  1. Just as an update, the CAS was loose, tightened that up and the car hasnt played up since. It has also fixed the hunting for idle problem I was having too.
  2. BNR32: The seats are physically the same size from what I can tell, and the "outer" material is the same color. The only difference is the insert in the middle of the backrest and part you sit on, whereas the R32 seats is all "flush", the R33 seat has lines through it. It doesnt look out of place unless you look at it closely, and even then it doesnt look stupid/mismatched (well not a whole lot).
  3. Cheers for that, will check both
  4. Could be Ill add that to my list of things to check, thanks. Any other ideas? When it "dies" it doesnt stall it just stops revving, tested it this morning and this time it sounded like its hit a rev limiter sort of thing. My main concern is that the light hooked up to the power fc to blink if theres a problem is coming on and staying on until a few seconds after i back off.
  5. Ive got BCNR33 drivers seat in my BNR32. It was in the car when I bought it, I will have a look at the driver and passanger rails and mounting etc to see if theres any difference and post back tomorrow.
  6. Yeah the rev limiter is set to 8250rpm (factory rev limit). I forgot to mention this setup has been working faultlessly for the past few months, nothing was changed on the PowerFC, it just all of a sudden started doing this. Thanks for your suggestion though, appreciated
  7. Last night I started having a problem with my car, a 1992 R32 GTR. The car has HKS GT2530s and standard camshafts and comes on to hard boost around 4000rpm. When the car is coming onto hard boost at 4000rpm the car just "dies" and looses all power and the power fc warning light in the dash comes on and stays on solid. I know if it flashes in 3 increments at 0.5 second intervals it means detonation, and if the intervals are longer its the injectors maxing out, but this is just staying on solid and the injectors are nowhere near maximum (Sard 700cc) and the knock level is 1. The car is also still getting fuel as it comes flooding out the back of the exhaust (occasionally in a pretty orange/white burnt form), but I just cant figure it out. Spark plugs seem ok and are gapped at 0.8mm. It also has Z32 AFM's which were cleaned about 2 months ago. The car is running 1.2kg/cm2 boost. When the car dies it sort of just splutters but doesnt sound like its misfiring. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thanks.
  8. Looking for a set of the sideskirts found on later model R32 GTR's (I think theyre Nismo skirts), look stock except at the rear behind the doors they hang down a bit.
  9. Yeah it had NSW plates (black and white)
  10. Theres more demand for 180SX's over Silvias, and more demand means higher prices. As the others said, beware of what you buy. A friend bought a 1989 180SX last year for $9000 locally (CA18DET/manual) and thought he got a bargain. It turned out to be one of the biggest shitters in existance, and now requires massive amounts of money to fix it up. Things from the floor pan rusting and bending if you put much pressure on it, to engine being stuffed and making a measly 59kw on a dyno. It also had stuffed/bent suspension from where its been slid up a gutter. It quite literally had been taken to hell and back. Which made me just think, make sure you check all the panels for correct fitment and under the car for rust, as they are quite a popular 'drift' car, and id bet a majority have seen a few gutters in their lifetime and arnt quite straight. Make sure you take any youre interested in for a drive, and if the steering wheel shakes at any speed, its a good sign something is bent somewhere. You get what you pay for, if you skimp on the car, you will get burned. If you pay a few thousand extra to pick up a top quality example, you will love and enjoy it for many years to come.
  11. Just spotted a black R34 GTR with big gold wheels and nicely lowered driving through Fyshwick... damn I almost creamed myself
  12. im sure that wont be a problem
  13. mines sleeping, and i cant get shitfaced and make an ass of myself if i drive
  14. spotted a black 33 gtst with the plates "dazzal" at bunnings at 2pm
  15. yes im the abnormally tall one  EDIT: leech... will you be bringing your car too? Im keen to see it, youve been talking about getting one since I met you at summernats, so yeah Either way anyone waiting at APK will be able to spot me and ewen, we will be the two wankers booning around in a white liberty
  16. Check the wiring possibly... from what I have heard the factory wiring doesnt quite cut the mustard with one of these pumps (a few tuners have also told me horror stories of stock wiring burning out and catching on fire when used for such a large pump).
  17. Sux he had the accident, but im happy to hear it was insured, means he can get behind the wheel of another one soon hopefully
  18. Ouch man, did he have insurance? I know how the oil thing works, I hit some oil on a round-a-bout in Tuggeranong, wasnt speeding or anything, and almost went up the gutter and into the pole because I had no control of the car. To top it off it then spun sideways a bit after it finished understeering/sliding across the oil and I almost wiped out Aurora (he was driving next to me)... but yes to say again, we wernt speeding/racing nothing. I hope your friend has insurance!!
  19. spotted sxygtst on my way to work this morning, he gave me a flash i gave you a wave... car looks good man
  20. The camry was chopping in/out of traffic trying to get away from me over commonwealth avenue from civic heading towards parliament house. I caught him within 100 metres but just stayed behind him as to not cause an accident. When I saw the redlight I pulled into the lane next to him (silly me, expecting him to stop) and was about ready to go off my nut at him, when it occured to me he wasnt slowing and was going to run the red light. There was alot of traffic going through the intersection and a car had to slam their brakes on and locked it up trying to avoid the ****wit. After that I decided it was better to have a munched front bar (I hadnt checked the damage yet) than risk my life and the lives of others running through the red light chasing him. Im just happy it sounded alot worse than it did, I can live with a few scratches, it just pisses me off the he knows I hit him (he got pushed up onto the gutter, thats why I was suprised there wasnt more damage!) yet decided to take off rather than face his actions. What exactly happened for those that know civic geography, as youre coming out of civic theres an on ramp onto commonwealth avenue bridge. Halfway up the on ramp theres also another lane that comes onto the on ramp that has to give way to you. He didnt look like he was going to stop so I slowed down. Then he slowed down and looked like he was going to stop, so I went past at about 40km/h and just as I wa about to come up along side him, he put his foot down and went out in front of me, I slammed on my brakes (which locked up in the wet... gotta love Nissan ABS) and he also put on his brakes which is the only reason I went into him. Seems like the dickheads were out with a vengance this weekend... makes me reluctant to even drive my car anymore if thats the kind of shit that happens. And yeah Mick, if you find the owner of the skyline, give him a hit for me, for being a grade a wanker.
  21. Mine does it in the wet but is usually attributed to either a) crap tyres that wernt designed for wet driving in the first place, or B) bald tyres.
  22. Yeah I managed to get involved with a ****wit last night... basically as the story goes, they failed to give way when they should have (read: pulled out right in front of me) and as a result I slammed on the brakes but went into the back of them not bad, was a "gentle rub" it sounded alot worse than it was, but to top it off, the ****wit took off across commonwealth avenue bridge!! so i gave chase but backed off when they ran a red light near parliament house and almost wiped out another car (there was a fair bit of traffic going through the intersection, so i wasnt going to attempt running it). It was a red late 80s early 90s camry (the old boxy ones) and they even turned their lights off so the numberplate light went off and I couldnt see it. So I then pulled over to check damage and was quite relieved to only find a few scratches, chips and marks on the front bar. When it happened it sounded a hell of alot worse like I had demolished the front of the car (it wasnt a hard hit, just a nudge/rub). EDIT: and on a side note, if i ever find out who it was, im going to beat their ****ing head in for being such a wanker (ok ive finished my venting now)
  23. SW20-GT, is it possible I (and possibly ewen if hes interested) can cruise down to wakefield with you sunday morning? Ive got nothing better to do with my weekends than get up early and drive to goulburn
