Insurance will insure you with an aftermarket ecu, however they are illegal now unless you get the car emission tested to see if the new ecu complies with emission standards. This comes at a pricey cost (of last time I asked) $4500 and is carried out by Ford. You can order a set of the Australian Design Rules, as long as you keep to those you should be ok, just tell your insurance company everything you do, and if they dont like it, dont do it.

Good luck getting them, I went up a few weeks back to get a set (255/40/17 - $280 a corner) and they had none in stock, and some should arrive soon. Got a call a week later from Tempe and they told me Falken have stopped distributing the RT-215 in 255/40/17 for the time being. They did have the Falken RS-V04 which is a proper R compound semi slick for a similar price however.

I think the suspension setup is different in the GTR to GTST... im not 100% sure though, ask in the suspension/handling section

Well another shameless free plug for Ed, he has a tyre guy in Bathurst who brings him tyres every Tuesday. I got something off him called Maxus (I think?) which ive since been told are a rebadged Yokohama tyre. I was a bit sketchy at first, but have them on my car now, and am *VERY* impressed. In the wet if I used to accelerate hard, my rear wheels would start spinning (even when the front started pjulling) and wouldnt go anywhere. With these ones she just took off in the wet (and I also scared the shit out of my passanger ). They were $300 for 255/40/17's and yeah, very impressed.

Thanks man, yours was pretty damn impressive as well (as well as DAN00H.... I still reckon you havnt got stock turbos... you cant pull that power on 8psi on stock turbos ). I was pretty impressed with mine... the power curve is nice and should be good for the track (which is what im slowly getting the car prepared for).

On saturday I managed to do 396.7rwhp (295.8kw) on dyno dynamics in shootout mode. We had just finished installing the new fuel pump (044) and surge tank in the boot and only had time to give it a rough/quick tune before a dyno day (was running 21psi on BP Ultimate 98). Car has stock intercooler, stock intercooler piping, stock camshafts, stock camgears. Mods include power fc, avc-r, veilside evolution exhaust, rebuilt engine with shot peened rods + arp bolts, arias forged pistons, some head work and hks 2530's. This was just a very quick tune with the car running overly rich to keep it safe for the dyno day. Will be taking it in Tuesday for more tuning to see what we can get, then its time to replace the camgears + camshafts. Will post dyno graphs as soon as I get access to a scanner.

I have some Enkei 2 piece rims on my car, 17x9 front and back and each came in on the scales at 12.5kg (including tyre). They have always been on the car, so not sure if it makes any handling differences, but if you hit a pothole the do dent a hell of alot easier

Hi all, Just wondiering if anyone knows why a Trust 6 speed box would drive fine through all gears (1 - 6), however to reverse you need to actually hold the gear stick in gear or else it will pop out. Any info as to what might cause this would be appreciated

Seems you spot me religiously every Friday night in braddon its about the only time of the week I take the car out hehe... car goes under the knife on Monday so it will be at Ed's for an indefinate amount of time (clutch arrived, still waiting on those damned camshafts, and some other stuff coming with the camshafts). I hope to see all of you fellas at the syndicate dyno day next week too, 28th august, 10:30am at autotech services.

I have seen this car in person and it is a *very* nice and clean example with tasteful mods for a bit of extra power. Definately worth the money. Good luck

hey dan, well ive got the receipts for the oil pump collar (jun) and can only go by the builders word it was actually put on, but my oil pump seems to be having trouble holding oil pressure (old) so was looking at going the jun pump and collar... by the way, who are these FMS dudes youve got alot of stuff off for your car?

Just make sure u get all the proper dealers licenses and shite... be good to have a local dealer in good cars besides the two main f@#kwit shops currently operating (heres a hint, both are in fyshwick.... oh oh oh theres also one in woden)
