong with it despite being told it needed a rebuild by Evo. Ended up getting it rebuilt while I had it out anyway. That is a true story word for word of what happened, and because of that I will never give them business ever again. Id also like to point out (again) the above post is not slanderous/libelous... the truth cannot be taken as defamatory comments.
  9. *shrug* you hear good and bad things about everyone... tuning is simply setting air/fuel ratios and timing, theres nothing overly complex about it in the end. He's confident with mine, seems to know all the ins and outs of it and I have -never- had a problem with his tuning, it has always been satisfactory. Hell last week we booked the dyno for a few hours, and only got it on for a few power runs, and running rich (safe) it made 323kw which im happy with. The only reason I can think of people being not happy with his results is if he is setting them rich so dunces dont flog them in summer and then wonder why they go pop. But last time I checked Ed has popped 0 engines from power fc tuning, compared to at least 2 GTR's I know of that have gone bang due to poor tuning at another unnamed place in Canberra in the past 4 - 6 weeks. You asked for opinion on who is the best in Canberra, I gave you mine. As far as I am concerned Ed has the most extensive knowledge of the power fc in Canberra. If you start comparing him to places like Croydon/Hills Motorsport/Advanced then its another story, but even then his results arnt far off what they can get, and he is getting better by the day.
  10. My only feedback is whytry is never to lead a pack in a cruise again
  11. Ed at Integra is pretty damn good with them now and knows them inside out. He can either do a road tune or dyno tune, you just have to let him know.
  12. If you want to do the in place bearing replacement, talk to Ed. He got my sump off without pulling the engine from the car. Was a bastard first time round, but he knows how to do it now and it should be quicker than pulling the whole engine. Id keep away from this though, as I am aware of someone else who bought their car and it spun a bearing on the way back from interstate. After stripping the motor it was found a basic in place bearing replacement had been done, but there was an underlying oil problem. Personally, id go for a full rebuild, even if it means leaving the car off the road for a while. The labour cost of pulling the engine isnt going to be much more, and at least then youre 100% sure of what condition the engine is in etc.
  13. Ill be out... give me a ring, 0404952078
  14. think its primarily BYO
  15. I only use BP Ultimate (I had to put Optimax in it yesterday as I didnt have enough to make it to a BP - and its hate f#cking me for it already with the knock sensor going crazy!!) and its definately availible from Civic, Kingston, Phillip and Chisholm. Not too sure about northside as I live south
  16. Ill be staying at the cotter... theres some BBQ to be had
  17. Autobarn are a dealer/distributor for Veilside (they are also for Trust now as well)
  18. xenons didnt come factory till the R33 GTR Series 3
  19. 1. Yes it is an R34 GTR 2. Its the Nismo Z-Tune - plenty of info on www.nismo.co.jp I would assume (also search on these forums, theres plenty of threads about it)
  20. If you have proof you bought the car before today basically, you can still bring the car in. If you havnt bought one yet, tough luck it needs to now come in under SEVS and get full compliancing.
  21. Vacuum/boost leak, did you check the exhaust wheel on the turbos and make sure theyre still there?
  22. Skylines Australia NSW is a CAMS affiliated club and has access to public liability insurance under them, but the amount of paperwork required prior to an event would push it back by weeks/months. If you were running this as an official/CAMS event then you would bother with NCA approval etc. Just run it as all other clubs do, name a time and place and people will show.
  23. Dont bother with the NCA, no-one else ever does when they organise a cruise. The way you have been setting this up, I assumed you were part of a CAMS affiliated club and could get all the appropriate insurance organised through them?? If youre just organising this of your own free time, not through an incorporated club, dont bother with NCA etc. Just list a time and place and people will show.
  24. Dont have the part number, but I had more success when asking for the "R34 GTR coil pack cover".
  25. Farkkkkk 9am on a sunday... I might have to abstain from going out saturday nite
